Over-rated and very expensive. We’d looked forward to eating here for a long time, and were quite disappointed with the food.

Tucked away up on the hill in the centre of Gibson’s Landing, one wouldn’t immediately imagine that this would be a high-quality food location, — but it is. The interior is unprepossessing and we sat out on a pleasant deck. Service throughout was attentive, swift and pleasant. We all started with the beet salad, which was lovely. The beets had not been doused in vinegar as is often the case. The mayonnaise was home-made and the accompanying caramelised pecans etc, made it all very enjoyable. Fish of the day was red snapper, deboned and sat upon a wonderful vegetable risotto. The New York steak had great texture and actually tasted of something. The pflaumen kuchen desert was a slight let down, a bit plain . The owner, who served us from time to time, produced a couple of bottles of excellent wines after we had asked her for recommendations. The whole experience was excellent.
