I used to love , but no more. My most recent transaction with them over the last 25 days was nothing but pain. 3 items were missing. They delivered 2 of the 3 items on the next delivery date. Great. BUT the third item was never delivered. I contacted them by email 4 times over 20 days or so, but never received any reply let alone apology. Every time I asked them to deliver the missing item, no response. I felt my inquiry was completely ignored. Today I contacted them again via website asking again for delivery of the missing item, but in the end they applied a refund without my consent. I had clearly communicated to them that I do not like a refund, but the item. There was no explanation why they did what they did. No more spud for me.

We love shopping at Spud. We have been buying a few items mostly every week for a year and their quality of produce has never disappointed us. Even if it does, they are willing to accept refund request reasonably, which we really appreciate because you can’t judge quality when ordering online. We like the convenience of delivery service, and are also not obligated to have a term contract or to order every week. We also appreciate the fact that they make sure to deliver only when someone is home during winter and don’t leave a delivery box outside.

I see the SPUD truck in my neighbourhood all the time and I have always thought of trying it out. I got some information from the lady that was at the SPUD station at the Unilocal Elite Ultimate Picnic Party. I placed my order that evening(Monday) and was told that I could change my order as much as I want until 3pm the day before my delivery(which in my neighbourhood is Wednesdays). I just wanted to go all out and buy everything they had listed on their website, because it all sounded and looked so amazing. I settled for an Organic Seasonal Fruit Package(which contained peaches, pears, necarines, plums, and strawberries). We also got bananas, eggs, cheese, onions, carrots, and 3 bottles of different flavors of smoothies. The prices are decent, and they deliver! Plus I got a discount, so that rocked! The delivery happened shortly before I got home from work but I got a text message saying that it was delivered successfully. There was a voice mail on my home phone stating where the box was, and it worked perfectly fine. They went that extra step to make sure I got my stuff. Plus, it was package perfectly and the ice packs were still frozen! I can’t wait to place my next order, and have even referred a friend! I can’t wait to try out their meats, and some more fruits and vegetables. Heck, I’d love to try everything!

What excellent customer service from Corbin, the managing director of SPUD’s Edmonton location. Not only did he respond promptly to the original Unilocal review as you can see, he also sent me an email restating that if I’d like my lentils they’d be more than happy to redeliver them this week! Excellent customer service makes me happy! So 5 stars to SPUD and rightly so =)

I’ve received a few SPUD boxes now, and I absolutely love it every time! I get to browse through local and organic groceries online at my convenience — all from producers like Gull Valley Green Houses, Bles Wold, and Meadow Creek Farms, who I already know and love. Everything is packed carefully and cleverly(i.e. frozen foods stay frozen and nothing gets squished), then delivered to my door — even when I met the delivery guy downstairs, he insisted on carrying up to the apartment for me! Sometimes eating consciously can be inconvenient, and I don’t know about you, but I really hate going to the grocery store most of the time. SPUD is trying to make eating healthily/locally as easy as possible — something I can definitely get behind. Not only that, but every SPUD employee I’ve been in contact with has been really helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend SPUD if you want to start(or continue) eating a more healthy, ethical diet from some of the awesome farmers and suppliers in our area. It’s like a win-win-win situation.

The doorbell range last night and I opened the door to the latest box from spud being delivered. Its fun unpacking a box and finding really nice produce to use for dinner tonight. Huge time saver getting things delivered.

I placed my first order with SPUD after receiving a promo code from one of their friendly representatives at a local food event. With a little bit of credit, I was free to try out SPUD’s produce delivery with no hesitation and I’m pleased to say that I’m quite impressed with my experience. My order consisted of mostly fruits and veggies but SPUD also offers baked goods, dairy, meat, juices and various other snacks. I was really impressed by their website’s interface which made it easy to choose and review an order. Obviously it’s challenging picking out produce online since you can’t see the size, shape and colour of your choices but I was happy to try a little bit of everything as part of my first order. The quality of the produce was generally quite good and the order was delivered in a hefty box right to my door. Most of the produce was fresh, large and tasty, however a couple items were a little bit over-ripe. Given how important seeing and touching produce is when you buy it at the store or the market, I was generally quite impressed with what I had delivered and I would definitely use SPUD’s services again, especially for heartier items like potatoes, onions, squash and packaged goods. SPUD is a really great resource for people who want to have fresh, organic food delivered but can’t make it to the grocery store or won’t be able to make it to one of Edmonton’s markets on the weekends. It can be tough not being able to see and feel your produce before ordering it online but my first experience has assured me that they pick out great food to deliver to your door.

I placed an order in December 29th, 2014, for a Jan 4th delivery, a gift for my mom worth $ 141. It never arrived. I called on Jan 8th. Voice mail was full. I emailed them; no response. I emailed them again today, with a read receipt; no response so far… Not sure where to go next, as they are not reachable, and since this was a gift, timing was important. Very disappointing.

I had a terrible experience with SPUD which can be read about in my previous review. I contacted them and advised them of all of my concerns and told them I wanted to cancel my service. Today I received another order that I never placed and was charged for it. I sent the delivery driver away with it and immediately sent them an email explaining my concerns and asking for a refund. I also noticed that they never refunded the last items that did not come with my order earlier this month. I logged into my SPUD online account to make sure all of my orders are cancelled and was going to delete my credit card information, but I could not find any standing orders or a place to delete my credit card info… talk about horrible! I highly recommend not using SPUD as they don’t seem to understand how to treat customers fairly and with respect.
