I’ve been coming to Kool Nails regularly for about 9 years and have never been disappointed. I get my nails done about every 3 weeks and every second time that I come in Amy remembers to ask if I need my eyebrows done. I’ve also had pedicures done there. Amy and Cong know exactly how I like my nails and they are both total perfectionists. The salon is clean and looks fabulous with the new renovations. Highly recommend for a relaxing, friendly and professional salon.

My cousin was in town this week and she was dying for a pedicure while she was visiting. We had a hair appointment booked at a salon on Whyte for later in the afternoon, so we went to the nearby Kool Nails. What a terrible name for a nail salon, I thought. But we tried it anyway. The booked us in for about an hour later, so we grabbed some lunch and went back for 1:45PM. They were just finishing up with another client and there were only two staff members, so Emily began her pedicure first and they started on mine about 5 or 10 minutes later. It was nice to see them clean the foot soaker thing(I have no pedicure terminology knowledge) before I got in, and they polish was neatly applied. They didn’t have an amazing selection of colours, but I did find a purple one I liked. For $ 30, it was just alright. But I leave you with one question, Unilocalers: why did they have to pumice the entire bottom of my feet? I don’t have dry skin on the middle of my foot — just ticklish nerves. Yikes!

I went here ONCE and will never go back. I went with a friend and we both sat down, ready to get our nails done. The person who was doing my nails asked what I wanted and I explained that I wanted«thin white tips», which meant that she needed to put on clear tips and airbrush them white. Well, she put on white tips instead and I waited and waited for her to ensure that my tips were«thin,» but this never happened. At the end she asked if I liked them and I told her they were not what I asked for. The manager(who was doing my friends nails and stopped many times to answer the phone and have long conversations) came over to look at my nails and said they looked nice and didn’t know what my issues was. I explained to him that it was not what I asked for, and I either wanted a free service or I wanted her to fix them. He just kept saying«no, they look nice» I was really upset and told him I would never return and he just shrugged. The worst part was that I had to wait an extra half an hour for him to finish off my friends nails because he kept«taking breaks.» Obviously, I would not return.
