I think Alex F. hit the nail on the head when she referred to it as a slightly more expensive dollar store. It has a fairly bizarre line up of accessories that falls under the category of mid to low quality. Just like a thrift store however if you pick through it you are bound to find the odd treasure. I got a really nice winter scarf for my boyfriend here for around eight dollars as well as a bag of sports socks for five. They appear to also have some great deals on brand name cosmetics but I have always been leery of deeply discounted product that I either eat or put on my face. I think if your on a tight budget or buying for a male who could care less about brand names this isn’t a bad place. It’s tidy and the staff is reasonably friendly but the quality and overall tackiness of some of the merchandise makes it come off as not much more then a junk store.

Contrary to previous reviews, this store insofar as I can tell has nothing to do with magic. There used to be a store in this mall, way back when, called«Fun Under $ 5.» It sold really cheap toys and things of the sort — a dollar store but more expensive. Well, if that store instead sold bags and umbrellas, you’d get this place. Picture in your mind the most cheaply made, tacky, ugly scarves /bags /what have you that you can. Good? OK, now if you want to buy that, go here.

The store is located at Town Center mall and when I first looked around I thought why they would name it the Mad Hatter’s. They sell such a random assortment of things like brooms, umbrellas, carpets, pictures, magic accessories. It really made no sense. The store is not a store you crave to go to but it is something you can browse around if you stumble onto it and then you might find something neat. As I was leaving I realized it must be called Mad Hatter’s superstore because it is thrown together in a rather crazy way like the character.

The Mad Hatter’s Superstore might seem like it’s just a magic store from the outside, but they sell a whole bunch of accessories. I stumbled across this store when I was looking for a new umbrella. I didn’t think they had one, but to my surprise there were a bunch of umbrellas sitting right there… for only $ 5! These were pretty decent, although somewhat small umbrellas, so for $ 5 I wasn’t complaining. They have a whole bunch of magic accessories if that’s what your looking for. Juggling scarves, gags, that kind of thing. So if you’re in South Edmonton and need a magic store, I guess this is your place. Everything was very cheap, too.
