our group of 10 decided to book a reservation for a private room for 5pm today. The restaurant said it was good but when we got there they had the wrong amount of people and the wrong time. The restaurant was able to accommodate us and find us a suitable table that was not in a private room. Then the bigger problems began. Our waitress named Sasha gave the table nothing but attitude since she began to serve us. For our group of ten we decided on 5 cheese fondue and 3 chocolate fondue and an assorment of drinks. Two of us have several allergies and when we asked her about them her response literally was«it’s cheese and chocolate» que the actual rolling of her eyes. This was awful because both of us reacted and we didn’t want to say anything because of the attitude she gave us. We felt that she did not want to be at work and was taking it out on all of us. Because it was two peoples birthday we got this«extra» package that was supposed to have flowers and a few other things. We got a photo that any of our phones could of taken and it come out better. We got 5 balloons and a handful of chocolate that we could of got at bulk barn for $ 2. Our group wasn’t even finished eating and the waitress came with the bill. She continued to come back every 2 minutes even through we asked for some time to divide the bill. Also the bill was wasn’t divided. We expected it to be divided by group and it was all together. She never even asked how or if to divide it. Also, We asked for more fruit and got another eye roll and a «really» under her breath. This happened one more time and we decided to stop ordering because really with the attitude we got why would we order more. Our bill was over $ 400 and it was good. However we all ended up getting fast food after.

Went with my boyfriend for our anniversary. Staff were so friendly and service was exceptional. The cost is actually quite decent seeing as the food was superb, and you get a lot! Definitely would recommend for a date night. Very romantic.

I love coming to the Melting Pot. The food is delicious and being a seasoned pro, the menu isn’t intimidating. I love the variety when I do the«Fondu For You» menu option. Recently they had an «All You Can Eat» promo going on after 8pm that was amazing, because while the meal is pretty filling at regular price, it was awesome getting another side of meat after our first was done. I REALLY hope they make his a permanent feature, or at least do it more often. Makes it feel like you’re really getting your money’s worth. I love the atmosphere and the socializing aspect of the meal. It’s not a «just sit and eat» type establishment, it promotes social interaction while your food cooks. While I enjoy this part of the experience, I deducted one star for the length of service. The staff is always great, sweet and personable but a few times we’ve gone, it takes so long in between courses or refills of dippers that the fondu burns. That is my only complaint, other than that, I highly recommend checking out The Melting Pot for a unique dining experience ^_^

Finally tried The Melting Pot! After years of wanting to go finally a cracking deal inspired me to get my a$$ in gear. They featured a great special during the month of April — AYCE3 course fondue(cheese, meat, chocolate) and a salad for $ 40/person after 830 pm which is a HELLOF A DEAL. Firstly, the place is N-I-C-E, NICE! It’s a mix of open inviting spaces perfect for families and big groups and also cozy, intimate booths which is Über romantic. Very rich and dark colour scheme with lots of wood. It’s also huge. Take a little stroll around just to have a boo. It’s an interesting layout. Our waitress was just awesome. They really bust their asses. They have to be so interactive as well as efficient and it’s no small feat to keep up that level of energy. On to the FOOD. I was impressed. I wasn’t absolutely blown away but it was definitely yummy. The cheese fondue wasn’t cheesy enough for my taste as funny as that sounds. And I thought the veg and bread section could have been rounded out a little more. The breads were just a mix of 2 slice white baguettes and the veg was only broccoli, tomato and carrots. Still all tasty stiff though. Meat course was awesome. The steak and shrimps were off the chain and it was really fun and different to sit with the bf and cook and and chat. The mushrooms and broccoli were excellent cooked in the broth too. The potatoes were the only let down. They took forever to cook and then just ended up pretty grainy in the end. CHOCOLATEWASDEADLY. I mean there’s not much to be said about being served a bowl of warm melty chocolate with assorted cakes and fruits to dip. Pretty self explanatory. It was a novelty and I very much enjoyed it and it was well worth the $ 40 deal however I likely won’t return. I came, I fondued, I enjoyed myself, and I could see myself returning for a special occasion in the future or if I was invited but I’m not expecting to be a regular.

