This place is a wonderful little gem, hidden away in a suburban part of Gatineau. The owners are a husband a wife who seem to truly love what they do and it shows in the service and food. I had a shrimp pasta, my party had the grilled cheese with bacon with a poutine, the pansit, a Filipino dish, and a bacon omelette with a salad. The details of every dish were just right, love was really the secret ingredient in these dishes which seems to be the reason for their success. If I lived in Gatineau or the Ottawa area I would definitely be a regular. The prices are unbelievable for the value and quality of your meal and the service is charming. For non-French speakers like myself and my party, the owner graciously took us through the menu in perfect English.

This place was amazing from start to finish. We were greeted warmly by the chef in both official languages as soon as we walked in the door. Encouraged to take our choice of seats. Coffee was tasty Bridgehead, served bottomless and a la carte. Servers were super friendly, and we ordered two eggs Benedict(bacon and smoked salmon varients) and French toast. All of us agree that our dishes were one of the best we can remember. End of the day, super friendly staff and super delicious food made this the best breakfast place I’ve been to in the NCR.

Menu included a good selection of food at very reasonable prices. We had Eggs Benedict on a fresh croissant. All fresh and very tasty. Coffee was self-serve, hot, and flavorful. Best part of the experience was the attentive service. Loved the fact that the staff regularly came by the table to check on us and gauge our level of satisfaction. They were all excellent.

Food was good and the staff are friendly. The owner can be overheard commenting on presentment of each plate before it goes out. Small /cosy environment and generous portions all for a relatively affordable price.

Amazing little farm-to-table café we discovered! Great prices, super interesting menu, fresh fresh ingredients, friendly owners running the place. I just had quinoa paella w/shrimp, avocado, tomatoes, poached eggs & hollandaise. Delish! A definite re-visit!

Good value and fast! Healthy choice. Would have enjoyed more without the whistling from the cooking area.

This place is absolutely delicious. The prices are extremely reasonable and the quality of food you are getting for the price is unheard of. I have visited a couple times and have never been disappointed in the food! One thing that I only slightly dislike about the place is its atmosphere. The room is decorated quite nicely, but it is kinda cramped when busy with an open kitchen in the back of the room. I wish the kitchen was tucked away so there would be more seating space and less noise. I have bad hearing so personally it’s not for me. One plus of an open kitchen is that you can see how clean and fresh all the ingredients are used in your meals. Fantastic Café. I’ve met the owners and they are very charming people. A couple who live in the area, who have a passion for food and cooking! I will always come back for more.

We stopped for a weekday lunch at this small road side café. The chef greeted us as we entered and we were directed to a side dining room. Clean, bright, well appointed, vinyl lp’s playing on the sound system. We started with the fish chowder which is the finest fish chowder I have tasted. A lovely light but flavour filled cream based broth, fresh herbs, lovely fish and vegetables and a wonderful mouth texture and velvety smooth on the palate. We also had the beef bourguignon and the roast pork. The beef was amazing, with a rich mushroom sauce with mushrooms so full of flavour there is no way they came from the supermarche. It came on a café baked baguette that held up well under the beef and the exposed crust was lovely, without that gum cutting tendency of so many baguettes. The roast pork came smothered in a rich mushroom sauce, with tender fresh vegetables. Two of our diners are pork lovers and declared it probably the best pork they have ever tasted. Service was extremely friendly and attentive. Desserts are made at the café and vary. We had a lemon tart and a chocolate nut coconut bar. The chef offered crème frais on the desserts at no extra charge. Portions are very generous for the price. The owner and his wife are in the café at all times and strive to make your visit a very special time.

Wonderful atmosphere owners charming! I can’t say enough how yummy the candied bacon was on my eggs Benny. CANDIEDBACON Coffee great, prices absolutely fantastic! Everyone left happy bunnies! I will say I took home some chowder and found it tasty also, but the potatoes in it were almost raw.

Came for a coffee, left with an experience. Breakfast was amazing, not your basic diner breakfast. Came with a crisp, buttery croissant, crispy thick bacon, blueberries in sauce, an arugala salad, free refills of surprisingly good coffee. The staff was friendly and customers can play what they like on the record player. Cheap too, the whole breakfast was 7 bucks. I’m coming back for sure!

This place is a gem in Hull. Owned by a chef and wife combo. Great atmosphere. Food is unreal. Everything made on premise. My breakfast was 2 fresh eggs, house made jam and croissant, home fries made from real potato wedges, with truffle olive oil and sprinkled with sea salt, and a generous helping of candied bacon. Oh, and they serve Bridgehead coffee. My bill, $ 12.00. Come on! You gotta check this place out.
