A cute little shop! Finally had a chance to stop in and glad I did. Lots of gifts for guys, especially if they tend to be more hipster-ish but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many different types of stache and beard waxes and lotions before :) So if you know a guy who’s really into his facial hair … Most if not all of the items look high-quality, with almost an artisan touch to everything. Many items are made by crafty entrepreneurs, some local and some not. There’s one wall with a great collection of kitschy greeting cards. Simple jewelry, scented candles with fragrances like«clean laundry» and«campfire», and leather shoe care kits are just some of the cool items you’ll find here. I found a neat animal balloon kit that I know will come in handy on a rainy day! Annie(not sure if she’s the owner?) was so sweet and easy to talk to. She told me about the workshops they have now and then, like terrarium-making, calligraphy and weaving. How cool is that? They even book these for private events like parties or team-building if you want. Sign me up! This is a great place to get some unique gift ideas and shop local too. I’m definitely keeping this place in mind for my brother’s gifts.

What a hidden gem! Habitat Etc is in the McKenney Building right on the corner of 104st and 102ave, and is easy to miss if you aren’t actually looking for it. The owner of this store definitely has skills when it comes to sourcing high quality unique products, with a good assortment of local products. I went here specifically for succulents they posted on Instagram. Other items I enjoyed seeing were the wall of handmade cards, S’Well water bottles in gorgeous colours and patterns, and soy candles. And if you’re into bitters, they have a small selection. This place is truly a unique spot if you’re looking for the perfect gift, for man or woman! I highly suggest checking it out. But bring cash or a credit card because they do not take debit. I wanted to deduct a star for not having debit, but the store is so fab and unique it truly is worthy of the full 5 stars!

Just checked out habitat etc for the first time, and it looks like a nice addition to 104 St. There were some greeting cards, cocktail supplies, gentlemen’s gifts, candles and some Christmas décor. The owner said that they plan on carrying some speciality foods and more cards, and described her vision of the space to be a general store. Hoping that they start carrying some of Edmonton’s local artisans, like you’d see at the 104 Street market in the summer!
