I would never go to this place with the kind of marketing program they have. I live in a building down town Edmonton on the front door of the building there is a clear sign saying«No Agent Peddlers or Solicitors» Also a similar notice is at the rear door of the building. Also on my apartment door there are two notices as well one stating«No Agent Peddlers or Solicitors» and as well on my mail slot stating«No Junk Mail» This company is hand delivering flyers to people in the building anyways even though people clearly have signs up saying they do not want them. This company is nothing short of a bunch of scumbags for doing something like this and I would never frequent a restaurant that has a unscrupulous marketing program like Roadrunner Pizza and Donair has. Avoid this company obviously any personal information given to this company about you is not safe with them.

I have ordered from Roadrunner Pizza Donair in the past once in a blue moon-for those on a budget, their pizza was always good, I thought. However, this review is based on a different food order I had placed for delivery. I had ordered their hamburger, fries, and onion rings, and as you’re required to order a minimum of $ 16 dollars I believe, also their cheese toast. I noticed NO funny or unusual taste difference in the food, and no strange odour or smell. I have ordered this SAME food delivery from them before and never experienced no problems. However, I was woken up late last night between 3 and 3:30AM by what I thought was a mild acid reflux attack, even though being diabetic, I had NOT ordered any pop like Coke as I had from them in the past. I was clearing my throat, trying to get rid of the unpleasant taste and decided to go to my bathroom. I suddenly and instantly threw up into my toilet a few times, violently enough that I had made a mess that I had to clean up. Either this Asian couple’s cleaning methods are LESS than up to health inspection standards, OR they used rancid oil, or meat that was expired. I don’t know which of these is the reason that caused me to have to vomit late in the night, but I’m sure not going to be ordering from them again. This has just been my personal experience– you can take it for what it’s worth. And after I read the review from Justin L from 11/21/2014, that’s even MORE of a valid reason for not ordering from them again!

I have never written a review on here but after the appalling service experience I just had with this place I feel I have no choice but to warn everyone. I started eating donairs and pizza from here about 2 years ago. In fact I had never had a donair until I went and ordered one from the seemingly kind Chinese couple who own the store. Since then I have ordered from there about a dozen times over the last couple years and for the most part they maintained a fair level of service, decent preparation and until only recently they were still my favourite donairs in the city. That’s all changed. My steady decline in satisfaction with this business started in the summer one night when I had ordered my usual 2 donairs and pizza for my girlfriend, myself and our son. The wait for the order was a half hour longer than usual so my order was a little cold. But that wasn’t a concern. The unsettling part was biting into the donair and then finding a long dark hair stuck in my teeth afterwards. I realize that these things happen so I wasn’t angry, I simply wanted to tell them about it so that they knew and could avoid it from happening again. I called and let the Chinese woman know first but then I was quickly handed off without apology or explanation to the older Chinese gentleman. He listened to what I had to say but also did not apologize or seem concerned. He just offered to bring me a new one or give me a discount of 5 dollars in a way that seemed as though it was a regular occurrence for him to be handling this sort of complaint. I was hungry and asked for a new one and he brought one over quickly. I told myself I wouldn’t order from there again but I all too often give people the benefit of the doubt. Tonight wasn’t just the worst service experience I have ever had from a restaurant or takeout business, it was hands down the worst service I have ever seen or heard about in my life. To start our order took an hour and a half to arrive. When it arrived the delivery guy told me his U-joint was broken? I told him I didn’t know what that was but okay and still even tipped him a couple dollars. We sat down to eat and I opened the pizza box to find it overcooked, hard and cold. My son and I still had a slice because it was now 8pm and we were very hungry. We went to try the donairs and found that they were sloppily prepared and both cold as well. On top if that one seemed undercooked while the other was hard and crunchy. All that was frustrating but still we were coping with it and trying to enjoy our food until my girlfriend alerted me that this time there was a hair in her food! The same thing happened when I phoned the store back. They told me they would give us a discount next time and instead of apologizing for the hair he blamed the driver for all the problems. The fact that it was cold wasn’t the issue. The problem lied in the food being cold, unappetizing and having a hair in it! My girlfriend wouldn’t accept the ‘discount’, she took the phone from me and demanded that they refund our money. The Chinese man agreed to come back as long as our food wasn’t eaten which of course it wasn’t aside from a couple bad slices of pizza. When the man came to our door is when the real trouble started. He looked through the food and instead of apologizing and offering a refund, he said ‘alright I’ll give you 5 dollars discount for it being cold, the driver’s car was broken.’ We told him we wanted our money back and the entire order refunded because at this point we were beyond having patience with him. He gave us our refund in cash and then began to pick up the food order that we had given him back. He looked in the pizza box, saw that two pieces were missing and started to yell at us asking why we wanted a refund. He then threw the food all over the floor in front of my apartment like a child having a temper-tantrum and took off down the stairs out of my building yelling and cursing as he left! Let me reiterate that this older Chinese man is the OWNER of this business. My only response to him as he did this was ‘this is going to be all over the internet’ and my girlfriend told him to grow up as stormed off. In the end my family was left with a large mess to clean up, without a dinner and the bad taste of this awful man and his horrible food in our mouths. We will never be ordering from Roadrunner again and hopefully this helps you to decide whether to consider them as well. I wish I had taken a picture of the aftermath before I cleaned it up… BEWARE!

1.5 stars for me but game them a half a star as other reviewers have said the pizza is good. Only tried the donairs. They’re ok but not to die for. Have had them twice when I first moved to the neighborhood(a decade ago) and then again two days ago. Forgot the whole«sauce on the side thing» which annoys me and why I stopped going. Makes me sad ’cause they’re so close It’s a donair… sauce goes inside and then wrapped. I don’t want to have to undo my meal and add the condiments before I eat it. And for those who like it this way… that’s cool but for me donairs are not a dipping food. If I order a pizza, will I get a bag with the toppings on the side?

This joint was one of the few highlights during my 1.5 year prison sentence in DEADmonton(1 year 4 months 25 days and 9 hrs to be exact but who’s counting). Whenever I’d finish self-medicating with booze and stuff I always enjoyed capping it with a pizza from these folks. I’ve had pizza all over the world and this place is quite unique, I swear they’re adding some addictive secret ingredient to the pies. For starters the toppings are on the INSIDE of the slice when you bite into it, especially good with ground beef, mushrooms and olives. I can easily inhale a large by myself… very moist. So when people ask me if I miss Edmonton I’ll continue to reply with«hell no! But there’s this one pizza place there called Roadrunner…»

Great value, great pizza. Probably the only pizza place with a shrine to Buddha in it!

Okay so, When I was at my friends the other night, we ordered a couple donairs and asked for the sauce Inside. And they said that don’t do that anymore, even by request? Yeah, I found that strange, maybe the delivery drivers were complaining that the sauce was dripping onto their car seats? So I suggest heating up the sauce in the microwave when it arrives as it is cold. If you leave it in the container, just 10 – 15 seconds at a time, as not to melt the plastic ramekin.
