Ugh. Just so much UGH! Whyyyyyyyy?! It’s always super busy there(for who knows what reason) and the food is just terrible. Soggy, bland, just a lot of yuck.

Avoid this place! Run by shady chineese. The sesame chicken balls are missing one thing. The chicken! Thesse people should be charged for false advertisement. Go somewhere else.

The only good thing might be the price, the taste? Don’t expect too much unless you are used to such thing. You can try some of the meat, but the vegetables and rice are just HORRIBLE

I’ve been here a few times for the special; $ 6 for fried rice, veggies, and sesame chicken. The portion size is large and the service is usually fast, and the taste of the food is alright. The rice doesn’t have a whole lot in it, it’s hard to tell if the veggies are fresh as last time the colour of the broccoli was not right, and the chicken can be quite battered. I don’t expect excellent tasting food but once in a while I enjoy some Chinese food from here.

Whenever I need lunch at City Centre West, I always head to Famous Wok. Why? Because of their awesome bourbon chicken. There isn’t actually any bourbon(I asked) — it’s just barbequed chicken thigh pieces in a Chinese honey-soy sauce marinade. It tastes very similar to my dad’s barbequed chicken — yum! Goes great with the shanghai noodles and broccoli-veggie medley — ask them to drizzle some of the bourbon chicken sauce on everything. Prices have gone up for this 2-item meal though — without a drink, it comes to $ 8.00, a little steep. Beware — cash only!

Visited the City Centre Mall for a quick lunch out with some co-workers(big spenders, eh?) and wound up eating at Famous Wok, located in the West Food Court. Stars for a yummy, cheap lunch(went with the veggies, rice, and sesame chicken combo) and fast service. But the food was warm, not hot(I like my Chinese food pipin’ hot!), and I didn’t realize it’s a cash-only kinda place. Be ready with your dollars before you get in line!

Famous Wok is a nice change when you’re sick of the other food court restaurants. Sometimes a burger just doesn’t do it. They prepare the food for you pretty fast and it is usually full of flavor. The items are extremely filling so it might leave you feeling sluggish. I wouldn’t be able to eat here regularly but every now and then it’s a good option to switch things up.

Wherever I go, Famous Wok never seems to let me down. This location is no different. No, it’s not the best Chinese place in town, but it’s quick, tastes decent, and puts me into a food coma every time. It’s usually my go-to food stand at the food court… only if they have Sesame Chicken. If not, I go elsewhere.