I’m not sure what happened but my last 4 or so visits here have not lived up to my previous love affair with the melting pot. From burned out burners to tables that supposedly fit 6 yet have the server reaching across your face with their arm pit in your face to reach the 2nd burner, it’s just not making me want to come back. Don’t get me wrong, I think for«Lover’s Lane» this place still has it going on and the Ladies’ night out and Kids’ events are still pretty neat but for a group of 5 or 6 it’s rather difficult to celebrate say a birthday day. Last week, we had reservations for 5 but the group table had a burned out burner in the bar so we were sat at one of the booths. It was difficult for us to reach across the table with out getting in the way of one another. Also, service has been lacking on my last couple of visits. Both last week(with new Melting Pot visitors) and a few months back the server didn’t take the time to explain things like — the cheese/chocolate will get REALLY hot at the bottom of the pot and don’t eat off the fondue fork because it gets really HOT. I remembered this stuff from previous visits but a few in our group did not. Melting Pot, I used to be your #1 fan but as of late, I don’t find myself wanting to go back :-(

This place has awful customer service. I emailed and called three times about paying for someone’s meal there(I don’t live in the city but knew people who were going there for a celebratory dinner) and I never heard a single peep back. I refuse to give them a single cent.

The Melting Pot is a great experience when you’re looking for something different. You’re in for a fun dinner with your two hour seating. We went as a foursome on a Monday night. Even on Monday, the place was packed! You’ll definitely want to make reservations a week or so ahead of your ideal time to make sure you can get in. The four of us all went for the dinner that includes the cheese, salad, main and chocolate for around $ 51, the 4-course experience. With four of us we got to choose two different cheeses, two different broths for the mains and two chocolate fondues. We went for the four cheese and the baked potato for the cheese round. Holy amazing. the Quatro was my fav and we almost powered through all of the bread, veggies and apples that came with it. With this dinner plan, everyone gets their individual salad. Four choices were available but I’m almost always a Caesar salad girl. This one was great and a nice fresh break after the cheese. The Hubba Hubby and I chose two different entres with the idea that we would share them. We went with the classic, which came with five different meats(steak, chicken, shrimp and pork) and the French Quarter, which has shrimp, sausage and more. Everything was fantastic. The angus steak was amazing, as well all of the chicken. We were really rooting for the steak all round but the chicken really surprised us with how amazing it was! You can’t go wrong with chocolate and we went with the original(chocolate and peanut butter) and the flaming turtle — a flambé style with chocolate, caramel and candied pecans. The food was five star all around. Service was a solid 3.5÷4. It took a long time for plates to be cleared off and even though the gentleman with the water would visit all the tables around us, we had to flag him down several times to stop at ours. And why is the Manager combing his hair where I can see him? Overall I would definitely be back as it would be fun to go for a romantic evening, for a dinner with the girls or with your parents. It’s a nice dinner to relax and connect over while enjoying incredible food!

Bleah. Went a few months ago with hubby and a couple friends who really wanted to go. We do fondue at our place with friends probably once a year and really enjoy it. The thought of not having to clean up afterwards made us want to go and try it. Very disappointing. Sauces were strangely flavoured, cheese fondues had weird variations, ingredients were ok but not the peak of freshness. Service was spotty. We ordered bottles of wine and champagne and there was almost zero space to hold glasses, plates, and all the other meal components. They seem more focused on up selling your bill than they are serving what you ordered. We absolutely won’t be back. Nothing impressive about it at all.

I would have to say of all the restaurants I have ever eaten at this is in the top 4. The Mojo sauce is amazing! Big Night Out is mind blowing good. All the dipping sauces match perfectly with the meats. If you try a tipsy turtle you may have a new favorite drink. Frangelico Kalhua and dark chocolate mixes for a perfect dessert. The romance package is a perfect date. Also bring your wallet…

i had limited expectation from this place, but was pleasantly surprised that it was overall not as disappointing an experience as I thought it would be. The staff was very friendly and i am sure that the fondue was somehow both original and traditional. In any case, if you would like to spend a large some of money once or twice a year on an unusual way of having dinner, then this place is a pretty good choice. Alternatively you could try a Korean grill, where you cook your own meat as well, only on an indoor bbq.

