If you’re a fan of playing pool or billiards, the Highrun is the place for you! But, if you’re not such a fan, then move on. Although this place is pretty big and offers more than a dozen pool & billiards tables, as well as TV screens and plenty of seating, it is not somewhere I would wanna take friends for drinks and food. I’ve eaten here a few times and the food is okay, but the atmosphere is sort of depressing and dull. There’s potential here, but it has remained generally the same since the first time I came here(10 years ago) up until just weeks ago. The Highrun is also directed towards sports fans, with sports memorabilia lining the walls and TV’s tuned into sports channels. No dancing, no karaōke, an no outdoors seating. I Heart Edmonton

Service is so bad here and always is! I sometimes get conned into coming here for work meetings and I always think«why did I not just bring my own lunch?!» It is really quite gross here and I will never be back!

Small town atmosphere. Step through the door and all you can smell is testosterone. Great little spot. I will go back, but don’t have to get back. It’ll be there when I am in the mood.

I really enjoyed coming here. My boyfriend and I wanted supper and an Oilers game, and we ended up here. It was my first time(but not his) so I had no idea what to expect. If you come in here realizing that this is a pool hall, you will not leave disappointed. No, the food is not gourmet, no the décor is not trendy. It’s a pool hall people. And I love it for that! Big screens all around to watch the game, a ridiculous amount of pool tables and two snooker tables. the food was tasty. After our meal we played pool(duh) and it was a lot of fun. The tables aren’t coin operated– you pay based on the amount of time you play. The bathrooms have been recently renovated and are really nice! Overall I had a good night here!

They now offer lunch and beer specials which is a good thing. But they now charge a mandatory 18 percent tip on your bill for groups, irrespective of whether they forgot your order or you had poor service(e.g. had to wait half hour for your bill). Food is a little better than before, but still very average. But they have 16 pool tables, most I’ve seen anywhere. And TV screens.

Ohhh boy! The Highrun club is something else. I came here with a group for a quick lunch a couple weeks ago and I still have mixed feelings about my visit. The positive: we were on a tight schedule and they had no problem with us phoning and making our food orders ahead of time. This was really helpful of them. The service was also really good. When there was a mistake on my order(brought me fries instead of salad), the waitress apologized and fixed it within minutes. Everything was also super cheap! I ended up coming out of there spending less than $ 10. That’s almost as good as going to the nearby McDonalds. The negative: the atmosphere itself leaves something to be desired. It’s dark and dingy. All of the seniors playing pool here seemed to love it, but I can’t help but wonder if it’s more of a nostalgic«we’ve been coming here for years» kind of love than an actual enjoyment. The biggest issue we had was that the menu on their website is completely outdated. Another vegetarian in our party had to go through three different choices before finding a meal he could eat. They no longer have cheese pizza, veggie burgers, or veggie stir-fry. I had ordered the grilled cheese and luckily it was still on the menu. However, it was not served on «Texas toast» as the website advertised, but on regular bread. I probably won’t be coming back here. I live too far away to make the effort to go somewhere that was pretty underwhelming. However, if I did live in the neighbourhood I could see myself coming back to try it out on a Friday night or something.

First off let me say I didnt come for billiards so that didnt impact my experience at all. I did go to meet some friends and watch the pugilism that is UFC. My first impression was spacious neighborhhod Pub(with lots of pool tables). I thought the food was okay but not great; just a muchie platter; service was okay till she had us clear the tab, when she got a nice tip the service bettered. Verall, no complaints, no rave reviews earns McNally High Run Club a solid 3 out of 5 for me. A couple random notes: 1)I have heard thier wings are great and wing night is the day to go. 2) the washroom smelled awful. You expect a certain aroma but it was overkill, I was looking for the uncleaned catbox in the corner all night.
