Maybe it was just an off night that I came by — I expected a Saturday to be hoppin’ for a student-oriented bar, but the combination of a long weekend and it being summer likely spells slow nights for a place like this. Still, my party of three was the only group inside the place for the two hours I was there, and there was only another couple out on the patio. Not exactly the atmosphere suggested by the website, but I’m more of a pub-type guy anyways. Food was pretty good, and very reasonably priced, as you’d expect for a place that caters to university students. My nachos were generous on the chips and toppings, less so on the salsa and sour cream. Chicken was a fairly inexpensive add-on(something like $ 2 on top of $ 6 for the nachos) but not really seasoned or anything. We also enjoyed a good deal on beer — five Corona for $ 20. While I don’t think it was an good representative visit, it wasn’t a total bust. It’s still not my favourite establishment near the university, though. Should my travels bring me back in the area, I’ll give it another spin.
