While driving around Ontario, I’ve driven past several Crabby Joe’s locations along my route. My first impression was that this restaurant was a seafood place, but then I realized it was more of a Canadian style restaurant and pub, similar to Kelsey’s and Montana’s Cookhouse. Crabby Joe’s serves up a variety of offerings including appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, salads, soups, flatbreads, poutines, fajitas, stir frys, steaks, chicken, seafood, ribs, pasta, and desserts. Coke fountain drinks and frozen drinks are served here. The prices here are moderate, most entrees priced $ 10.99-$ 21.99. A Lunch Menu(7 choices under $ 10) is also offered until 4PM. Specials are offered including Kids Eat Free on Sundays and half price appetizers daily after 9PM. When I was rolling into Exeter around high noon, I decided to stop in at the Crabby Joe’s for lunch. I was promptly seated in the pub area, which offers a full bar with several beers on tap and flatscreen TVs with sports on, the CFL highlights were on! The bartender/server came over to my table and told me about the 35 cent wing special(Tuesdays) and I had to buy a beverage to take advantage of the offer. However, I decided to go with just an ice water and the Lunch Fish Tacos($ 9.99) served with a garden side salad. The food took awhile to come out, approximately 20 minutes after ordering. I took advantage of the free wifi access while waiting. The 2 Fish Tacos($ 9.99) were decent sized which were filled with lettuce, red cabbage, tomato, shredded cheese & grilled soft basa filets, cilantro, carrot slaw, guacamole, and a spicy ancho chipotle dressing. The side salad was fresh romaine lettuce, tomato, red onion, cucumber, croutons, carrots, red cabbadge, and dressing on the side. The food overall tasted good. The service here was not super quick, but acceptable as I used the free wifi to pass the time. The total time of this lunch visit was 50 minutes(longer than my normal lunch break of 30 minutes). I was not in a real big hurry since I was taking my time driving through Southwest Ontario before heading back to the USA later in the day.
