So this location is a bit more cramped for space than some of the Remedy Café locations out there but that likely has a lot to do with the price of rent in this VERY busy Café-centric area of Whyte avenue. Like all Remedy Café locations it has delicious beverages for sale and well this location is so tiny that it is hard to maneuver around the space. Staff members are efficient at making beverages which is good though, and I adore Remedy’s Kashmir Chai, so it’s worth it for that alone!

This is by far the busiest location. I love the downtown Remedy’s because its so much easier to find a place and you’re not stuck waiting in line for 20 minutes or without a table. I would always recommend the other locations over this one! That being said the staff is OK but not always friendly, and the food is still really great! I’ve become obsessed with the Vanilla Rooibos Chai and the samosas and have gone there twice this week already. I will definitely come in still and eat, I like the food. I prefer the other locations though.

I love the atmosphere, as many reviewers have touched on. This is much smaller than their other locations. I actually love how small this location is: it feels cozy and cute. The ‘chai’ is overly sweet but the samosas are excellent. I love their sugar alternatives though. I’m not a fan of the service, which was long and a little off. You know that uncomfortable feeling you get when people smile a second after their cue to do so? That’s the feeling. For that reason, I feel ambivalent. I will definitely pop in as needed, but head over the 109th location for better service and a nicer environment, if you like bigger cafés that actually have washrooms!

Although I absolutely love the Remedy Café on 109th, this Whyte Avenue location is a huge disappointment. When I go to a coffee shop with fancier drinks, such as this, I like to sit in a comfortable environment and enjoy my drink. This place is very small with uncomfortable seating arrangements and small tables no larger than a two top. If I ever have a craving for kombucha tea and I’m with my friends on Whyte, we have to sit at the bar area which makes it awkward to converse with each other. I really wouldn’t ever go here, it’s not a very nice environment. Also there’s no bathrooms– Coffee usually runs right through me, so it’s very inconvenient.

A good friend brought me a slice of cheesecake as a nice treat at work from here in June. She made sure to tell them I have a nut allergy, and was told that the cheesecake was nut free. The first thing she says as she sees me, handing me the cheesecake is «It’s vegan and nut free!» After taking a tiny bite, I realized it most defiantly wasn’t. I’m thankful I didn’t have a larger bite that would have resulted in me going into anaphylactic shock, but it did result in getting sick enough to have to leave work early. I won’t be spending money at a place that doesn’t value my safety. I hope this establishment learns how unacceptable this is– and hopefully others with allergies can be warned to avoid Remedy.

This location is not your hunker down with friends or work on a essay type of location. This is your ‘desperate for that sweet, sweet chai need it now’ type of location. Which quite frankly, I’m glad exists! The food is always SO good at Remedy! When I went there this week I got a zucchini loaf and to be honest, in my mind I was like zucchini loaf this ain’t gonna be good. Why’d you choose that you fool… But then I took a bite and my word — moist, delicious loaf eating ensued! I was in flavour country! The staff seems really nice albeit sometimes a little bit stressed because it is such a small location and the lineups can get wild, but I feel like they handle it really well! I teeter on giving this place 4 stars, or 3 stars cuz I think the service is worthy of a 4 and if you’re aware of the size constraints then you’ll get a 4 type of feel… However if you’ve been to the other locations and expect the same then it might only be 3 star worthy… Hmm 4 it is!

We went in for a snack on a Tuesday evening and this place was hopping! I’ve heard a lot of people rave about it and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Lots of tempting treats, and they are apparently famous for their Chai. I tried some of the chocolate cake and a scone– both of which were fantastic. My favourite part was the live music upstairs. Very chill vibe. Would probably go back, but not to study because it was a little noisy!

This Remedy location has so much potential, yet they squash a lot of it due to poor service. I’ve been in this location to try their siphon coffee which took the barista forever to figure out; I’m not sure if there was a lack of training involved or a lack of motivation. The drinks are solid like at the other locations, but the food can be very sub-par. No stove/oven means that the food is heated in a microwave while still inside the to-go container until the plastic is blistering hot. The wraps are usually delicious, and I have noticed that the general upkeep and cleanliness of this location has significantly improved since they first opened.

I love remedy, but this is a terrible location. The plebs at the counter barely know how to greet a customer, let alone make a proper cappuccino. About to throw away the sour sludge I received instead of a delicious beverage. Let me repeat, I think remedy is one of the best places to eat and drink coffee in Edmonton but this place sucks.

The first and last time I was at this location was an exercise in bad work ethic. I was with a group of three, we all ordered drinks and food to go. My friends both got wraps and I ordered a ham & cheese sandwich. My friends food came out as expected within 10 – 15 minutes and expected mine to show up shortly after. Another 5 mins I asked the cashier how long my food would be, she went into the kitchen and asked the cook. She told me that they were out of bread for the sandwiches and it couldn’t be made. I asked for an alternative to the bread and told the cashier that she really needs to tell the kitchen staff need to communicate with the front staff a lot more for when situations like this happen. The restaurant was busy but, telling your front staff you’re out of something takes 10 seconds. Makes for better overall service.

