Uniway Computers & Auto Lighting

I wish I could leave negative stars for this company. I dropped my laptop off at Uniway Computers because 1 hinge was starting to crack and I didnt want the 2 pieces of my laptop to break in half.
Less than a week later they told me I could come pick it up and when I went there they had taken the tops off of BOTH hinges and just glued the 2 laptop pieces together. There was also a new crack all along my laptop which I told the man and he said it must have been there before which I know for a fact it was not. I told him I wasn’t pleased that they are charging me this much ($ 85!) just to glue it back together and add a new crack but I paid for the services and left.
Once I got back to my office I plugged my laptop in and the whole screen was cracked and broken; completely black on the left side and everything was jumbled together on the right side. I went back (with my dad this time) and the guy working said he could keep my laptop again to fix it. My dad advised me against this because they would probably just make things worse again and we could possibly get it fixed by someone else. The guy working said there was nothing else he could do about breaking my $ 600 laptop (which was broken beyond repair unfortunately.)
I really wish I did more than I did about this at the time as a few months have passed now. I don’t know how people like this are in business, they completely ruined my laptop that just had a minor issue.
DO NOT GO HERE!

These guys have some pretty good deals on PCs. I was in Edmonton and got something here for my grandma. She loves it. Excellent service.

I wish there’s an option of not giving a star at all cause that’s what I would pick fr this place.
Came here a week ago to get new screen for my iPhone. When I got home and changed my screen, it didn’t even work. It turned on fr a few mins and then the screen went black and started over heating. Then It won’t turn on again.
I drove fr more than half hour as I am coming from the other side of town back to this place. Finally they had to get a completely different screen. They install it and charged me additional $ 20. In my opinion a good service would’ve been installing it fr free because they sold me a faulty screen. Clearly there’s no quality in their product.
When he was installing it he dropped a little metal piece that’s suppose to be fr wifi and told me that I lost it. I looked around and found it ON THE FLOOR! Nice try though.
So I go home and I discover that they didn’t even put all the screws that holds the screen down. So they actually kept all the screws that belongs to my phone.
Anyways PLEASE AVOD GOING TO THIS PLACE AT ALL COST! It’s not worth it! ITS NOTHING BUT A RIP OFF.

I don’t know how these people stay in business. I had a repair job that I called about. The guy on the phone said, come on down, no problem. I took them my phone to fix, and a guy who I later found out didn’t even work there tells me that they don’t have the part and that he will call when the part comes in. A week goes by and I’ve heard nothing. I call and the guy says weeeeell you have to go to the other store anyway. I call the other store, which is called, «Uniway Computers & Auto Lighting Ltd,» (hello — tipoff, not a great computer store) and talked to the guy there and decided it was worth driving the half hour because he said he could fix it while I waited. Well, you know how the story ends — getting stuck on Groat Road behind a fender bender, and I’m there at 6:10 looking at two signs, one that says Hours Monday– Friday something something — 6:30 and another one that says CLOSED. And the guy knew I was coming in. From the quality of the customer service, I decided to take my phone elsewhere.
