Loved my apartment at the Waterford! Great company to rent from and great apartments.

I rented from Paramount Management during my first year living in Halifax, and my experience is met with a slight taint. While it was a process in itself getting approved for the apartment, even with a legitimate co-signer, negative overtones would play a role long after the initial move-in. The super-intendant, and the woman I dealt with during the pre-rental process, struck me as unprofessional from the very beginning. There was a constant demonstration of her level of authority, as her actions and tones of conversation made it seem as though I– a mere student and apparent delinquent– was lucky to be there. Wait a minute… I thought this was a mutual agreement, isn’t that what a lease is? The obvious bias for whatever reason was notable, and her ways of dealing with myself and roommates reflected poor ethics and unprofessionalism. This was my first time renting in this kind of large building, and perhaps I gave her too much power in the beginning– being younger and a bit timid, there are some folks who will take advantage of that. She was one of those folks. The apartment building was pristine and lovely, however, the stiff unprofessionalism present was enough not for me to renew my lease. It seemed as though a lack of moral integrity was involved, and she did not seem to comprehend the fact that this was a mutual agreement, and I should be taken just as seriously as the young professional next door. Many of my own issues throughout the tenancy were brushed to the side, and replied with flaky responses. Paramount needs to work on its framework. The people who tenants see everyday hugely reflect the business, and the way this woman managed was downright despicable. Straight-up.
