Love the popcorn chicken and bubble tea here… but after going through audits of restaurants I enjoy going to. I won’t be coming back here anymore. Checking out , 8090 Teahouse got two yellow cards and one RED card recently from the public health inspectors. Here is the posted order for unsafe food handling. You can check out one of their many infractions within their own establishment on the public health site. Order date: December 8, 2015 Rodent/Insect/Vermin Infestation Critical Infractions *Absence of severe Pest Infestation(Not in Compliance) *Food is held at 4 °C(40°F) or less(Not in Compliance) *Washing hands thoroughly before and after handling food(Not in Compliance) Minor Infractions *Adequate protection against pests and/or evidence of minor pest activity(Not in Compliance) *Equipment, non-food contact surfaces and linen are maintained, designed, constructed, installed and accessible for cleaning(Not in Compliance) *Floors, walls, and ceilings clean and in good repair(Not in Compliance) *Food protected from potential contamination and adulteration(Not in Compliance) *General housekeeping is satisfactory(Not in Compliance) *Hand washing basin with supplies of soap and paper towels in dispensers(Not in Compliance) *Mechanical dishwashing: Wash /rinse water clean, water temperature, timing cycles, sanitizer(Not in Compliance) *Sanitary maintenance of and provision of required supplies in staff /public washroom facilities(Not in Compliance) *Separate hand washing basin provided for food handlers(Not in Compliance) *Thermometers provided for temperature validation(Not in Compliance) That is just one day of auditing. They have multiple infractions throughout the years even with new ownership it seems. Not all restaurants are perfect I understand that, but to risk infractions with each audit shows you this establishment is keen on $$$ only. You just lost a customer and possibly many more until you guys fix your issues. Everyone should educate themselves on the restaurants they regularly visit by going to the site I’ve posted. You will see who is keen on trying their best. For now, 8090 Tea House is just a dime a dozen of bubble tea joint in Hamilton.

I don’t know where they find these staff from. They’re absolutely useless. They don’t know English and they make it a struggle for you to order a simple drink. They never have tapioca on time or anything

I had a Lychee Chiller, it came quickly as did the rest of our drinks. The service was fast, but the servers weren’t very friendly, kind of preoccupied with other things that weren’t really part of their job. We went on a weekday so business was slow, but I guess the servers were just really bored! The décor was nice, but they had this weird curtain section that was cool, but I really didn’t understand it. It kind of split the front of the restaurant from the back.

Great food, great service. This is my most frequently visited restaurant in Hamilton, and it is my favourite place to get bubble tea. The drinks are on the more expensive side, but it’s expensive for a good reason: they put real fruit into your drinks. Yummy! If you ever get a chance to visit 8090, try the hot drinks! It’s delicious. 8090 also makes good food and small snacks.
