Crave Cupcakes

The name Crave says it all. These cupcakes are amazing! The icing is creamy and delicious without being too sweet. There are lots of great flavours to choose from and the minis are a perfect for trying them all. The store is really cute and the staff make cupcake shopping a pure delight. If you want to be the star of your next party or potluck, these little babies will win everyone over.

There are a plethora of cupcake shops in the Whyte region, yet I always find myself coming back to Crave to satisfy my sweet tooth cravings. They have one of the best recipes in town! The cakes are moist and flavourful, with a decent variety of flavours to choose from.
The real highlight of Crave for me is the icing. Icing is the moist important part of the cupcake, imo, and Crave does is completely right. Their cream cheese icing is amazing! Just the right amount of sweetness and the perfect texture. The flavours come in the usual vanilla and chocolate, but also have fun lemon-​lime, coconut, and so on for you to try out.
The cupcakes are reasonably priced. About $ 3.50 for a full sized and $ 1.70 for a mini. My favourite thing to do is grab a half dozen of minis so I can try a whole bunch of flavours! They are the perfect size and the lot costs $ 10.95!
The cherry on top of this awesome shop is the parking lot out front. No hassle trying to find Whyte Ave parking for your cupcake fix!

I’ve tried a few cupcake places in town and this one is my favourite (for someone who leans towards savoury over sweet). They have a bunch of regular combos, as well as a few twists on icing/​cake (lime, strawberry, coconut icing, etc) and they also usually have a monthly special. I like Crave because I find that their cake is always moist, never dry — it really tastes homemade and not commercially pumped out (which they are, daily apparently!), and I love icing, and their buttercream icing is light, fluffy, and just oh-​so-​delicious. Again, you can tell that it’s homemade and not out of some tub. Some may say that the mound of icing is too much, but I think it’s perfect! Especially in the mini cupcake version… more icing-​to-​cake ratio :) They also have a gluten-​free option red velvet cupcake that I’m told is delicious. I haven’t tried anything else from them but I’d be willing to bet it’s all tasty. You can also call ahead to place an order… recommended if you are set on having a specific cupcake.

Wow!!! These may possibly be the very best cupcakes I have ever tasted!
Their icing is so flavourful and there are so many options! They all taste unique and different and you can tell it’s not just «oh we added some vanilla to our staple icing and now it’s different»! They have so many flavours and I have never had a flavour that isn’t short of amazing!
Their mini cupcakes are the perfect size so you can sample and taste multiple options! It’s the perfect gift to bring to any occasion or to just pick up for yourself for a nice weekend in!
I find their cupcakes are always fresh and never dry! Their icing isn’t waxy like some other places around edmonton and it’s never too sweet either! Crave is very well named as you’ll be constantly craving their cupcakes once you’ve sampled them!!!

This is definitely a 5! Star place but I only gave it 4 for this reason
*in the past year I’ve gone and bought the strawberry icing vanilla cupcake and it must be a popular seller that they make many many! Because it’s always just a tad dry as if it’s a day old or maybe a bit over cooked just recently this year.
The other flavours r spectacular haven’t been dry or anything so delicious !
The gingerbread they have right now. Ohhh man! That’s good normally gingerbread isn’t something I ever get but I thought I’d try something new very very good! Light and not strong
The prices are a little steep but that’s okay long as the cupcakes keep tasting as amazing as they do! Definitely one of they best best! Cupcakes around so moist almost taste like mayonnaise cakes (if you haven’t tried mayonnaise cake ur missing out, makes it moist!)
So yeah make ur way! Try it out! Trust me it’s worth the prices haha 4 $ a pop

As much as the cupcakes at Crave are delicious, their customer service may be the worst I have dealt with in a long time. I would recommend their Calgary locations to anyone and everyone, but their Edmonton location needs much improvement.
Recently engaged and looking to book Crave for my up and coming wedding was beyond difficult. Tiffany (main Wedding Coordinator in Calgary) is amazing and wish she was based out of Edmonton. It took multiple phone calls (none returned) and emails before Tiffany was finally able to get someone to call me and make an appointment. The appointment went alright, though they seemed very unprepared. The girl we dealt with in store was very nice, but clearly inexperienced and unable to provide anything other then what could be found online. We were told we would be provided for pricing within 2 days, and after a week and a half of no response and no replies again from the Edmonton store, we decided there was no way we could have Crave be a part of our special day. Tiffany was very apologetic, yet very understanding.
As stated before, I highly recommend swinging by Crave to grab some cupcakes, as they are delicious, but their customer service is beyond lacking. I truly hope they work on it as it is a shame that they may miss out on some great business because of it.

Have a craving for cupcakes? This is the place you need to go! These are by far the best cupcakes I’ve tasted. The Dark Angel and Red Velvet Elvis are my favorite! They both have a light and refreshing taste to them. I have tasted a lot of red velvet and chocolate cupcakes and they are always either too dense or the chocolate was overbearing. With these cupcakes, the icing on the top is truly… the icing on top!

