Okay yea, I am a fan of Cora’s. Although this location doesn’t have any parking, and finding street parking off Spring Garden is like that dream where all your teeth fall out. It’s a nightmare but it’s worth it. I think this is the only breakfast place I don’t order the bacon and eggs at and am still happy with my life choice at the end of the meal. I love my bacon, but give me a custard filled strawberry crêpe any day of the week. It’s like cake for breakfast. I know what you’re thinking, just order the bacon on the side. While that’s a fantastic idea in theory, and my eyes would totally agree with you, my stomach cannot handle it. The portion sizes at Cora’s are just uncalled for. I basically eat brunch here, and then have a late night snack. You can’t eat for at least 10 hours after a Cora’s visit. The crêpe is like the size of my thigh. the whole thigh and I feel like a monster when I’m done eating the thing. You know I’m finishing that plate! There’s like $ 10 worth of out of season strawberries in that thing. There is a smaller size crêpe you can order, but it’s still massive. All in all, I like Cora’s and will head here when friends suggest it. P. S. Expect a wait here on the weekends when all the hung over university kids roll out of bed and in here.

I honestly really like there food, my favourite has always been jo struction with sausages and bacon and eggs. I have fond memories of going for breakfast once a month with my coworkers back when i worked overnight. The staff have always been nice even when we got a little bit rowdy. Its a great place to go for a family outing or just with friends.

I have been to Coras for years and unfortunately the service has only gotten worse. Today I went to this location for my second time and for my second time I was not impressed. The smoothies have gotten worse and the price higher. I order the same dish every time the«sunshine panini crêpe» with no meat, while I understand that the ham is a main ingredient in the dish I don’t understand how taking that out can reduce the quality of the meal. My side of fruit came with bananas, human hair, and old plums. I showed the picture of my meal to my server(the manager) and she told me the reason my dish looked flat was because of the«way it was rolled» Needless to say this was my last visit to this location.

The food here was pretty good, but the service wasn’t so great. You have to wait to be seated, which is fine, but we stood there for a good 5 minutes before anyone came over to the waiting area to seat us and the restaurant wasn’t even very busy at that point. Usually someone will at least come over and tell you that they’ll be with you in a minute. Similarly, when we sat down it took awhile for the waitress to come over and greet us. Usually I’d expect the waitress to come over and take our drink order while we browsed the menu. By the time she came over we were ready to order since she took so long. When we were ready to pay the credit card reader and their payment software was having issues so it took us 15 — 20 minutes to pay our bill.

Our second visit to this location in 3 days of our weekend visit to Halifax, we were not disappointed. The first visit was basic«Cora’s Breakfast» with tea and coffee. That was very good, more than enough food to start the day and came just the way we ordered it. Today, we opted for the Eggs Ben-et-dictine with ham and the Sunshine Crêpe-anini. The hollandaise sauce was good but the overall temperature was not quite hot. The panini crêpe was very good and hot. The presentation was excellent as was the service, never having to wait for a refill on my coffee. We bought 58 minutes on the parking metre and were out in time to not get a ticket.

I only went to this location once and will probably never go again. The restaurant wasn’t busy and we still ended up waiting almost an hour for our food. My friend and I both ordered eggs Benedict, one veggie and one ham and both with different egg runniness(one hard and one runny). When we finally got our food, the eggs were wrong. When we let the waitress know she asked if we would just switch plates but one of us didn’t eat pork. She then informed us that it would take another 20 minutes to remake our food so we just ended up eating what we had. The hollandaise sauce wasn’t very good either. All in all, the service was poor. We walked in for breakfast and didn’t leave the restaurant until lunch.

Check in on Unilocal and get a free smoothie :) I’m a long time lover of this location. If you can manage the wait or luck out and there’s no line, I find the staff are always fast and cheerful. The kitchen seems to manage the crowds just fine and the food is very consistant.

Used to be a good place to eat. Now food is cold, crepes are heavy and doughy and the service is sketchy. I have been going there a long time. it is time to stop. Do not waste your money on this third rate restaurant.(fruit is OK, though)

Visiting from out of town and wanted to have a great breakfast — found it. Simply outstanding. Fresh everything — especially fresh fruit — seriously the freshest restaurant fruit you could possibly have. They cut it to order and the taste was uniformly outstanding including kiwis. Great French toast — homemade bread — and even the potatoes were cut to order — non greasy –great service and kids menu too. Gotta go to Cora’s — it is awesome. And they have high chairs and booster seats.

