Located just pass Halfmoon bay if your coming from the langdale ferry. Great hike for beginners to intermediate. The first part of the hike is about 15 to 20mins pretty easy straight walk on plank bridges and constructed path ways. This path takes you through swamp areas with beaver dams and ducks, then lands you at Smuggler Cove. Once you get there you have the option to hike the loop around the point of the cove which is a little more challenging but worth the views. The loop probably takes another 15 — 20mins and is a little more ruff going. Lots of picturesque spots and places to chill to take it all in. Don’t forget water, snacks and a camera of course!

Smuggler Cove Marine Provincial Park is a beautiful little park on the Sunshine Coast. There are oppertunities to hike, paddle, swim and scuba dive within the boundarys of this park. It is a 4 km hike to Smugglers cove from the parking lot and there are some more trails that head off further up the cover so that you can get more views of this amazing little treasure of a park. You can also access the cove from the water by paddling in from beyond the cove as well. Either way you will be able to enjoy everything that the park has to offer. There is hike in camping permitted in this park but it is only aloud down at the cove in the camping spots provided. The story behind the name of the cove is that during American prohibition alcohol smugglers would hide in this cove on the way down into the USA as it is hard to spot from the open ocean.
