The outside may look kind of sketchy, but don’t be deceived because the food here was pretty decent and it didn’t cause food poisoning either. The inside wasn’t as sketchy either although small. I got the red dragon roll and the spicy salmon roll. Both were well made. They didn’t have too much rice, fall apart, and were filled with fresh ingredients. I’ve had better sushi in the city, but that was an AYCE. My only complaint is that the soy sauce they use must be that low-sodium, healthy kind because it was very bland. My date got the nabe udon, which she generously let me sample. It was delicious, especially the broth which was a bit spicy. The service was friendly and they came back many times to refill the tea.

I’m a regular here as it’s 5 minutes from where I live. Although the outer appearance seems as though it’s abandoned for years, this place truly represents the phrase«Don’t judge a book by it’s cover». This place is owned by a family and nicely decorated on the inside. There is always a complimentary miso soup and salad with delicious handmade dressing to go with your meal. There was a complimentary scoop of green tea ice cream back in 2013, but they don’t serve that anymore. Many of the waitresses are students while the husband and wife prepares the food. The quality of their food is delicious as it is not an AYCE place. Most of the time, their fish was fresh and thawed to a perfect amount. However, there was one time, where I had salmon sashimi and my entire salmon was filled with ice. This is really rare, I’m assuming it’s because this was during the coldest months of the year They also serve regular dishes such as Jap-Chae and Bibimbap. All the things I have listed are around $ 10. If you want, they have sushi rolls as well that are large and come in pieces of 6 or 8.

Living relatively close to campus, I’ve heard much of this place so my girlfriend and I came to check it for the first time. Arriving, my first impression was that it was fairly plain décor and not much eye catching as far as initial experiences go. We were seated quickly and served equally as fast. The server was very accommodating and helped suggest good options on the menu. The selection was fairly good having a decent arrangement of various types of sushi, maki and sashimi as well as other stir fry type plates. The prices were alright but nothing too outstanding. I would say it may be on the cheaper side given its proximity to campus while everything else nearby has somewhat inflated prices. Upon making our order, we were almost immediately served(almost suspiciously quickly) some salad and miso soul which ended up being quite good. Approximately 10 minutes later, both our orders arrived and were really good. The quality of the sushi and maki were great and presented fairly well. Throughout our dining experience, we were asked if we needed anything else which was great service, in my opinion. Overall, I would definitely go again to check out their daily specials as well. It would be nice if they had AYCE, but one can always dream…

Nice and fresh food there! The sushi dish is much better the all you can eat one! But shortcomings are not many choice there.

Best sushi in Hamilton! Not all you can eat but best quality for sure! Friendly staff. Place is small and looks are not good, but you forget all this when you taste their food. Try Agedashi Tofu and any special maki rolls. They have good vegi options as well. Overall, very good.

Excellent sushi as well as soups and Korean bbq items. No all you can eat, but lunch and dinner specials are well priced.

No buffet here. But the lunch box is also a great value. Salmon is fresh and miso soup is also yummy. In a rainy night, we went there for dinner. BBQ eel is so so so tasty!!! I also love the salmon sashimi

Good sushi for Hamilton, although not exactly the fanciest atmosphere. Their tempura udon is fantastic. Serving sizes are big, so we often share.

Not«all you can eat» but great value. No McMaster discount, trust me, I’ve asked(a couple times). Very friendly service. Fresh ingredients. Delicious rice. Will make things off menu if you ask nicely or just pretend that it’s a real thing. Free soup and salad included with orders over $ 9. They’re nothing fancy but the dressing is yummy. Famous for: There is a large pole in the middle of the parking lot.

Glad to be the first to share my review so lets put a good word for the friendly owners. Small cosy restaurant with at most 12 tables. Not exactly where I would bring a date for dinner but for lunch this gets the job done right. The menu is a mix of Japanese and Korean style dishes, but sushi is the main item. Nothing out of the ordinary on the maki and sushi selection, but a handful of exotic rolls may catch your attention if not for the daily lunch specials @ $ 8.
