Stay away from these fraudsters: Got intentionally misquoted, over-charged, lied to not once, not twice but three times by the same phone operator. Did I say over-charged? Not to mention the automatic 5% «shop-supplies» fee where no shop supplies were ever used. Plus they showed up 45 minutes late. 2 minute job, $ 200…took longer to write the invoice, than the actual job itself. At the end I am to blame as I did not read the reviews on Unilocal or Google beforehand. Did I say never, ever again?

I would never use this company. Not worth one star. Called them to repair a commercial door. They charged over $ 700 for the repair, but we needed it done. Repair lasted a couple of days and when they came back to check it, their comment was that sorry, no Lock Surgeon’s problem. I then called another locksmith. They removed all the parts installed by Lock Surgeon and replaced everything for $ 400! Now Lock Surgeon is trying to charge me for another service charge for checking their own work. Most of the reviews on the internet are terrible. Don’t know how this company stays business. Beware don’t use this company!!!

Pros: They are quick to come to your house — I had an emergency situation where I needed my locks changed and they came within the hour. The person who came to change our locks was very kind and professional. However, Two major CONS to Lock Surgeon is the locks themselves, AND their poor customer service in handling telephone inquires. THISISMAJOR: LOCKSURGEONHASSPECIALKEYS You cannot get your keys cut anywhere else anymore for $ 2, you need to go to lock surgeon and pay their jacked up prices for keys. They tell you that this is an «extra security measure», but lets be real — THEKEYSSAYLOCKSURGEONONTHEM. Anyone could take one look at the key and take it to Lock Surgeon. It’s not really an extra security measure that someone could take one look at a key that says Lock Surgeon on it and take it to Lock Surgeon to get it cut. Not exactly an extra security measure, just a way to ensure that people keep coming to Lock Smith to pay thousands of dollars for these keys. I now have to drive out of the way to get my keys cut. NOONE told me that their keys could not be cut anywhere else, I would have reconsidered using this company had I known it was going to be such an ordeal to get a key cut. Secondly, whoever answered my questions on the phone was seriously STUNNED. She had no idea that she worked for Lock Surgeon because she had zero answers for me other than«Well we are closed right now I can’t help you!» I wasn’t planning on coming in, I just wanted a few answers to my questions. Just so unhelpful. So would I recommend using Lock Surgeon? In an absolute emergency situation I would say yes, they are relatively quick to get the job done(in my experience). The sales and customer service after the job is done is questionable.

Consider a different company for your locksmith needs. Bad experience from telephone quote to follow up with manager after service. Will not be using the Edmonton office again. — Incomplete quote provided for required work. Missed the $ 89.99 onsite service fee and didn’t quote us for the installation of the new door lock and — Unprofessional onsite service. The installer informed us that the hardware we provided was«crap». Had to pick a lock on the rear of the home despite being provided with a working key(another $ 25 charge). — Combative and defensive manager when called to follow up on difference between initial quote and completed work. Not asking for a refund but to discuss how they can improve the accuracy of their quotes. Perhaps Lock Surgeon is counting on customers needing their locks changed more then they need accurate quotes or courteous service.
