This review is based on 3 visits, 2 of which were excellent, and 1 which was if not terrible, pretty bad. The 3rd was bad enough to drop the rating from 5 to 3. My first visit happened to be on a Wednesday night, when the special is an $ 11 steak and fries. The steak is actually very good — it is better than some steaks I have had for twice the price. It is not a $ 40 steak, but it is damn good for $ 11. The only negative to this particular visit is that the place seems to have one server, who was run off her feet. She was great though, and any negatives there were not her fault(simply being too busy). My second visit was a planned return for the steak special. Again, great experience, no negatives. My third visit was the disaster visit. My boyfriend and I took his niece out for supper on a Tuesday night. I asked about the nightly special(pasta), as it only stated«pick a pasta type». Apparently you get pasta and tomato sauce and that’s it. Weird. That aside, we ordered the Oakmount nachos(which come on tortilla chips) with no onion. We also ordered the chippers(faux cactus chips) also with no onion and a quesadilla with no meat(this member of our party is vegetarian). We asked for the chippers to come out first as the app. We got the chippers and the nachos at the same time instead of staggered as we requested. I grabbed a nacho — only to find it was not the correct type of nacho(they have another nacho plate that uses the chipper potatoes, and it also had onion on it). The server had disappeared immediately after dropping them off, but she returned in a slight panic 5 minutes later asking if we got the wrong nachos. We said yes, then she asked«did you touch them?» My response was yes. She seemed irked. This was off putting, as it is not my fault she gave us the wrong thing. I certainly hope the other customers weren’t given the ones I mauled by accident. We got the right nachos and the quesadilla. All was fine until about halfway through the first piece of quesadilla we realized that they had put chicken in our vegetarian’s supper. She spit it out, quite grossed out. It took us a while to flag down a server(not ours) who immediately apologized and had it replaced(though this did mean we got it well after the rest of us had finished eating). She also removed the item from our bill entirely, which was appreciated. However, all told the experience was not a great one this time round. Again, it was very busy and understaffed, which likely impacted the service but had I not had two great previous experiences I would likely not return. I’ll try again, likely on steak night.

The food was okay but nothing remarkable, much like their beer offerings. Service was friendly and accommodating. Smaller inside than I expected.

Save your money. I will never be back at this location. I have never been so blatantly disrespected in my life. My brother and I went here to try it out and were very disappointed. The waitress seemed to be bothered by our presence(although given the work environment that she was in I wouldn’t blame her for being disinterested in her job.) We started out ordering the chippers which is a cheap imitation of the Cactus Cut Potatoes from Boston Pizza and comes with a ranch dip. It wasn’t very good at all, the ranch was a poor pairing with it and the chippers were soggy and not cooked long enough. My brother ordered the pulled pork sandwich and I ordered a steak sandwich. The pulled pork sandwich barely had any pork on it and it was slathered with cole slaw to cover that fact. The menu said that it was slathered in BBQ sauce but we couldn’t find any bbq sauce on the sandwich at all. My steak sandwich was gross the meat was so thin and tenderized and there wasn’t even sauce on the sandwich. My brother took 2 bites of his pulled pork sandwich and I took a bite of the steak sandwich after which we had decided that we had enough. The waitress came to check on us and we informed her that we weren’t happy with the food and would like it taken back. She returned with a menu and we told her that we would simply like the cheque and that we would be leaving(I had ordered a beer, and we had eaten the chippers so we were ready to pay for that) When the bill came back it came to 42.00 I looked down and saw that we were being charged full price for both of the sandwiches that we didn’t eat. I brought this to the waitresses attention and she went to get her manager. The manager was very unprofessional, he came over and leaned over the table with his eyes narrowed and asked us what the problem was. We explained our situation and he started arguing with us and telling us that it didn’t matter and that we would have to pay for the food. I explained that we don’t normally send food back and that I didn’t want any trouble I just wasn’t satisfied with the food and would like my money back. The manager got angry and told me and my brother that we looked like the type of people who always send food back he then went into the helpful analogy that if you went to Mcdonalds and took a bite of a Big Mac McDonalds would still charge you, we told him that wasn’t the case. To make a long story short the manager continued to insult us and told us that we looked like McDonalds and Wendys people(?) and that perhaps Wendys and McDonalds would be more our speed. The conversation ended with him yelling at us to get the F*** out of his store and to never come back. The waitress was angry and didn’t know her stuff, the manager was straight out unprofessional and rude. I will never darken their doors again and I encourage you to spend your hard earned money else where the food is over priced and the quality of food is sub par at best.

Well the food is fine, usual selection of beer and wine. It’s kind of a plain space, too brightly lit for my taste and we were somewhat unfortunate to be there on live music night. The trio weren’t at all bad, but the sound level was way too high. Friendly service and price wasn’t too painful. Four decent sized starters and two large glasses of red, just north of $ 50.

Pleasantly surprised! Was not expecting much but thought I would give it a try. Had a clubhouse and fries and my dining partner had pasta. Menu is good, food is good. Service was excellent except we waited a long time for the bill and it wasn’t very busy. Good menu and location. I’ll try this again sometime. Wish they had real mayonnaise instead of the fake runny stuff. Probably Sysco house brand«salad dressing» that some restaurants call«mayo». Other than that no compaints.

Did not even get to eat. got there a little before nine with a friend.(restaurant does not close till 10pm) sat down waiter came over and took our drink menu left. Came back for our food order and informed us because they just cleaned the grill the only items we could order would be deep fried. We left, my stomach cant handle deep fried foods. wont be back.