Let me start by saying that this will be probably the firs and last time I frequent this location. The location itself is convenient as it is located just off of Spring Garden Road. As soon as you walked in, the smell of burnt toast waffled in the air, and continued to waffle throughout the restaurant during the entire meal. We ordered 5 minutes after we sat down and our food arrived 40 minutes later. This would have been great if we all didn’t have to go back to work and planned on spending 1.5+ hours in the restaurant. After taking the first bite of my crêpe, I realized it was extremely chewy and cold. After waiting 40 minutes for our food, having being served something cold was the least of my thoughts! Trying not to make a big deal of it, I took another bite and I couldn’t get through the rubbery-ness of this meal. The waitress came back ten minutes later and asked how the meals were. I told her mine was rubbery/chewy and cold. She offered to take it and microwave it for me! Microwave a rubbery crêpe… that would work! *Note sarcasm* I told her politely no, and told her I was done with it. The bills came promptly 5 minutes later and I was told that she was able to take 20% off of my bill… wait…what? I took two bites and sent it back? She then asked if I wanted her to go talk to her manager. Yes please! She went, came back, and said that the manager said he could take 50% off the bill? Well… that’s better… wait a second… I didn’t EATANYTHING! I told her I wasn’t paying anything and she asked if I wanted to speak with the manager. I said sure, but no matter what he said, I was still not going to pay for the meal I didn’t eat and sent back. He asked what the problem was and I again told him that the crêpe was rubbery and cold. He asked if the waitress offered to make another one? Ummm… no. she offered to microwave it. Microwave my $ 12 crêpe!(Just as a side note but I’m not even sure what she was going to do with the strawberries that were filling it when she was thinking about microwaving it!). He said he could take 50% off the bill. I told him I wasn’t paying and he said well okay then. Firstly, the manager, in most restaurants I’ve been to, come over IMMEDIATELY, if there is ever an issue(and I very seldom send food back. maybe once a year). And I’ve never been told I have to pay for an uneaten, sent back meal. I would avoid this restaurant.

The food was great and the fruit was fresh. Almost all of the plates come with fruit, some with a lot of fruit of different varieties. This was what I liked the most, especially since we had our baby with us. The fruit was great to feed him and gives you a healthy meal when going out to eat. I got the chicken melt, which was fresh with big chunks of chicken and not too mayonnaisey like a lot of places. My wife got the cheese and apple crêpe, which was also very good. We decided on a smoothy since we had a free coupon and it was fantastic as well. The service was also good, very friendly and helpful.

I would like to speak to poor service. We called twice to confirm reservations for a birthday brunch only to arrive and be placed at the bottom of the wait list. I appreciate that they were busy but I feel the 20 minute wait to be seated uncalled for — if they weren’t going to honour the reservation we would have happily made plans elsewhere. The waiter seemed overworked and confused. He took half the drink orders then left to find a kid’s menu — and didn’t return for 10 minutes. I won’t be back. If you go, peer in the window to make sure they are not busy otherwise you have a frustrating time ahead of you.

Cora’s is conveniently situated right off Spring Garden Road, near the Lord Nelson hotel and loads of shops. A great location for a breakfast spot. But unlike real estate, there’s more to breakfast than«location, location, location». The«special» consisted of a little dollop of scrambled eggs, over-nuked potatoes, a rubbery little round of ham, bacon that was vaguely reminiscent of trans-Atlantic airplane food, and a suspicious«crêpe» that was so stretchy it was more like a piece of Ethiopian injera bread. On top of that was a badly charred greasy little sausage looking up at me. I actually felt sad for that little thing, it looked tortured and very unhappy. At $ 12 plus extra for coffee, I wasn’t impressed. The bread products might fare better. The brioche my companion ordered wasn’t bad. But skip the full Canadian breakfast here — it’s more or less a super-size airplane breakfast.

