Second Cup

I love coming to Second Cup. I don’t drink coffee but I come for tea, just a simple green tea. Therefore I can’t comment on the barista’s skills since pouring water on a cup and placing a tea bag doesn’t require much.
At the time I ordered my tea there wasn’t anyone else waiting so my tea was ready right away. There is plenty of seating available, including a few couches to make it more comfortable :-)
The music is not too loud so you will be able to have a conversation without the need to be loud.
In general, a good location to get and enjoy your drink :)

I can’t speak to the drink-​making abilities at this location, but on more than one occasion I’ve come here, waited at the till for a couple minutes to be served, realized that the baristas are too busy talking to each other, and just walked out.
The location, though, is great and there always seems to be open seating both indoors and outdoors. I think this would be a good location to study at. assuming the barista feels like helping you.

I really like Second Cup, for their lattes and their Frozen Hot Chocolate. Located right across the street from my work, the convenience is awesome. I used to go quite often and was starting to get recognized by the staff, but I have backed off the caffeine. I have frequented this location years back, and again now that I work so close. Their new rewards program is pretty great too, and in the beginning when it rolled out, the manager was super helpful in assisting me with some slight issues.

I come here sporadically, I would say. It is convenient in that it is close to transit and to many other places I like to visit. The menu includes quite a number of good beverage options from coffee to tea and frozen hot chocolate and more, but I don’t feel that there are any real stand out options. I do like the seating arrangements in this shop however: there are couches booths, sturdy chairs and much more. Generally it is a good place to stop and visit with a friend or otherwise have a good time with one or two other people. I’ve also had a meeting or two here and the tables are convenient for taking notes.

Yesterday was my first time here in a very long time. I stopped in briefly to grab a drink before my work-​related workshop nearby. It wasn’t busy when I walked in at 8:45am, with only 2 people seated at tables inside, and one other person outside. I walked straight to the front to place an order and the person taking my order didn’t bother to even smile or say hi. She just seemed so unhappy and unimpressed with her job. I ordered a blueberry bran muffin and a London Fog. Meanwhile, the barista lady also wasn’t pleasant, not once did she smile either. Overall, very poor customer service at this Second Cup which is disappointing to see. Oh, and the muffin was not good at all. It was wet & moist yet somehow still super crumbly and way too sweet.

Very friendly and efficient staff. They are polite and consistent. I always appreciate a place that gives you great service. Stop in and enjoy, you will have no complaints!!!

Second Cup makes for a great second office. This location is convenient for me to spent time at while I wait for my wife. I can hide at the back with my laptop, write reviews for Unilocal and get some work done.
Parking is good and staff are friendly. Their beverages and desserts are same quality as every other Second Cup.
As with most every Second Cup, wi-​fi is free.

This is one of my favourite Second Cups. I love how they have outdoor seating but it can get noisy being on Jasper Ave. The inside seating is spacious and rarely it is every so busy that you can’t find a seat. I like they have the bigger comfy seats towards the back.
They have a large selection of cookies and desserts if you are looking for a snack or after dinner treat. I’m not a coffee drinker but I like their cold drinks like Italian sodas, mango chiller, or frozen hot chocolate. If I’m in the mood for a hot drink, I like a nice cup of tea. There can be a line up but the service is pretty good. It’s a great place to meet friends for a coffee after work.

I’ve always hated the brewed coffee Second Cup uses; it’s so goddamn acidic — or «bright» I guess that would be in coffee-​speak. Their espresso isn’t amazing either, but is leagues ahead of the regular drip stuff.
I come to this particular Second Cup location because, for the immediate area, it has the best selection of pastries and a powerful air conditioner that saved my life on more than a few sweltering summer days this August. It’s also got a lovely window-​facing counter that lets you quietly tuck yourself away in corner sunshine and write letters to faraway friends with no one looking over your shoulder.