The place had potential but it’s unlikely to ever see another dollar from me. I’ll start by saying the waitress(redhead who’s name I didn’t catch) was great from start to finish. She kept updating up which basically meant apologizing for the kitchen as we waited 1.5 hrs for 2 burgers(which were good but overcooked). Meanwhile every table around us who ordered after us was served. That in itself is reason for me to not go back but the owner was there(his band is the Sat entertainment and is quite good) and likely knew of the experience based on my telling the waitress I’d unlikely to be back and her assuring me the message would be delivered and seeing her talk to him before we left and he couldn’t be bothered to come over to apologize. It would be a good local pub and I’m not big on giving bad reviews but this experience was bad enough then I felt I had to. Unless the kitchen problem gets fixed and the owner or manager learns how to deal with patrons who have my experience they will be establishment #2 to go under in the space…

I was hesitant to try here after reading some poor reviews maybe a month or so ago, but had relatives visiting the city on a recent hot Wednesday evening, and they were spending the night on Larry Uteck. I suggested we give it a shot for convenience, for drinks at least, figuring it would be safe for that. We took the last free table on the patio around 7-ish. I thought it would have an annoying feel, being basically in the parking lot of a plaza, but the fence provides enough division that you don’t notice too much. And it was surprisingly quiet that night, rather than a lot of car noise. I could sense the server was busy, but we didn’t wait too long for a menu and to give our drink order. I had a few glasses of their pinot grigio(unfortunately they don’t offer half liters or bottles, only what seem like 5 oz glasses), but that’s fine. There was an earwig stuck in the plastic stand-up menu on the table, which the server shook away. lol We split an order of the signature nachos and mozza sticks, which were both decent and filling. Nothing special about them, but nothing wrong, and satisfying. On the way out of the place around 9:30, the inside dining area was mainly empty, which is small(5 or 6 tables?) with a fully equipped stage ready for whatever band would play next. I actually would go back here.

Had their $ 9.99 steak and fries on Wednesday last, it was the finest $ 10.00 steak I’ve ever eaten and I recommend it to all, With food like that Prospect will prosper! Thankyou

Prospectors? You won’t find any gold here! Went with my sister, mom, & niece(2 ½). They didn’t have high chairs, they didn’t have kids cups. The waitress handed knife/fork/napkin to my niece. What kind of waitress does that? Menu was so boring. Absolutely no theme to the restaurant. Greek salad and a deep-fried starter plate? What kind of restaurant is this? I got a burger on a soggy-ass bun with PROCESSED cheese, and no pickle(which was advertised). My mom & sister shared their nachos which I assume were trying to mimic the cactus cut potatoes at BP. Horrible imitation. They were deep fried until they were dark brown. My niece got a hot dog & fries. The waitress tried telling my sister if she ordered ½ the meal she’d still have to pay full price(??). Her excuse also was, «you can’t really cut a hot dog in half.» WAT. My niece ended up knocking over her glass of water(no sippie cup) and it went all over the table/floor. No biggie, kids are kids. Asked the waitress for paper towel/more napkins to wipe it up. Did they ever come? Nope. My mom had to get up and ask the manager for some. In the end, my mom and sister didn’t finish their food, I finished my burg and that’s it. It was advertised as «charbroiled.» It wasn’t. The manager came over and ended up comping our meal(I was more than willing to pay for mine) but she insisted. While she was sitting down chatting with us, I asked her if her fries were store bought. She said yes they’re from GFS(Gordon Food Service). At least she didn’t lie. «The cook just likes to make these.» I wish Woody’s was able to survive in this location. They had amazing BBQ and my family went almost every Tuesday night for trivia. Now the only location is in Dartmouth Crossing which is a little out of the way. Unfortunately, this place is not worth your time or money. You’re better off getting a big mac from Mickey Dee’s across the way. At least that way you know you’re getting what you paid for.

Well… after being open for 2 weeks, I’d say they should have figured a lot more out before inviting the public in. when you walk in, the restaurant is absolutely bare. even the bar is sparsely stocked. the usual crap beer on tap. we decided to venture out to the patio which was nice. our server met us out there with menus, no waters, but took our drink order. I asked for gin and she promptly cut me off to tell me they don’t have tonic. Jokingly two people in my party pointed put that sobeys is next door. which was true. really, $ 2 for a whole bottle. So I wasn’t sure what to get. what seemed like forever later she came back with drinks and took our food order. food was challenging. the menu eas do generic it looked like it was just reprinted from some other rstaurant that exists in every town. all thw typical food was there with no creativity. all deep fried options. anything remotelt different was stupid expensive. So when she decided to take our order she was rushing us big time… I got the impression from her attitude and over hearing her convo with the next table that she was alone. I asked for a chicken caesar wrap, and when I saw the list of sides I asked her what«chippers» were. she flat out said«I have no idea»…when we all responded with blank faces and laughs she said«we’ve only been open two weeks and i started after opening and they just threw me in» clearly she hates her employer and thinks it’s not her job to learn the menu. this would definitely not happen at most other restaurants in this city. I was insanely unimpressed. Then when my party ordered they asked if what the side options were and she struggled naming them… ugh. so our appetizer came which was a mix plate of mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers, pepperoni, onion rings and fries. it all clearly comes from McCain. actually tastes like what I can make at home. fries were really bad. pepperoni was the bright side of the plate. the food. B. and M. didn’t mind their burgers. the sweet potatoes fries actually looked pretty good. R. s chicken burger was uninspired. and my wrap was fine. but again it tastes like all food we could’ve made at home. and then asking for water was a chore… it took forever. I was so done with this place. I will not be venturing back. I’d rather pay the extra 30% and go to Morris east. come on bedford, can’t we get better Than this!
