First timer… friends had been raving about this little mom and pop place in a hotel parking lot. It was fantastic. 6 of us Did the all you can eat and every dish was yummy, service was prompt and the staff was friendly. There is standard seating in the front and 2 more private booths in the back(take off your shoes sort of thing). We will totally go back without hesitation. 2 all u can eats and 1 beer was $ 52 before tip.

Went for the first time over the weekend on the recommendation of a friend whom I trust implicitly about sushi. We were NOT disappointed. With so many things on the menu that we wanted to order the AYCE seemed like the smart way to go. Especially being 13.99 for lunch. I’ve never actually had AYCE sushi because I’ve never heard good things… but this was wonderful. The bf doesn’t eat sushi at all because he hates seaweed and isn’t into sashimi because raw fish doesn’t appeal to him. I, personally, love maki… We had the karage, the spring rolls, the fried rice, the chicken teryaki, beef teryaki, edamame, veggie sushi pizza, the assorted tempura… and I had the yam tempura roll and the asparagus roll. Fantastic. Seriously. We had two orders of some of these dishes and we were so full, fat and happy when we left… the bf couldn’t stop raving about it! The karage wasn’t greasy like I’ve had it at other restaurants. It was light and crisp and was like a Japanese KFC. The one dish that wasn’t so wonderful was the beef tataki… it tasted slightly«off»…but everything else was fresh, freshly made and delish. The staff aren’t exactly at your table every two minutes but that’s not a huge problem. If the staff was a bit more present and the washrooms didn’t smell like an outhouse this would have been a 5. Great value for the money though and we’ll definitely return.

All you can eat sushi, haven’t had that since I left Vegas. That was worth it I should say. Well chalk this up to another bad all you can eat experience. Oh wait, another bad sushi experience in the north all together.(Last time was in Buffalo). I would not recommend the all you can eat but I can’t speak for the other menu options.

Finally one japanese place I can try while i’m here. Ordered the bbq eel pizza, japanese-style with its house sauce, chopped peppers, a bit of onions, and of course generous portions of unagi on a deep-fried rice patty. yummy! Clean décor, great service and does also offer AYCE but I would have to say it’s one of the better ones, not so ‘obvious’. Vancouver doesn’t have these nice-looking ones lol.
