It’s been a few years since I stepped into Dots — I used to go with a friend who has since moved away. Anyways, in my pursuit of finding a reasonably priced dress to wear to a wedding, I decided to check it out again. And boy, was I impressed! I guess I caught the start of their 50% sale sale… because there was a TON left and it was all SUPER cheap. Lots of great brands — Dex, Supertrash, S. Oliver, Kensie, etc… And it was funny how some great quality clothing that isn’t necessarily popular in North America was the cheapest! I got an S. Oliver blouse for $ 12… which is insane, since they retail for around $ 60 in Europe. And Supertrash jeans for $ 15(I had actually never heard of the brand before, but looked it up when I got home and I guess they’re $ 150 jeans? nice!) They also seem to get a lot of unsold stuff from local stores — I saw American Eagle jewellery, shoes, and bags as well as Urban Outfitters jewellery. There is definitely some digging involved in this store(think thrifting), but it can be quite worth your time.

I came here on a whim on a Saturday after work(I’ve taken a break from DOTS since I was spending too much on my wardrobe). I must’ve spent a good 1.5 hours there perusing the numerous racks and trying on a large armful of clothing. I’m happy to report I walked out with 5 items and the total bill was just under $ 120! They were having an extra 20% off some items that day too which helped. If you’re willing to sift through racks of clothes and spend time trying them on — you will be rewarded! I found two awesome skirts — one with black feathers and the other with a chevron sequin pattern; a lovely white button up top with lace details & collar tips; and two dresses by Kensie — a colorful maxi dress with a detachable neon chain necklace and a bold purpley/blue knee length dress with beaded & crochet detailing. They were also having a huge Mexx clearance(90% off) since they received lots of their merchandise when the chain closed. This is a great place to kill time and walk out with some great finds!

I love this clothing store! I found items that retail at $ 100 for $ 25. You have to spend some time finding the gems, but well worth it! Recently, I found five blouses, which at retail would totaled $ 475 for $ 140! All designer labels!

I can’t believe I had never been here before. Dots is a 10 minute walk from my house, in kind of a weird spot behind Oliver square. And they have so. many. clothes. Like, so many. This is the kind of place where you should plan to spend a lot of time. If you’re looking to run in and pick up something particular, go elsewhere. The racks here seem to be mostly random. If there is some kind of order, it was not obvious and completely unlabeled. But that’s ok, Shopping is fun! They have a number of brands at pretty steep discounts, and so much variety that I think there has to be something for everyone if you are willing to put some time into it. Don’t expect help from the staff though. This is a DIY shopping experience. They print the original price on the label, and most things seemed to be an average of 60−80% off. Dangerous.

Dots is an ok store. They have tons of clothes, all very well organized by brand and item. They have brands like Liz Clairborne, DKNY Jeans, Mexx, Kensie Girl plus lesser known brands as well. Plan to spend a lot of time here, because you will need it to rifle through all the racks. They have promotions pretty often, like good deals on Mexx, 30% off your entire bill, or $ 15 dresses. They also have a small but nice display of formal costume jewelry. I didn’t get to browse very long, but I would definitely come back another time.

Since I am the first person to review Dots, I believe it is one of the best hidden Edmonton treasures when it comes to women’s clothing. This store used to be located downtown but several years ago they moved to the back alleys of Oliver Square. Dots hasn’t lost any of its square footage and even somewhat expanded. If you shop at this place once, you definitely will keep coming back. Although off the bat it may look like Dots sells used clothes, it doesn’t. All clothes are new. And there are rows and rows of them! You will see a rack of clothes all priced at $ 10, $ 5 and sometimes even $ 2. Be very patients and take your time browing through Dots’ inventory. It is easy to get confused, say«It’s all junk» and give up but please don’t! You WILL find a great item of clothing sooner or later. In addition to inexpensive clothes, these guys also sell trendy boutique quality items. They are located mostly at the front of the store. Several months ago I purchased a fabulous cashmere wrap sweater for $ 120. As soon as you come to Dots, you are on your own: do not expect customer service representatives to know what’s in stock or to help you locate a certain item. The store is so packed, and the inventory changes so often, that they themselves cannot keep track.
