I decided to give this place another try, as I wanted something light to eat, and if they were as slow as last time, it didn’t matter this lazy day. Whatevs. Fortunately that was not an issue, as our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Kept it small this time, with a Philly roll and I HAD to try the salmon sushi tacos. The Philly roll(deep fried) came out hot, maybe a touch too much cream cheese, but too much cream cheese is a good problem to have. A couple slices were ginormous, I’m not used to taking three bites to polish off a single roll. The flavour was agreeable, I’ve had better and I’ve had worse. The salmon tacos were refreshing, light shells housed fresh veggies and delicious salmon. As a heavily bearded man, I looked as the tacos and imagined the clean up, but actually held together quite well. I will definitely have them again. I would say they are one of the better priced items as well. Sushi Shop left a very poor impression on me the first time I tried them, but have turned around and made me want to turn around and get some more. The last barrier to my final star is that Sushi Shop is very slightly pricier than many other sushi restaurants, but that won’t stop me from returning.

first time was today so will only give it a 4 star until I try again which I will. I had an order of the flame and order of Tikka. both were excellent and portion sizes was very good. came with lots of Wasabi and ginger that was fresh and flavourful tuna had such a nice fresh taste, color. did not seem too pricy when you compare freshness of making it on the spot to some crappy burger stand in the court. Was very surprised at how quickly it was finished, took me longer to decide what I wanted from a very extensive menu. next time I will try something different and add a Ramen soup .CAN’T WAIT

This is an amazing little gem for a food court patron. They have Vancouver quality sushi & creative cute presentations. I got a little excited having my normal food court lunch here! They are a little over priced for sushi but everything is made fresh right there, so well worth the $ 6.95 for 4 ball of sushi. I tried these salmon bombs as they would call them, these cute balls of sushi with a cream cheese crunchiness surprise inside. Goodness. I have a few favourite place for lunch when I need to refuel. Thank you Sushi Shop for that!

First time we tried them. They were friendly and got our sushi to us in less then ten minutes! We got three different rolls. The dragon eye, the rainbow roll and the volcano roll. They were all delicious! Definitely recommend!

I love sushi, and I love trying new places. When I seen that the Sushi Shop in Kingsway mall opened, I just had to stop by. My sushi didn’t take long to make, and was delicious. I forgot the name, but I’ll update this review when I get the name. It was so delicious that I went back the next day. This time, I ordered the«lion» sushi. I ended up throwing it in the trash. It was made with something sour and kind of rubbery instead of rice, and had way too much sauce. The people making your sushi will probably be checking one of the pamphlets while making it. I do feel a bit worried that my sushi might vary in taste according to who is preparing it. Service is nothing special. They just take your order. The first time I went by, I asked the cashier some questions and he said he didn’t know much. So I recommend grabbing a pamphlet to figure out what you want.

The food was good and really that’s fine, but when you’re at at a food court, it’s a pit stop, an ends to a mean. It’s not supposed to be a time consuming event and this, well this was definitely that. I ordered two things, a roll and an order of Maki(2 pieces). There was one person ahead of me and I literally waited more than twenty minutes before my order came up. Twenty minutes for fast food sushi? That’s not ok when there are three people behind the counter falling all over each other but no one is actually making anything. Not for the amount they’re charging. Was it delicious? Yes! Was it worth my time? Not really…

As far as food court sushi goes, these guys are top notch. They just opened up and they already have a phenomenal menu filled with unique goodies. My wife and I had the Salmon Truffle rolls because we love all things truffle and they were unreal. So fresh. I also loved the Dragon Eye Rolls. They were much lighter then others I have had and the crispy outside was filled with flavor. All in all, super good.
