Not the first visit of mine to this Anchor bar very interesting décor on the walls and photographs. The servers are really friendly but should introduce themselves by name. As well as all servers should acknowledge all guests. Food came hot and fast although the wings were overcooked and the deep fried pickles could have had a better batter. The overall cost of food did not match the quality. Some attention needs to be made to the entry way patio and washrooms for cleanliness.

The service was great. After we were sat our waitress warned us a reserved party of 50 was just arriving and nicely encouraged us to order before the kitchen got a bit jammed up. We weren’t quite ready so she offered to give us a heads up when they would be ready to prevent us waiting a long period. Jackie was great. The food came out fast, the tuna burger was great.

I recently visited this restaurant for dinner. The staff were friendly and we were greeted and sat in a timely manner. The waitress was very pleasant and frequently visited our table to see if we needed to have our drinks refreshed. The menu was average there wasn’t a huge selection to choose from. When the food was presented it looked delicious. The fries were a little cold though. Also my husband ordered a chicken sandwich which was described as having medium wing sauce on it but it came out with buffalo chicken sauce which was too spicy for him. Luckily i dont mind that so we switched meals. When using the washrooms we both found them to be untidy. They didnt smell fresh and their was toilet paper on the floor and some strange smears on the stall walls. After our meal the waitress asked if we were ready for the bill. She brought it out and when i presented my gift card for payment she took the card and disappeared for what felt like 5 minutes. Not too sure what the hold up was … All in all the experience was average. I would return for another meal.

First of all, the restaurant is located in the Jackson Square Mall, however if you enter at the advertised address(2 King West) you’ll never find the place. A call to the restaurant yielded the information that they were located at 120 King Street, West. That is their street address and is about a quarter mile west of the mall entrance. Entering through the 120 entrance, I saw«2 King Street» on the door. Slightly confusing-there is an entrance to the main mall. That’s the good news. I picked up a couple of pounds of hot wings to bring home. It took the better part of an hour to get my package-in fairness the place was packed. I have eaten at the Buffalo location many times-I’ve even eaten at the Buffalo Airport location. Folks-THESE ARENOT-IREPEATNOT-AUTHENTICANCHORBARWINGS! Blame the US Exchange rate, blame a different poultry supplier, but the wings in Buffalo are at least FIFTEENPERCENTBIGGER. The Hamilton wings were under-sauced and the sauce was«Mild», not«Hot». The Anchor Bar franchise is trying to extend its footprint beyond the boundaries of Buffalo. This is a welcome development, BUTTHEPRODUCTHASTOBETHEREALTHING or else the experiment is doomed… and that would be very bad news for those of us who otherwise will be driving to Main & North Streets in Buffalo.

The place is clean and well-maintained. I had a white pizza and quinoa salad, and both were good enough I would order them again(actually, I did order them again, and they were consistent). The service is average-good, and the bar area has large TV screens. Don’t expect fantastic, but it beats Honest Lawyer as a sit down restaurant in Jackson Square. I’m not sure I would go out of my way to eat here, but if you’re in the area and hungry it’s pretty good. I haven’t been to their patio or tried their chicken wings.

Yuck! $ 12 for a pound of crappy wings? This place is way overrated. The décor is dismal with broken furniture and peeling paint. Service is slow and our service didn’t even check up on us. Workers aren’t proud of their jobs, looking all filthy in their uniforms. Oh, and talk about being overstaffed. The only nice thing was the patio aspect. Don’t go for the food; it’s a rip off.

Gross is the only word to describe it. Having been enticed by the reviews and mentions of «authentic Buffalo wings» we dropped by for a quick bite on the patio. Firstly, the patio itself has a lot of potential but is a missed opportunity. Creaky furniture, broken tables propped up with beer mats, dead flowers in planters — the list goes on. We both ordered wings and the food came fairly quickly. Unfortunately, that’s where he good news ended. The wings were tiny and didn’t have enough sauce, the celery was going bad and the dip was terrible, way to sweet. The service left a lot to be desired too. They were way overstaffed but it still took 20 minutes to get some napkins. We asked for the bill and promptly left. We will never be back.