I haven’t been back to this place for 2 reasons. The customer service sucks but worse, it’s dirty. I think the window frames haven’t been cleaned in years. There’s literally an inch of dust and dirt about 5 inches from where you put your drink down. While I love comfy chairs in cafés, I don’t usually have to think of how clean the chair is, I do ponder that when I’m at Remedy. I don’t find it comfy for the above reasons and the food isn’t so fantastic as to overcome crummy environment. I’ve never been to the other locations because I wasn’t induced to by my experience at the Whyte Ave location.

I enjoy remedy café, just not this location. The young lady who was on the register was more interested in chatting in the back than taking customer orders. The wraps, while good, are messy. There is nothing to wash your hands with. It’s just a little too unclean here, and the service isn’t worth the stop. Go to the a different location.

This café not only has excellent drink but the food is also to die for. When me and boyfriend walked in, it was quite busy and it took a while for our order to be taken. While standing in line a man at a table close by got some kind of soup and bread, which looked absolutely delicious. We weren’t hungry at the time but we had to try it! The drinks and the food were very good! My only complaint was the amount of time it took for everything(we were there for almost an hour!).

Same drinks overall with a smaller selection of food or bakery items. Service at the front was indifferent and no one seemed in a rush to clear old dishes. Nice that the space, the paint job and the coffee mugs are all new. The sitting area is a little cramped however, lots of high bar-style seating, not quite the space you could camp in for long periods. If their goal here is higher customer turnover, this location does have that setting and feel. That might be a good thing for Whyte Ave.

The fact that I have to give at least one star is a disappointment and something this location does not deserve. It’s not the food or the drinks — that is excellent. The staff is atrocious. Absolutely the worst service around The Avenue. The few times we have experienced this location the staff is either hungover, craving something, not happy to be there, or frankly just don’t care. Or perhaps a combination of it all. The 109 location — excellent. This 104 St one — never again.

I visited Remedy on Whyte for the first time since it opened. It was way smaller than I expected. The Jasper Ave location is always pretty busy, so I assumed maybe a newer location would accommodate for the same, especially in a busy area like Whyte Ave. The kitchen/prep area takes up the majority of the space and the limited number of tables and chairs were pushed really close together in the corner. It really wasn’t a very comfortable or inviting space — this is definitely a take your order to go kind of place. But at least everything was new and clean and it looked like the menu was the same as the other locations. Server seemed kind of disinterested though. A good place to stop in if you’re wandering around Whyte or heading to the farmers market, but probably wouldn’t want to spend a lot of time in here.

Had the best experience at Remedy Café on Whyte Ave. I came in wanting to try something new, and the lovely lady at the front counter suggested I try a Palak Paneer wrap– best decision ever! –It’s really good. Thank you for suggestion!

Same good food and drinks, but it’s really crowded and the service is slower than the other two locations. Also, there is no bathroom, which sucks when you want somewhere to break from shopping.

I returned to this location of Remedy to get a chai latte to go — and like in the other two locations, it is incredible. My biggest complaint the last time around was that there were not washrooms in this location. Apparently, if you go outside and around the corner, just past the Second Cup there is a set of doors, and you can go inside to use a washroom. It’s not ideal, but it is better than nothing.

I don’t go to Whyte Ave a lot, so I had no idea that Remedy had opened up a third location there. I came across this location the other day. The first thing I noticed was that this café is pretty small. There are only a few chairs and tables(no couches) and there is no bathroom — so there is no where for you to read/write/draw on the bathroom walls. I’d assume the decision to not have a bathroom was probably due to the small space more than anything, but I don’t know that for sure. I did notice the menu seemed to be the same as the other locations, but I read a review saying this location isn’t licensed yet. I don’t remember seeing any alcohol, but I wasn’t there to get beer or wine. I wanted chai. Like review Trace S said remedy has the option for almond milk. I’m not dairy free, but milk makes me kind of sick, and soy milk makes me really sick. At chain coffee shops I’m usually relegated to having milk in my drink and hoping for the best. I like that I can get almond milk in my chai at Remedy, and it tastes delicious and it has no ill effect on me. It looked like they still had the same food options, including containers of take out you can have at home. The drink was good. I like the location even if the space is small. Still being right in the heart of Whyte Ave I’m sure Remedy will do well here. I’m glad there is another Remedy and another coffee option on Whyte aside from the chains(including the Second Cup right next door). I do wish there were more seating options, but to me this isn’t a huge downfall. I’ll just get my iced chai to go, and then take stroll down Whyte Ave. It’s not a bad way to spend a clear night in August.
