Even though this Starbucks can get really crowded, they generally are quick on orders and even though the lines can be long, they tend to disappear quite quickly. Saturdays around the holidays though can be nightmarish. I usually pay via the QR code in my pre-loaded Starbucks app instead of using credit or debit cards. At other Starbucks its usually a quick scan of the barcode and then I’m good to go. At this Starbucks, they for whatever reason don’t have scanners and so they have to manually enter your(long) membership number. This is baffling because instead of them just pointing a scanner at your device and taking the payment out of your account in just seconds, they have to actually take your device out of your hands and awkwardly entering your membership number manually into the debit card machine. Maybe its just me, but I’m not a fan of letting just anyone handle my $ 900+ device, even if my hands remain on it. Its also a potential liability for the company because the Barristas have to grip the device with one slippery coffee-greased hand and enter the numbers with the other hand. Wouldn’t take much for them to drop said device, and then what? Maybe I’m just nitpicking but I’ve been here frequently enough as to not feel bad about commenting on smaller details.

This is actually a beautiful Starbucks that is often much quieter than the one in Clayton park. But Starbucks none the less.

I usually get a coffee before I take my daughter to the kids toy section in Chapters. The staff always lets my daughter have a little cup of whip cream so she can have a treat while I enjoy my Espresso Frappucino. Free wifi is nice.

I like books and I like coffee so a place where I can read a book and have a coffee is like Xanadu! It’s been there for as long as I can remember. People are nice, I get the requisite beverage I ordered and I can move along to look at my people magazine or some other trashy rag. That’s a pretty good stop!

Last night, 8pm I met a trio of fantastic barristas running the Chapters Starbucks location. While the coffee is typical SB fare, it was fine. But it was the great personality of these three. Working hard, and socializing with patrons that I cherished. To me great personality is worth more than an $ 8 coffee.

Located in the Bayer’s Lake Chapters, this non corporate run store is great fix for all those book lovers out there. I personally find these non corporate locations to be a bit of a disappointment when it comes to service. it fills the need, but will choose to run down to the Lacewood location before choosing a chapters location. It seems as though the staff is not up to par with the customer service that the corporate run locations are at. I find them to be more interested in what’s happening behind the bar with their fellow staff members than with the customers they are serving. This again is a quick fix location for me.

Y’know, it’s good. Not great. I’m not a huge Starbucks fan but enjoy their Zen tea. The location is the real draw: grab your favourite drink and peruse Chapters. A great way to spend a lazy afternoon or rainy weekend morning.

Starbucks is a treat for us, I usually get a speciality coffee, whip cream and all, then we get a couple special hot chocolates, fully loaded. It is expensive, I am sure I could by a meal for what I pay. However, sometimes you must indulge. Let me ask you, do you ever find yourself drinking those expensive cups of coffee a little slower? Maybe it just seems that to me, but we do like to sit and ponder over these wonderful, calorie filled drinks. I especially love going around Christmas to get the eggnog coffee. They have a great selection of gift and Christmas Coffees.
