This west end, family run business is great! I’ve been going here for a few years and they consistently impress. They have a large menu that is easy to navigate and find what you love. There is a large selection of soups, vermicelli bowls, chicken, beef, fish and noodle dishes. They also have some great smoothies that can almost be a meal unto themselves. Prices are very reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes! I don’t think I’ve ever left without a doggie bag. There is ample street parking and seating available. They also do take away. Make sure to try the Pad Thai and Green Curry. My favorites!

Hoang Long has several locations in Edmonton, serving Vietnamese, Chinese, and Thai dishes that are affordable and delicious. The prices are slightly higher than other Chinatown restaurants, but not by much and it is worth it. Noodle soups, stir frys, noodle dishes — everything is prepared fresh. One of my favourites is the lemongrass skewers of beef and chicken — huge skewers filled with meat that tastes absolutely unique and delicious. Portions are large, and the place itself is spacious, bright, and clean. I try to go here on off hours because it can get packed. With the quality of food Hoang Long serves, it is no wonder.

This restaurant was introduced to me by a born-and-raised Edmontonian who grew up in a household where adventurous cuisine was away of life. This was his favourite restaurant, and one of his parent’s; and now it’s mine. The cuisine is a mix of Vietnamese and Thai. It’s a family-run business and if you go on a Friday or Saturday evening it will likely be packed. The food is worth it! I’d suggest starting with the spring rolls with tangy dipping juice and the salad rolls with peanut sauce. The coconut curried shrimp with basil and mushrooms is my all-time favourite dish, along with a side of yummy coconut rice. The main dishes are about $ 12 to $ 16 and you don’t need many to share because the portions are ample. The space is dimly lit and soothing. They’ve done a bit of renovating and it’s a bit more classy than it was a year or two ago. The meal goes nice with a couple of cold beers, because there’s a bit of a kick to some of the dishes. «Huong Long» is a Vietnamese expression for«Bring it on!»
