Islington Medical Centre & Travel Clinic

I came in a couple weeks ago for a travel consultation, and met with the nurse and the doctor because I had some questions about whether I needed any vaccines to go to Thailand. I was a little hesitant to visit this clinic after seeing some of the reviews, but as it turns out, I had a very pleasant experience! They introduced me to the new nurse they hired and she was very knowledgeable, patient and helpful. I don’t feel like my appointment was rushed at all and I appreciate the fact that the nurse took as much time as she felt necessary to answer all my questions and to give the proper recommendations. The doctor popped in at the end and approved all the recommendations but most of the appointment is with the nurse. Overall I would definitely recommend this clinic to anyone travelling, they have greatly improved on their customer service and I’m glad they have hired a new nurse because I read bad reviews on the previous nurse. I will definitely be coming back to this clinic as I plan on doing more volunteer work abroad and I feel well prepared coming out of that clinic that I have all the necessary information and treatment/​vaccines required to travel.

Absolutely garbage service, doctor there is a perfect example of «I only here to give prescription and not to help» charged me $ 65 for a walk in visit and said to claim it from the provincial government. If you need medical help I would go anywhere but there. Never going there again!!!

This clinic is awful, the Doctor wasn’t helpful at all. I had some general questions about my trip and he wasn’t very detailed with the answers. The nurse opened a Twinrix vaccination by mistake and kept pushing me to take the shot even though the doctor didn’t prescribe it. The nurse kept saying she had opened it in error and that I would need it someday so I might as well take it now. I took 4 shots and when I asked the nurse if I should wait for 15 minutes as advised by the doctor, she told me I would be fine. When I was asking her questions about some of the medication prescribed she said «I don’t have all day, I have to do inventory, quick what is it»!!! I paid close to $ 650 and the service I received both from the Doctor and the Nurse was awful. I would never recommend anybody going there. The nurse specially should be a barred from working at any medical facility.

This travel clinic is a SCAM. I went in there and they tried to charge me more than $ 330 for immunizations that my wife had done elsewhere for less than half of that. In fact she needed more immunizations than I did. This is just a racket to rip off people needing travel immunizations. Go elsewhere.
