Bob the Mover

Terrible service. Bob takes the tips from his workers that the customers give them. The workers work hard, and for the owner to steal his workers tips is about as low as you can get. Do not hire this lowlife.

I used Bob. He was a very personable character. Always funny and hardworking mostly on the supervise side of things. He has a small truck so beware as we had it jammed packed one trip and moved a bunch of stuff ourselves from out apt.

In July I hired Bob the Mover for my one bedroom apartment move across the peninsula. This was the first time I’d hired movers. The experience was good customer service overall and no damage but I have a few points. Booking an appointment with Bob was difficult, the number listed is his cell, he’s always busy, and he doesn’t come before to estimate the job. However, on the day of the move he called ahead because his prior job was running late and I appreciated that. Bob quoted the price at $ 80/​hr for two men and a truck but on the day-​of Bob plus two other movers arrived. Since Bob was supervising I assumed the price was as quoted but I was charged $ 90/​hr because «three men where working». My gut tells me Bob the Mover always brings two men with him and always charges $ 90/​hr. Total was $ 400 with tax for a one bedroom apartment.
Finally, be aware the the cube truck is a 14 – 17′ late model U-​Haul. It’s not that big and just fit the contents, after we’d moved a lot of things ourselves. I presume they make multiple trips for larger homes which could get expensive. I hired Bob the Mover because he was recommended by a friend and I would recommend him to a friend. But moves are stressful and the details mater.
