Really rude staff. Based on where my office is located I have gone a half dozen times, and while the food is hit or miss, the staff is continually grouchy. I understand working in the food services industry isn’t a joy, but acting like a customer’s order is ruining their day isn’t appropriate.

I can’t speak to the instore experience as much I haven’t been in too often. HOWEVER the catering is delicious and amazingly fresh. Scott and his team are always on time and SUPER flexible! I work downtown at a large company and we order all of our lunches and breakfast catering from there. We literally order from them at least once per week. The soup is phenomenol and the price is great value. I can’t emphasize enough how easy they are to work with. Friendly, professional and always willing to accomodate my last minute requests or needs. I also have worked with CC on weddings I have planned in my previous job. All in all if you are looking for some FRESH yummy food from some great people — Call these guys! I see below some so-so responses to their in shop experience. Certainly Cinnamon is very much a morning and lunch shop — after 1 it is dead. I think they have a lot of success and focus on their catering and rightfully so. ** Insider tip! If you are ordering soup for business lunches, you can asked to have them pre packages. They arrive hot in a sealed container it saves time, clean up and awkwardly waiting for people to pour soup in their bowl! highly recomend. Plus it prevents left overs from going to waste… and this soup should not be wasted!**

Will not be back. After having missed breakfast and lunch I walked into certainly cinnamon around 2pm this afternoon. Looking over the chalkboard menu I am asked if they can get me anything. I reply that I’m just looking over the sandwiches. I decide on the club and go to the cash asking for the club. The reply? «Sorry we stop service sandwiches at 2 the ingredients are all tidied away». I look at my watch…2:03. I settle on a coffee and cinnamon bun, can’t go wrong at certainly cinnamon right? Wrong. No milk out for the coffee so I ask for that. I’m told just grab something from the bottom of the fridge there. «Something» consisted of nothing but prepackaged artificial flavour creamers. I don’t put sugar in my coffee so this ended up being just too sweet for me. I got these to go and finally got back to my desk thinking well at least I get a cinnamon bun only to find out it was half stale. Maybe this is a ‘before lunch’ kinda place? And people wonder why local businesses don’t get supported.

Popped in for a quick lunch last Wednesday around 1pm or so. They seemed to be out of a lot of ingredients already! The girl who rang us up appeared to bot have very much experience doing that. Maybe she’s usually baking? Our sandwiches were ok. I got a chicken caesar wrap which reminded me why I never get them– waaay too much dressing. The wrap was huge! I couldn’t finish it. My husband got a turkey sandwich; he’d ordered a half, but they gave him a whole. It was kind of dark in there and there were a few other people enjoying their lunches. I can imagine this place is incredibly bus in the morning. While we were there, a couple came in to confirm their wedding catering for the weekend. I’m going to assume we came in at an off time and maybe we made poor choices…

When you walk into this place the smell of fresh baked goods just makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. The treats are displayed delightfully behind the order counter and look very tempting. Since oatcakes are not available where I currently live, these were the only goodies I was focused on. They were quite tasty and satisfied my craving along with a nice, hot cup of coffee. On my last day in Halifax, I stopped here for lunch before heading to the airport. The Mexican chicken wrap was very good and extremely filling, their wraps are large in size for a good price. Décor is lacking a little bit, but it does the job — the TPB signed posters gave me a laugh. The customer service was excellent though! Super friendly and even fun, the gal behind the counter cheered me up a bit before I left. I was definitely reminded about how much I love being around my fellow Maritimers. So, if you’re strolling by, stop in for a nice cup of coffee and a delicious treat. Or, if you have room in your stomach, grab a tasty wrap to fill you right up. The friendly gals behind the counter will possibly even brighten up your day as well!

Its taken me 3 years but I finally stopped into Certainly Cinnamon. Gripping its general offerings from the title and frequent walk-bys, I expect a café setting of sweets and hot bevies. Check. A fine little selection of goodies that I did not invest in, but admired from afar. There is also a variety of rich meat sandwiches, soups and sushi available for order. Looks good to me. Certainly Cinnamon’s catering service is a big part of their business. They provide assorted food and resources to fit all types of events. It seems like a promising spot with an emphasis on fresh, quality goods.

Anything Cinnamon and I am in. How can you resist the smell of fresh baked cinnamon. This place pretty much has it under control. I would not go here for the coffee, but the food is great, and make sure you get the sticky cinnamon. The sandwiches are pretty spectacular for the price and home made bread makes the difference
Certainly fantastic! Certainly Cinnamon is a fantastic coffee and sandwich shop! First off, try the smoked turkey sandwich. Just do it and you will thank me. The biggest surprise I have ever had in a coffee and sandwich shop was when I walked into Certainly Cinnamon, ordered a sandwich, coffee and soup and found out I still had money in my wallet. But not only that, the food was natural, and very healthy! This is one of the cheapest and healthiest places to go to in all of Halifax. The staff are also very friendly but tend to be a bit impatient. I can understand given the amount of traffic that comes in. But I hope they calm down a wee bit. This place gives you more quality than what you are paying for. You feel like you are always getting a deal when you eat here. The staff are generally really good and work very hard. Its just one of the best places to have lunch in all of Halifax. So if you are on Barrington Street and your stomach begins growling, head to Certainly Cinnamon.

Ok so the positives first — baking is the key here, cinnamon wheels made onsite, super fresh, leaves fingers with sticky sugar and cinnamon, yummmm … definitely a highlight. Constructive feedback: * filter coffee had it’s place — once. A sexy espresso machine would do wonders — its rough sitting at the window and pining over the espresso shop over the road * the space could handle some fabulous interior design, I’m thinking red chiffon — I love the harem feel haha(is that acceptable in Halifax, or is that just a New York thing — no offense intended) Otherwise a friendly spot with genuine staff.

This isn’t so much a review of the coffee shop as a whole, although I can say it’s cozy and the selection and prices look great, staff is a bit rushed, but friendly enough. All I can speak to is the Thai Pork Tenderloin sandwich… It alone is worth a side trip. It comes with cheese and a selection of salads of your choice(make sure you ask, as in the lunch rush they sometimes only put on the minimum). It is delicious, packed with flavour in the well marinated meat. It is one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten, and a bargain on fresh baked thick sliced bread, at $ 4.95 plus tax.
