Unusual but true. Here‘s a Wal-Mart location that was welcomed to town. As a fairly long-time resident of the town of Keswick, I have always attempted to patronize local stores, but some purchases always necessitated a twenty to thirty minute drive out of town. Ever tried to get an ink cartridge for a printer or four, three-quarter inch binders in different colours(deemed essential to academic success by one of my kids’ teachers) on a Sunday night? So, while politically I’m not a huge Wal-Mart fan, I can’t help but be glad it’s here. Somehow, though I find the store’s atmosphere a little depressing. But that’s me. I was raised on über-shopping experiences, kind of got used to LA grocery store valet parking and sometimes literally pine for a grocery store like Wegmans…(retailers take note!)
