I’ve ventured here for lunch twice in about a year. It seems to be a busy spot, and the wait can be pretty long for lunch, which usually makes me late getting back to the office, hence why I have only came here twice. The first time I ordered the haddock tips lunch special for $ 5 plus tax. The portion was pretty good and the fries were yummy. I found the haddock to be a bit bland but I have had worse. The second visit I had just missed the cut off for lunch specials so I ordered the beer battered shrimp with fries. Once again, the fries were great. There were 6 – 8 pieces of shrimp, however they tasted like absoultely nothing. I know my shrimp, my freezer consists of shrimp and freezies so I eat it almost daily, and tend to order it wherever I go… usually shrimp has a distinctive taste even without seasoning, «fishy,» but these shrimp didn’t even have that. I had to slather their sweet chili sauce all over the shrimp to give it some flavour. I cannot rate their battered fish as I have not tried it but unless I happen to have a longer lunch than normal one day, I will most likely go elsewhere. I gave 3 stars because of the fries, otherwise it would have been 2 stars.

I had the 2pc fish and chips. The hand cut fries and haddock were cooked perfectly. The fish was moist and the batter perfect. There was no charge for extra tartar sauce. Very friendly staff!
