I saw one of my neighbors pushing a GT cart down our street and abandoned it in between our houses. I called GIANTTIGER4 days ago to tell them where their cart is and even provided the lady’s address who is removing them from their property. She said she’ll «see what she can do». The cart is still sitting there, 20 feet from my front door and about 4 blocks from GIANTTIGER. Today I called the store and once again asked to speak to the manager. This time it was a guy. Either way he was no more wanting to talk to me than the first lady. I asked what the policy was for runaway carts, he said they have a cart rescue thing in place so they go pick it up immediately. We’ll that’s funny b/c I called 4 days ago and the cart is still there. I once again provided the address of the cart and the lady who I saw pushing it down my street. He hurried me off the phone and had very little interest in our conversation. We’ll see if it gets picked up this time. I’m hoping someone from GT knocks on the lady’s door and threatens to charge her with theft. Is there anything more ghetto looking than an abandoned cart in your yard? No shame.

Giant Tiger is an odd duck. Their flyer makes you want to come check out the sales and deals but then you come in the items themselves are quite hit and miss in quality. I’ve purchsed disney t-shirts and what not for my kiddos here a cheap price BUT they are definitely rejects from the production line. The food options are all processed and freezer/lunch bag specials… I once bought frozen fish here but clearly I wasn’t thinking that day. What I do like here are random things like socks! Yep, that’s right, socks! Cheap, colorful, lots of sizes and assortments. I have friends that swear by this store and more power to them. But me, I can take you or leave you giant tiger.

You know what? I’m not ashamed to say I shop here. I do! I like that it’s never wildly packed like wal mart, and that everything is quite clean and in its place. I do however, do not like the selection. There is never a large amount of something your looking for to choose from ie: kurieg cups or diapers!!!, but it’s moderately cheap and it’s a Canadian company. We have to keep the economy going by using these Canadian companies. Just wish there was more to choose from! But I love their socks, and that keeps me coming back! neon anklets that look super cute now that winter is here and can’t rock barefoot tootsies. Check it out!

I don’t regularly shop at Giant Tiger; I just go here when I am bored, and there is nothing else open. The reason I don’t really shop here is because this store isn’t that cheap. It is a discount department store, but the deals aren’t crazy awesome or anything. The clothing section is actually pretty big. They have clothes for men, women, teens, and children. Some of the clothes are actually pretty fashionable, but the quality isn’t always the best. Houseware has some nice stuff, and the prices aren’t bad. I’ve seen can openers here for $ 2, but you can get the same ones at Dollarama for $ 1. Giant Tiger has a lot of food too, but it’s mostly unhealthy, packaged food and a lot of the brands are not recognizable. A lot of the frozen foods are in these open freezers that are caked in ice. I’ve actually found some good breads here and some of the same tasting hamburger buns. Oh, you can get RC Cola here, if you’re a fan! GIant Tiger is good, because it has a bit of everything with reasonable prices, and they do have some really good sales. You have to be careful though, because a lot of things aren’t that cheap!