Disappointing meal especially given the price. Frank burger appears to be more like meatloaf than hamburger, and doesn’t even come with a side of fries. Chicken in chicken Caesar was dry and grey. Wait staff didn’t refill drinks. They may be known for their wings, but their other menu items are subpar.

We went there on Tuesday. The chicken wings are the best wings I had in Hamilton!!! I’m a big fan of the Maple honey wings. The restaurant is very popular and always full of people.

Service was great… Food good, but not the wings, Seriously if the Buffalo Wings is what they are known for they really need to work on them being special, they looked old and over cooked and just plain dried out. I had the spaghetti and meat balls and it was pretty good. THe manager was so kind and helpful, the waiter kinda made a mistake on the order and gave the item to us any way with the an additional item that we ordered. I know for a fact that would never have happened in the states, they would take it back and even charged us. People were so kind and friendly… if your at the Sheraton next door be sure to stop by and check it out. Hamilton has a lot of potential, I wish it them the best.

The rooftop patio is better than you’d expect given the location, and the service was pretty good. The main bar area inside has big screens for hockey and my friends were all very happy with their wings. Which is all well and good, but I’m here to talk about one thing, their burger. They make a big deal about their«Organic Frank Burger» which has cheese and hollandaise sauce. I had it. So far this is the only thing I’ve eaten this year where my stomach was looking up at me afterwards and going, «th’ heck did you do that to me for? that was terrible!» … see, here’s the thing: despite charging you $ 13 for the pleasure, the quality just isn’t as good as a major burger chain like Wendy’s. Their gimmick of putting it on a hot dog bun is not only a totem to American excess(i.e.: MORE is its own justification!), but it makes the whole shebang inedible unless you use a knife and fork. The bun fell apart on me because it was soaked through. A knife and fork to eat a stomach-turning hamburger, are you kidding me? Ugh. I’d give this place a 4-star rating if it weren’t for that.

Their wings taste exactly like the location in Buffalo. We heard the supplier is the same for the food. Nice ambiance. Family friendly. In our two visits the Manager has dropped by our table to chat. He does this with all the tables. Hard working guy. Hopefully a popular restaurant like this will help Jackson Square. There seems to be a lot of buzz around the place. You pay a bit more here for wings — but — it’s SO worth it. Recommended!

not too mind blowing but I love the idea of having a decent not shady or dirty or trashy place downtown to stop in and have some decent food and a few drinks for being newly opened the service was pretty great and really attentive. they order their cheesecakes from THECHEESECAKEFACTORY so you’re in for a treat if you’re a fan of them –which you should be — this means no longer having to drive to buffalo for a cheesecake fix!

The atmosphere was nice, great new place with nice tvs, a great spot to take in a game. But the food is not great… our server was super sweet but kinda wet behind the ears so kept messing up the order. In her defense they haven’t been open very long and her being a really nice person who apologized and corrected her mistakes made the experience turn out ok. I tried the Buffalo Wing Ravioli which was actually REALLY good but the portion was too small. Also tried the Giardina pizza which was very bland and the Canadiana which was good, can’t really mess that up too much. Also had the boneless buffalo wings in medium. The flavor of the wing sauce was really tasty, exactly what I would want a buffalo wing to taste like. But again, the wings were very small and so was the portion overall, and we ordered a double order! My two friends and myself were still hungry after all that so we got cupcakes for dessert. I tried the red velvet which was so rich and delicious, but I’m pretty they come pre-packaged from elsewhere. For the quality of food we received and the portions we got and the price we paid, I really didn’t see any value in it. Keep in mind, I didn’t try their original wings which is what they are supposed to be known for. I would go back and try them if they ever had a daily special or a happy hour or something.