My number 1 Criteria for reviewing a breakfast place is Eggs. If they can’t make the eggs to order then they fail as a breakfast place. For a place like Cora’s that specializes in Breakfast the eggs should be perfect. I have been here twice I ordered over easy eggs but received eggs that were somewhere between over medium and over hard. If you mess up the eggs you should have the decency to gash them and make new ones for the customer. The fruits looked nice but half of the fruits were not even edible. The Kiwi’s were hard as a rock and EXTREMELY sour. They were not even close to being ripe enough to eat. The banana as well was not ripe and it tasted very green. I will not be going here again.

Do you like crepes? If yes, Cora’s is pretty good. If not, it doesn’t offer much to satisfy the crêpe-less. Cora’s has always been just okay for me. Whenever I’ve eaten there it’s usually with friends or family. I’ve never chosen to attend when given the option between the multitude of better breakfast places in Halifax. If you are going out for breakfast expressly for the purpose of eating crepes, then choose Cora’s. Anytime i’ve ordered anything other than crepes, pancakes, or waffles, I’ve been disappointed with my meal. I had the eggs Benedict a couple of weeks ago and it was pretty bad. The eggs were somehow burned around the edges yet runny in the middle despite an over-hard request. The hollandaise sauce was terribly bland and the english muffin was not toasted. My home fries were tasty, but cold and not cooked in the middle. One thing that bothers me about Cora’s is the lack of change. The menu has essentially remained the same for the last ten years and counting. I do enjoy crepes and have always liked the various styles of crepes they offer. Especially the Nutella variation. Whatever you order you will be given a portion capable of feeding an entire family. They go a little overboard on the fruit and I’ve never seen anyone I’m with ever clear their plate. I feel a little bad about the amount of fruit wastage. But I do enjoy the fancy fruit slicing and arrangements. Cora’s is a place I’ll go if the group has chosen to eat there. I’d like for it to be so much more. Breakfast is an easy meal to do right, and they’ve had so long to improve, I’m not sure why they haven’t. They are a chain and that may be the largest limiting factor.

It all depends on what you have and like to eat. I had the Peggy’s poached. Fresh fruit a poached egg and piece of unbuttered whole wheat toast. What can go wrong with that? It was great. My wife on the other hand ordered the 90’s harvest. Fruit was Ok cut fruit so no problem there then the rest was well really poor the bacon is prefabricated pre-cooked in a factory and the cinnamon bun is egg battered yeah done in a factory is what it looks like and dry like eating sawdust. The egg was over medium and looked like it was cooked next to other eggs and some other dinner had my wife’s whites because all she had on her plate was the yolk. I won’t be back for a long time.

I always enjoy my visits to Cora’s for the basic breakfast specials. This visit I tried the lunch menu and I give them 5** on the vegetable skillet. Nice assortment of vegetable, cooked hot and delicious. Those potato’s are heavenly. The salad was great with the tomato basil dressing. My dining partner enjoyed the«Construction» breakfast to the fullest. Also love that just by checking in we got FREE smoothies! :)

Mike and I headed to Cora’s for a quick bite before a movie recently. I honestly have never had a good breakfast here, but it was the most convenient option at the time so we gave it a go. First problem: we entered via the Dresden Row entrance. Apparently the host station is at another entrance, as we were confronted with a sign telling us(I think) to go around the corner. The arrow looked like curly underlining so we weren’t too sure. Once we were spotted a server cleaned off a table for us. The restaurant was mostly empty, with everyone seated in one section with a street view. Fine. The only problem? None of the empty tables had been cleaned by staff. There were plenty of staff, they just didn’t seem interested in doing their job that day. This was their routine while we were there: Customers come to be seated. Customers can’t be seated; no clean tables. Server rushes to clean table. One couple didn’t like the booth they were seated in; they wanted an actual table. Once again the server had to quickly clean a table before they could move. It was a very bizarre spectacle, and incredibly inefficient. Foodwise, Mike ordered the beef barley soup and pulled pork sandwich, which he said were good. I ordered French toast with a mountain of fruit. I really enjoyed the fruit and the toast wasn’t bad either. Unfortunately we didn’t notice not one, not two, but THREE short brown hairs on Mike’s plate until he had finished eating.(And no, they weren’t Mike’s.) We debated bringing it to our server’s attention, but since we were pressed for time we chose to simply pay our bill and get the heck out of there, never to return.

Schmeckt alles sehr gut.
