During the Summer of 2012, Lezlie had a showing of her clothes at the Chester Yacht Club. I bought several outfits for a trip I am now on — Rome, and the clothes are perfect and fabulous, smart-looking, eye-catching and chic. Lezlie is talented, with a discerning eye for what looks great on a gal, and certainly chose a nice line of jackets, scarves, a belt and tops for me that are a breeze to mix/match and easy to pack. Love the silks! Am looking forward to catching her again in Nova Scotia when I return this Summer 2013.

A bit of a cluster, In a Box stays true to its name with its teeny space. Quite literally, customers may feel as though they are«in a box» as they browse the tight enclosures of home décor, clothing, accessories and various sprinklings of other giftworthy items. Not my style for the most part, and perhaps aimed at another genre of woman, I can still appreciate the quality of such fancy finds. Price-tags are fiesty, but it could be worth a splurge… All in all, I wasn’t too taken by my walk through and not sure it was for me. Great efforts and friendly folks, it was just a little too cramped for my liking, and not my shopping style. I’d encourage anyone to take a peak if you’re in the area, as its a spot to feel out for yourself.

I was confused. I saw the sign, hesitated then climbed some stairs and came to a landing. Then I climbed more stairs and peered through the doorway. For some reason I felt slightly nervous, out of place. Because of the the nature of climbing up so high, I felt kind of trapped, like if I entered, I was there to stay. The place appears to be a converted apartment and is fairly teensy. The offerings were of the silk, embroidered variety with a large price tags. The clothing looked expertly made but was definitely for a designed for target market(artsy professors?). There were tote bags and scarves, hats and coats, and the space was pretty cute although a little closed in. I saw a sign that said no returns/refunds so you best be certain about your green silk highly adorned button down before you take the plunge. This place is sweet, but I think the sign on the street, suggesting it as a mini-department store, is a bit misleading. It’s more of an attire store for women with specifically eccentric tastes. In a Box may be the place for you, and if so, great. It wasn’t for me and probably doesn’t offer any goods that people I know would want to purchase. It’s a neat idea though, and I wish this little ‘pie in the sky, climb so high’ shop much success.

In a Box is not what it seems. As you walk up the stairs you will soon see a very compact space filled with everything. The ladies said it was like a small department store. They have fantastic stuff! There was jackets, tops, glassware, jewelry, clutch bags and some really great huge handbags. I am not sure I can list everything that was here and the cloths were very trendy and classy. It was a cool store and a perfect place to pick out a gift. The two ladies that were there were really nice, they told us anything we saw, just let them know because they have other sizes. There was so much in this small space, I have to go back, I will definitely be telling people about this spot!

This tiny(emphasis tiny) little department store is definitely worth a look! Lots of neat finds, although the majority of clothing and wares are geared towards a middle aged, female population. Lots of eclectic jewelry, silk scarves, vases, etc. Leather purses/bags were less expensive than I anticipated so check it out next time you’re on Dresden Row!
