Good poutine but not the best in Halifax.(In my opinion) The fries are a bit soggy and the sauce is OK. This is just some chain based out of Ontario. The real crown of Haligonian poutine goes to Willy’s across the street. I recommend you go there instead.

I’m confused about what all the fuss is about this place. Poutine is one of my favorite foods to eat and this place has the most oddest tasting poutine. The gravy taste like sugar, not a gravy i would expect on my poutine. Price was okay.

Yum!!! First time at Smoke’s, definitely not my last. Fries, perfect. Gravy, delicious. Cheese, squeaky. Bacon, incredible and copious! Friend had Montréal smoked meat and raved about it too. We will be back!!!

Of course we had to try a poutine… The place looked like it would make a real good poutine. We ordered a bacon poutine and omg was it packed with bacon and cheese. My partner and I shared it and could not finish it between us. Very good with huge portions. Would be great with a brew :)

Pizza corner? Not anymore! It’s poutine corner now! We always had willy’s, which is still a happening spot in the wee small hours… But smoke’s is a personal fave because choice is the name of MY game, and I’m never disappointed in what’s being offered and what I actually eat! Now granted this particular visit may have been the first MIDDAY, aka not after a night of painting the town red with wine then heading over for a cab snack home. No matter what time of day or what choice I’ve made, smoke’s serves up a unique poutine to satisfy ANY craving you might have! You can add things like pulled pork or jalapeños, make it DELUX, or just go classic with the traditional poutine. For what ever, or who ever, they have something! Not to mention the staff seem to be endlessly entertaining as well as helpful, because sometimes the hardest thing is to decide which masterpiece you will indulge in! The only thing I suggest is being able to lay down after… The food coma I typically induce myself into after eating a major poutine is one of the best parts! Day off bliss! It’s the little things in life!

This is the first time I’ve had poutine. I know, hard to believe, but when you can’t have the cheese curds, and that really just leaves you with fries and gravy, what’s the attraction? Add some pig to those fries and gravy, and I’m attracted! I walk by Smoke’s on my way to work each morning, well before the kiosks on the waterfront are open. I’ve been drooling over their menu for awhile now. Finally had a chance to try their wares and was not disappointed. At all. The cute cashier gave me a discount on my order since I was ordering the double pork poutine sans cheese. Plus they have Pop Shoppe pop. I first thought the prices were rather steep for a few fries with a bit of bacon and pulled pork. NOTSO, my friends. My box of goodness? Was stuffed with pig. A thick layer of cooked-to-perfection bacon, followed by a thick layer of succulent, tender pulled pork. Somewhere near the bottom(seriously, I had to excavate to find them) were gravy-drenched, tasty fries. It was unbelievably, unbelievably good. Mike had the triple pork poutine, so he had bites of sausage added to his mountain of food. Neither of us could finish. Not even close. We brought the leftovers home for another day. I can’t wait to visit Smoke’s again.

Astonishing amount of bacon in bacon poutine! Gravy a bit unusual — sage maybe? Nice for late lunch.