It’s a fun place to go. I go occasionally with a group of ladies for the Ladies Night Out events, which take place the last Monday of the month. With a special, less expensive(but no less tasty) menu, drink specials, and usually a fun theme and prizes, these nights tend to be the best bang for the buck! Go hungry and prepare to roll yourself away when you’re done with all the melty goodness. If your chocolate fondue is flambeed at the table, do yourself a solid and roast one of the Graham cracker covered marshmallows over the flame while it cooks before dipping it in the chocolate. You’ll thank me later. The service is usually pretty solid(the last time we went we had a girl that hadn’t ever worked a ladies night and didn’t know what to expect or how to work with the special menu, but it wasn’t the end of the world). The décor there is meant to be intimate with lots of little nooks and crannies with tables. The plus to this is it’s private/romantic. The Con is that you will probably get lost either/both going to/coming from the washroom. That’s just the way things are. Due to the nature of the table, with electronic elements on them, there is no moving the tables together for big parties. The layout is firm. If you can book with 5 – 6 people, though, you get a slightly larger table with two elements, rather than one. That means two flavours for every course! Win! it’s a fun place for special events, but while they do their best for allergies, since it’s communal cooking, you might want to discuss with your group if this is right for you if there are severe reactions possible. We have a severe seafood allergy in my group, and we just had to all agree to sub out the shrimp for another protein since it’s all cooked in the same broth, or shrimp is only allowed in one pot. Just something to keep in mind!

Fantastic! Went with a bunch of girlfriends. It was nice for the occasion(belated Christmas party), however as the courses kept coming i just couldn’t stop eating. So wear stretchy pants haha. It was the first time for a lot of us and we all left uncomfortably full, it definitely is a place for when you wanna hang out and mellow out for a few hours. Don’t let the entrée portions fool you. It’s a lot but it’s worth it.

The Melting Pot is a great place for a slightly spendy novelty date night, family night or girls’ night out. On the menu, there are at least 6 types of cheese fondues($ 10 – 13 per person), salads($ 7.50−8.50 per person), meat/seafood/vegetarian fondue entrees($ 17 – 27 per person) that you can cook in a broth based fondue(complimentary — or you can get different seasonings or flavours for an added $ 7 per table), and dessert chocolate fondue($ 9.5−11 per person)! A 4-course preset meal of combos the above runs $ 39 – 56. The whole table(of 4 anyway) shares one pot, so everyone has to agree on a communal cheese, broth, dessert fondue to dip stuff in. The portion sizes(number of bread pieces, meat, sweets they gie you to dip) are decent and I always walk away feeling stuffed, especially if I’ve done the 4 course thing. My favourites are the cheddar cheese fondue(with cheddar, emmenthaler cheese, beer and garlic) to start, and the flaming turtle chocolate fondue(milk chocolate, caramel, candied pecans) or s’mores fondue(milk chocolate, marshmallow cream, graham crackers). But the Yin & Yang fondue(mix of dark and white chocolate) actually comes out as a yin yang in the pot! So cool! The main course is actually my least favourite part(it’s more of a formality… you can get better steak, seafood, chicken, etc dishes at most other restaurants. And cheaper for basically the same thing if you go to a hot pot-style restaurant!). Service has always been quick and friendly(make a reservation!), no complaints. I never felt rushed with my dinner there, and it can take long between the 4 different courses. Maybe someday I’ll make it to the restaurant apres dinner for a cheesy and chocolaty snack and forego the main! One final tip — subscribe to their mailing list — there are monthly special themed events for kids, moms, dads, girlfriends, etc! And you can get a coupon for free chocolate dipped strawberries on your birthday :)(although one time they were out of them, so they gave me a $ 12 discount off dinner, which was even better!)

Overall my experience at this restaurant was a positive one. The food was delicious, and the layout and atmosphere of the restaurant was beautiful. What was the coolest thing I’ve seen in a long time was you got your own little fondue burners built right into the table, which was pretty darn awesome! The fondue stove wasn’t built into the table in a tacky or in an awkward way at all. They really went above and beyond to make it look and work perfectly. This spot has to be the best in Edmonton to go to for a first date, anniversary or to celebrate an(adult) birthday. I don’t know how I feel about taking kids to a place like this. Just hot oil and grabby kids may end in a few burns. The one thing I didn’t like how expensive a simple meal cost. For a friend and I just ordering the basics(No cocktails, etc) the bill was over $ 100! I went back to «The Melting Pot» few days ago on a Friday for a date. I’m a Vegetarian and my date was an Omnivore. So they brought out my meal almost immediately, and then we waited for his dish to come so we could cook them in the fondue together. I didn’t want to be rude and start cooking my food at the table, while he hasn’t even received his yet. We waited 20 minutes till it arrived(We were both just STARVING!) Overall a great place to go for a unique dining experience. I just wish it was a little more affordable, and not nearly as impossible as it currently is to get in without a reservation. If you show up without one, expect a wait easily up to an hour or longer.

