Eh it was alright food took forever!!! My hockey team a year ago waited what? 40 to an hour long? Man terrible timing and food though is great the building it self is good I think it’s slow because you seat yourself and they usually cook everyone’s meal and serve them it at the same time still had fun though nice place 3⁄5

Haven’t been here in awhile and the food has really improved. I had a gourmet burger and fries and it was really good. I’ll def go back more often now. The place was packed too so that’s a good sign. I recommend you give it a second chance if you didn’t like it before.

Great craic! We were staying in the area, and this is the only pub nearby. We decided to head there for dinner, as the choices are pretty limited. Glad we did! We did order the wings, which were tossed, as requested. I had the seafood chowder, which was fresh and light. My husband had the seafood linguini, which he also enjoyed. The server was friendly and helpful. As an added bonus, they had a live music contest(«The War for the Shore»). Two cover bands and a talented original group. We stayed for all three sets and had a really fun evening. I’d definitely go back. It may be the only choice in the area, but it’s a decent enough pub, and worth supporting.

This was average or slightly below if I am being honest. We ordered the Sampler Platter with the chicken wings tossed in mild sauce and two soft drinks. The wings weren’t tossed as the waitress said they would be, instead it was sauce on the side, and we were charged for three soft drinks. The food was pub food, greasy, and yes, I understand that is what we ordered, however, pools of grease gathering beneath the food making it soggy was a little much. When I mentioned to the waitress that we had only got two drinks and were charged incorrectly, she responded by providing a very negative attitude, almost like we were trying to rip her off. This error was probably due to the fact that she did not check on us after bringing us our order when my husband asked for another Pepsi, she only returned to us with the bill. Had she checked on us, and realized that she never brought his other drink request, she would have known not to charge us for it. The total bill was $ 28.16(+tip), a little steep for the quality received. I prefer to frequent non-food chain establishments when it can be helped, however, the service lacked, and the food was not anything special. Unfortunate, as I have gone here twice, and both times it was a below average experience. Maybe I am just hitting on bad days…

Very good food and service compared to anything else around. I live in Lake Echo and will drive there rather than Dartmouth to go eat wings on Thursdays or any pub food craving, lots of variety and unique foods.

Hit or miss! I know why I only go once or twice a year. Seriously, get some better waitresses and add a splash of color. Invest in some new décor and maybe wash the floor. Food is good but man, Why is everyone that works there so dame cranky?

A great stopping place. Good selection of tasty pub food and good service. Not necessarily worth a whole trip out to Porter’s Lake, but definitely a good place to stop if you’re out there and looking for a bite.

I bought a Groupon for the Porters Lake Pub before Christmas. We ended up going twice because the first time the groupon hadn’t come through yet. First time was for lunch, which was decent pub fare. They have a good selection of lunch items and you can upgrade to sweet potato fries. The second time was for dinner. The Groupon was for a max of $ 15.99 on each entrée, which is easy because only one or two items on their menu is $ 15.99 and nothing is more than that. It also included a beer or pop, but the staff was nice in that they let me substitute a bar drink for the beer. I had the chicken fajitas, which were great, and my boyfriend tried their seafood sampler, which was decent, though all deep fried. Good portion sizes on all the food we have had and seen. I’m not sure I will make the drive back to Porters Lake, but if I am in the area, it is definitely worth stopping.

If you drive out past Dartmouth and Coal Harbour, you will eventually pass a place called Lake Echo… Once you pass that you will eventually hit Porter’s Lake. My first experience heading to this pub occurred when a friend and I had the use of a vehicle for a night in 2nd year. We decided that there must be a few cute little restaurants along the eastern shore and off we drove. After passing ‘this street’ and ‘that street,’ we decided that quaint/moderately upscale restaurants were not going to be found. Thus, we settled on the Porter’s Lake Pub, or the ‘PLP’ as the locals know it. We were impressed with the pub grub that we quickly acquired, as well as the reasonably priced beers. A few years have passed and I now live with someone(Mark) from Porter’s Lake and have been to the PLP several more times. Wing night on Thursdays is particularly worth your while as is Halloween. The Porter’s Lake Pub is your typical small town Canadian bar. Everyone goes there, and as a result a real community feel thrives in these places. I recommend using the new wind turbine(Porter’s Lake is progressive!) as a directional guide and give the PLP a try next time your driving down the eastern shore.
