With a menu spanning over 200 items, Pagolac offers an extensive amount of selection to their customers! You can choose almost anything. Food was very good and came out fairly quickly. In terms of taste, I found the food to be good — nothing too mind blowing, just quality Chinese/Vietnamese food. Portioning is HUGE. When I say huge, I mean huge. Do not underestimate the sizing of the food that you are going to get. Come starving or prepared to share.

What a great place with oh so many choices! I’m not quite sure if this is a Vietnamese or Chinese restaurant but they have both and both are equally as delicious! Prices are comparable and everything tastes amazing. Their menu is extensive, and by extensive I mean they number their dishes and they have over 100 to order from!!! Everything our group orders was delicious and the service was fast and our food came out in a timely manner! My dish was definitely comparable to ordering the same thing in Asia. It’s always a good sign when the food tastes the same in Canada and the country of origin!

Amazing ! So delicious and flavourful! I had the Singapore noodles. I will definitely be back. Very reasonably priced and friendly service.

I have been frequenting this restaurant for many years now and will continue to stop by here whenever I am in town. They consistently make a very good bowl of phở. I always get the No.1 on the menu. The bowl seems to have gotten smaller of the years and the price keeps going up too. No. 1 comes with thinly sliced pieces of rare beef, beef balls and beef tripes. The broth is seasoned perfectly. Just add a little bit of bean sprouts and I’m in heaven. Their deep fried spring rolls is also top notch. Filled with yummy goodness. It’s a must try if you have never had spring rolls before. Order one of their many refreshing drinks and enjoy a wonderful meal!

A friendly Vietnamese restaurant. We always come to order the beef wrap(7 dishes of beef — the #2) as finding a place that does La Lop wraps is hard to find. Our party of three adults and three kids was the La Lop wraps, A large phở chin nam, a small phở tai chin, and a bun thit ngong. All in $ 56. My aunt had a great conversation with the owner. Service was very fast, food was good but a little pricey for the phở($ 11 for a large). Lunch was just $ 50 though and they treated the kids to lollipops. Great family run Vietnamese place.

We came here for lunch. We had a group of 7 so we called ahead and had a table reserved. It was set up and ready for us when we got there. The restaurant was clean. Casual atmosphere. Prices were very reasonable. I ordered a vermicelli bowl that came with garlic shrimp and a roll. Well it turned out that I had miss read it. There was no roll. The shrimp were wrapped in rice paper and deep fried into mini rolls. I checked the shrimp and half were not properly cleaned. Still had the vein in them. So I did not eat them. The ones the were clean did not have much flavour. Pretty disappointed with the dish. The other dishes that were ordered at the table look good. There seemed to be mixed experiences. Some loved their food others were content or indifferent. I’m not sure that I would go back. There are many other Vietnamese restaurants in town.

This is one of the oldest Vietnamese restaurants in China town, back then we came for lunch quite often, the foods were great taste, fast, service was acceptable for such a busy lunch time! Came back last week, it seen different now, maybe we expecting too much in the old days! The soup was not as good as Phở Tau Bay, but their combination of Rice plate and vermicelli bowls are still good out of all, service was almost none, and we just eat then run! Food :4 satrs. value: 4 stars. service: 2 stars Final rating :31⁄3 Stars

Is this the same with the one on the south side? I’ve been to the other location and the food and service was superb! I convinced my husband to try the downtown location. To my dismay, service was below average, food came out in a snap of a minute. really fast but looks not so appealing… anyway, I was just hoping that it’s just the way it looks but oh my. my terrible looking lemon grass burnt chicken taste awful. the chicken was burnt outside and the inside is dark and raw. how could that be?! The other dish I had was deep fried tofu which is not that bad but still not good enough compare to the one from the south location. I will never ever come back. Wasted my time and money for this. If you want Vietnamese food just go to the pagolac south location.

Meh. it was barley ok. Had the shrimp salad rolls and rare beef phở… I usually love the salad rolls, but I didn’t even finish these, can’t really pin point what it was, but not a fan. As for the phở the only good thing was the beef was nice and tender. The phở did t have much flavor. I had to add a lot of hot sauce and oyster sauce to be nice. I think a good phở come tasting phoblous on its own. will not come back to this place again which is sad as I really like their south location.

Best Phở in town. Even better than the other Pagolac location! I don’t know who the chef is but somehow they spice the soup just right and my wife will only get the satay soup from THIS location.(other location comes out thick as gravy. bleagh) I would give this restaurant 5 stars but for the hygiene. Unfortunately the whole place looks a bit run down and like most chinatown restaurants, it’s pretty dirty especially in the bathroom. So go have a great meal here, Just don’t look in the kitchen, or the bathroom, or at the floor.

I live in California but every time I go to Edmonton, I go to Pagolac. My favorite Ginger Beef I have ever had. And I have had plenty… The Beef Satay soup is also delicious! I will always go back.

So, I’ve eaten food from here twice. The first dish I tried was my wife’s leftover vermicelli and vegetable dish, which was pretty tasty, probably due to an abundance of MSG. Because of that MSG and my sensitivity, I don’t think I felt too great afterward. But due to the tastiness of that veggie dish, I didn’t scoff when Sarah’s co-worker expressed the desire to eat here. I went for a spicy lemongrass beef dish with a spring roll this time and it was tasty once again, but somehow, the flavors left me wanting more. The food here is fairly greasy, but tasty. I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here. The restaurant is crowded at lunch time. And if you’re not vegetarian, there are about 300 dishes to choose from. The drink menu is also very intriguing — I wonder if Pagolac’s jackfruit and durian juices are fresh. The restaurant appears to be clean, but your picky aunt who generally prefers eating at chain restaurants will still likely be frightened by the restaurant’s old, utilitarian décor. Pagolac doesn’t have much specifically on the menu for vegetarians, but they can usually go out of their way to cater to those dietary needs. Pagolac has tofu, vegetables, spring rolls, and a number of vegetarian sauces they can use to cook something up.