These are the most unhealthy tasting (read: BEST) cupcakes in the city! Their cakes are flavourful and never dry, they have a great selection of flavours, but best of all, their buttercream icing actually tastes nice and sugary, like a cupcake should (c’mon, you’re not eating cupcakes for health reasons)!! Biggest cupcake pet peeve is when the icing tastes like nothing at all, but I’m gobbling up every last crumb of these babies!
I love how they have mini sizes that are gone in a couple bites if you want a little indulgence. My favourite flavours include the lemon/​lime and the chocolate cake with vanilla icing. Your friends would love you forever if you brought these around to a potluck, birthday, shower… that is, if you don’t eat them yourself first!

IMO, these are the BEST cupcakes in Edmonton! Better than Fuss, although I do enjoy Fuss as well.
Crave has a peanut butter flavor, that Fuss doesn’t, so that right there puts them over the top. I also think they have a better icing, not as sweet as others.
Highly recommend it! And they deliver!

This place is not bad… but I prefer Fuss Cupcakes. I have to say though Nutty Over Chocolate IS a must try!!!

Crave Addict? Yup!
Crave cupcakes are the absolute BEST ever! Even better than Pink Sugar in Victoria who were pretty good. I have tried the competitors in Edmonton and also while traveling in Canada and the US and no one even comes close. They are always so fresh and moist and the icing is to die for! Dark Angel, Red Velvet and Crave O’ Licious are some of my faves… but have tried them all!
I have ordered online and they are always accommodating and very helpful, the staff in store are friendly and the store is very clean. I would definitely recommend to anyone who loves cupcakes. Love the mini’s so you can sample all of them… the big ones are HUGE but sooo good. They are not cheap but neither are the others. I take them as a treat when going to friends or parties and they are always a huge success! Ignore the people who don’t give them 5 stars … they don’t know quality!
Haven’t tried cookies or cakes yet … but I would bet they are equally as good!
Only drawback is they are definitely not a diet food LOL

Their Gluten Free cupcakes taste normal!
I have been to every location in Calgary so I am not a newbie to the Crave brand.
I stopped in here on my birthday and picked up a dozen cupcakes half GF half regular. Don’t judge I shared with my coworkers and family except the GF the were ALL mine!
I was the only one in the store when I visited and was given prompt attention and they took my gluten free needs seriously. I know I they can’t promise they are totally GF as some evil wheat flour can sneak in during the process but she made sure to pkg the GF ones separate from the evil ones.
When I got home my mother surprised me with GF cupcakes from «Hey Cupcake» In Sherwood Park and I’m glad I had extras of Crave b/​c one bite of the Hey Cupcake one had us gagging we needed something DELICIOUS to clean our palets.

Red velvet is to die for. Totally for the cost :)

I ordered a custom apple cake from them, which was layered and had a cream cheese frosting. The design was very simple and nice, which I liked, but the actual cake was a bit too soggy and dense inside for my liking. I like their cupcakes, but I was disappointed with the actual cake. I think if I come again I’m just going to get their cupcakes because the cake that I ordered, which was custom, felt too heavy and dense and was soggy which felt undercooked. Too bad, I was really looking forward to this cake!

Best cupcakes and cookies this city has to offer! Seriously, everything they make is FANTASTIC! I’ve never been disappointed with dry day or two old cake, this icing is perfectly sweet and their cookies are to DIE FOR! My personal favourite is the sugar cookie that’s filled with rainbow sprinkles and we’ll it’s a tough decision on the cupcakes, I’m leaning more towards the «dirty blonde» but their house flavor is pretty damn good! (It has blue icing, don’t remember the name)

I love Crave! They always have pleasant, friendly staff and the cupcakes are delicious. Every time I have been in the store there are almost too many options to choose from. Not only are the cupcakes delicious but they usually have some pretty amazing cookies to choose from. Stop in and treat yourself!

I love their cupcakes! I was in need of something for a office worker’s birthday, so I popped by with the intent of only purchasing a few cupcakes. I then discovered that they had cakes too! Their red velvet cake is amazing and was a big hit with my office. Way to go! I’ll be headed back soon.

If this was for the cupcakes alone, it might be a 3 or even a 4. But the indifferent service and difficulty with an impersonal phone system ensures I will never buy from here again. I was trying to find the store and the small sign was not visible from Calgary Trail. So I pulled over and called the store via their website. Edmonton number led to an automated phone system. The choice for info on store location only contained Calgary details and there was no way to reach a live person.
When I finally found the store and mentioned the annoying phone system to the woman in the store, she shrugged her shoulders.
There are many better, locally owned choices out there.

Crave mini cupcakes? Yes PLEASE!!!
I’ve been to several events now where Crave mini cupcakes were a part of the sweet treats and every time they are amazing! They have always been moist, super fresh, and not overly sweet!
I love the fact that they have the mini options because then you can sample a few flavours for the same amount that you would have eaten for 1 cupcake! I definitely think this is the way to go for a bridal shower, baby shower, party, or anything really!
If you haven’t tried Crave yet, you are definitely missing out!
