I ran across this little gem of a place by chance and stopped in for dinner. The service staff are super friendly and nice! I had the liver and onions 10oz serving. One slice was a tad dry, but the meal was overall pretty good. The prices are reasonable too. I will be back on my next run through Fredericton.

I lived in the Fredericton area for University a few years back. When I did, I had been here a handful of times and remember it being pretty decent with yummy pies and servers on rollerskates… so what happened? On a recent mini vacation back to NB, I came here with my parents and brother. Upon entering, we were greeted by a frantic server saying it would be a moment to clear a table… ummm okay there were like 2 other tables in the restaurant with like 20+ empty ones. While waiting, I noticed that they no longer had the same pies and the dessert fridge seemed to be lacking. I also noticed there were no servers wearing rollerskates — disappointing! Once sat, we noticed that the diner’s across the way had just returned their food for a hair in their salad. We should have left then, but, having experience in the kitchen, we all knew that sometimes that is hard to avoid especially when the expos/servers do not wear hair nets(who is to say the hair did not fall into the food AFTER it left the kitchen). So we ordered our drinks… my fathers tea cup was dirty, and not just a speck, it was clearly dirty — hint # 2 that we should have left. I ordered the club wrap and sweet potatoe fries. It is hard to go wrong with that, so it was decent, good portion, was not overly a fan of the mayo dip for the fries though; it tasted like tex mex spice mixed with mayo. My brother was disappointed with his hot turkey sandwhich, consisting of lukewarm(congealed) gravy, fake mash, and routine veggies. My father’s club sandwhich had way too much may on it, and my mothers burger was plain jane(and made her sick later on). The odd thing was the turkey in my wrap and my dad’s club sandwhich seemed like the pre-packaged processed stuff, whereas my brother’s turkey on his sandwhich appeared to be the real thing. We skipped dessert. This place has gone way down hill since its days when I lived in Fredericton for University. I would say avoid as there are other, better, restaurants in town.

It’s a diner. That’s about it. Diner food, diner taste. But their pie really is amazing.

Ordered fish and chips. The fish was still swimming, in grease. My «dinner» was served to me on a dessert plate, with the fish piled on top of the fries. Not much room to maneuver. Asked waitress for a side plate, and when she didn’t return after 5 minutes, my boyfriend went to the kitchen to request 2 extra plates. He was given two tea cup saucers. Gee thanks. Bottom line, fish was too greasy and tasted bland. We didn’t finish our meal. Mentioned our concerns to the waitress, asked for the bill. Waitress was indifferent, didn’t offer an apology, or comp.

I had very low expectations, but this place turned out to be ok. We went an hour before closing on a weeknight so we were the only people there. Nothing stood out as either good or bad. I had the fish and chips and was pleasantly surprised. The batter was nice and crispy and I enjoyed my meal.