If you are after a «dinning experience», and have the time, and money to indulge in your evening out… Then this one is for you! Whether u come with lots of friends, or someone you’d like to get to know better, it’s sure to please! Deffinitely deserves a try. Their 3 course meal is top notch! Appatizer fondu… main and dessert fondus! So decadent! If time is if the essence, going with just one course is a must. The nature if fondu is such that the eating process is dragged out. Theis csn be a blessing or a curse! All depends on your company and the conversation! We will most deffinitely be back!

I’ve been to the Melting Pot many times since they opened. I have had mostly all great experiences, tonight was a great time! My Mom booked dinner for my birthday, and I suggested there as being a member of their club fondue they emailed me s coupon for 6 free chocolate covered strawberries. The club is free to sign up & you find out about upcoming events ahead of time, great reminder if you aren’t on social media to see their info always. My Favorite fondue to start is the classic cheddar. For an entrée I always skip the salad, so then there’s more room for your entrée & of course chocolate fondue :) As a vegetarian I am not the best a recommending an entrée for you, but you have many choices from land & sea! For your dessert chocolate, there are about 7 to choice from. 1 always changes for the feature of the month. Cool thing about the feature is that $ 1 from everyone sold, goes to the charity of the month Melting Pot has chosen. Personally I recommend the smore’s fondue, but add peanut butter. You’re welcome.

So we went to the melting pot for a birthday celebration/business meeting/business celebration. the staff was very friendly and helpful they didn’t mind that i had to move my reservation because we were late. when we arrived I started to feel like it was too fancy for me. now i’m a pretty simple guy a burger and a soda and it’s a good night for me. So i don’t usually jive with places like this. that being said melting pot staff was great they took the wheel noting how hopeless i was and guided us through the process. we took an experience i was still a little foggy on the details but it came with cheese steak and chocolate so yeah lets roll. stage one arrives we get a very tasty bowl of delicious cheese along with bread vegetables and apples. It was amazing the vegetable and apples were nice and crispy and the bread was awesome we ate all of it but still had cheese so they gave us a second batch and we cheesed it up is was great. and we was just getting started. then came the main course mushrooms more vegetables steak and lobster. they gave us a pot of boily flavor broth, like i said i’m a simple guy but it was great are it all up and our server was great about telling us how everything worked. when we hit the end ohhhhhhh the end some kind of chocolate peanut butter chocolate goodness from heaven and they give us cake and mushrooms and fruit ohhhhhhh mah god i could have eaten it straight from the bowl the burns would be worth it overall i love it great place good price even with 4 people and steak and lobster and chocolate heaven at the end

I really enjoy visiting The Melting Pot. In fact this restaurant was one of my favourite American chains and I was super excited for when it came to Edmonton! I’ve been here twice now and have enjoyed both visits. Once was with a larger group that included a baby and I was surprised and pleased that they had bassinet holders available for the table. The other time was as a date night to celebrate my birthday and I truly enjoyed it. It is well worth signing up for their email list if only because around your birthday you’ll be able to come in with a voucher for free chocolate covered strawberries to come home with from your dinner outing! Both times I’ve been here have been to celebrate my birthday and it has been nice to be able to savour these strawberries on the days following the dinner out. My favourite fondue course is pretty reliably the cheese course. Apples and cheese, bread with cheese, veggies with cheese, each of these go together rather well. The salad options here are rather good and don’t have too much salad dressing. The beverage options are limited for fancy non-alcoholic options but I do love having berries floating in my beverage so that is always fun! The meat course is awesome in part because of the adventure of cooking the different kinds of meat. It would be nice if a timer were available at the table to keep track of how long one is cooking the various meats(chicken especially) but smart phones work well. Finally the chocolate courses are yummy but often I am too full to want to eat more! For each of the courses one can get more items to dip in the sauce(or cook in the sauce) which is a nice touch if one runs out of veggies or bread or fruit etc. Our server was great at my most recent visit here. She interacted well with us at our table. I was really quite happy with my visit.

The melting pot is one of those places where you will probably only go to for a special occasion once per year. It is an amazing experience. From the décor being very nice and classy to the mood and lighting are slightly dimmed to provide an intimate atmosphere to the food being delicious. This is the perfect place to take your special someone. A lot of the seating areas are designed to be quite small and closed off so that you have some privacy. There are very good cuddling opportunities available. :) Now we get to the food. You are generally ordering a 4 course meal. It starts with the cheese with bread and some veggies. Then you have your soup or salad. This is then followed by your meat dishes and if your still not tapping out after all that then you have your chocolate. Everything that we had was amazing. If you want to take your date out to a restaurant that will impress her and give you plenty of opportunities to steal a kiss or two look no further. This is a fantastic place to eat.
