This is one of many hidden gems in the City of Edmonton! The Open Source Street Art Wall is a cool concept that has been tried in a number of cities around the world. In 2013 the City decided to pilot 3 separate projects and this is one of them. The idea is to give street artists a legal place to do their graffiti art. The City works with the local businesses and community to deter tagging in the neighbourhood, and to provide an audit of the effects the wall is having on the community. This wall is located in Old Strathcona on the back of the Tire Craft store and behind the Paint Spot. The project is a partnership between the City and the Edmonton Arts Council.
