I have eaten in Memphis Fire twice. Their style of BBQ is saucy and the sauce has only one heat level which is mild and tastes okay. Their beef brisket and BBQ chicken are both very good, juicy and tender. Their ribs are dry and very salty. The sides are okay too. On the other hand, this place is in Hamilton, Canada, it is not like you can just find another restaurant serving Southern BBQ nearby. Their prices are quite reasonable, 60’s diner ambiance and friendly service.

Hidden in the outskirts of Stoney Creek is this gem of a BBQ joint. Had a beef brisket sandwich which was packed with flavour and was cooked to a nice level of tenderness. On the side I had the ranch fries which had nice cheesy sauce, topped of with bacon bits and green onions. Portions are generous so be sure to come with an empty stomach, or be prepared to take some containers home. Worth a visit!

Gotta have BBQ! Great spot in Stoney Creek area for lunch or dinner. They serve ginormous burgers and portions of fries judging from the popular orders. We ordered the half rack of ribs and Mac and cheese, fries, collard greens, beans, and chopped salad sides. The Elvis shake was delish… Chocolate and peanut butter make a tasty shake. Vanilla shake was also sweet and good. Ribs were generous portion although they were back ribs so not as meaty as side ribs. Sauce was tasty but I found the ribs a bit dry. All the sides were good. Mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy and i love collard greens when I can get them. The beans were really good with a sweet sauce and definitely not out of a can. Service was friendly. The server was kind enough to give our table of 7 adults and kids 4 separate checks. Casual comfy setting with coke memorabilia and other kitschy decorations around the large room. You gotta eat here according to John Catucci…

I’ve been coming here since they have opened. It’s a great place and very friendly. Parking could be better. The issue I have is that the portions have changed and the brisket is so fatty compared to before. Burgers can be a bit overdone. Fried chicken is awesome but if they ever get bone in fried chicken it would be wonderful. I’ll keep coming back but I hope some improvements are made.

There’s a reason why this little local place in the middle of nowhere has won so many awards. Freshest ingredients, best burgers anywhere — and I mean anywhere — dynamite milk shakes, amazing ribs, brisket and pulled pork… I could go on. You get the message. Go try it now!

The beef brisket alone is worth more than 5 stars. Ribs were on point as well– personally not the biggest fan of their sauce, but the meat itself more than makes up for it. Got the mac & cheese, collard greens, mashed potatoes, and Caesar salad on the side. All very very good. Overall, everything we had here was amazing. Service was very friendly and fast, though we came in at an odd hour and left right before dinner time rush. Is it worth the 1 hr drive from Toronto? Absolutely.

Had the brisket & pulled pork with collards, Mac & cheese. Great flavor from the meat, both were very tender, sauces complimented the meat well. Smoke was more pronounced in the brisket, nice flavorful crust. Mac was creamy and the collards were on point. Highly recommended.

Have had better ribs. Full house 3pm on a Saturday tells you something. That’s nice to see. Normal type BBQ type décor & nice staff. Sliders were decent size. Pulled pork with slaw was good. Beef brisket was tender, moist & tasty. Smoked cheese burger was delish. Baked beans with beef was good.. Have had better Mac & cheese and have had better ribs. I think they were side ribs and not baby back. They were big. But the sauce was added later. Not much was actually cooked on. Not as tasty & tender as I’m use too. Mac & cheese was a little blah. Needed more cheddar. Maybe some smoked cheddar. Was ok overall. We’d go back.

The first I went here was when it first opened. At the time, not many people knew about it so it wasn’t nearly as busy as it may be now-a-days(which only added to the experience). I ordered the beef brisket sandwich with a side of coney fries and not only was it triple-Delicious but the portions were so FAT that I couldn’t finish my meal. Well done! And the food came out relatively quickly. I’ve since gone back at least a dozen times and kept telling/bring family friends with me. I’ve tried a variety of different menu items including the wings = were OK, nothing special. The pulled pork entrée = again, tasty & filling! I also tried the peanut butter/chocolate milk shake… no doubt about it, it was the tastiest shake I’ve ever had however a bit steep as far as the price point is concerned but it’s not something you’d get every time you go in there. I would’ve rated this establishment higher but over the years I’ve found that the overall appeal and quality of the food has deteriorated. Maybe it’s just me? Maybe the allure of that initial«wow factor» dissipated, I don’t know… but I apparently they’ve since got ride of their breakfast altogether which was a bit of a bummer as I never had the opportunity to try it(I only heard good things!?). I haven’t been in a couple of years now but I will… eventually.

I never thought I would return to this place because of a few arrogant comments the chef(owner-) of this establishment wrote on the Zomato site to a diner, not so much because of the food. He was so pompous and belittling to her and then to me when I responded to the comments I thought I would not give him my business again. Yesterday my nephew wanted to take my husband out for his birthday and he picked this place so we went. Atmosphere– I like the feel you get when you walk in. The old Coke paraphernalia, and checkered table cloths give the room an outdoor summer feel. Food– My opinions on this has not changed since I wrote last. I d not understand why this place has such a high rating on Zomato. We had the following– The special of the day-1) Grilled chicken, provolone, bacon, grilled onion sandwich– I really liked flavour of the onions but when you bit into it the whole this dripped of grease. Yuck.2) Sliders– My nephew said he really enjoyed them but they also looked like they dripped grease to me. 3) Mac and cheese– my husband said it was horrible. He had just recently ordered this dish at Salt licks in Hamilton and he reported this one did not even compare. 4.) Chopped salad– Not fresh feeling. I bet they through the vegetables through a processor at the beginning of they day and let it sit. It was the only fresh side i could find to offset the grease. Desserts were Key Lime and coconut cream pies– Key lime was not the best but the coconut cream pie was delicious. I would like to note they have the owners special blend of tea for sale at the front but when I tried to order it after dinner it is not for sale to try! Really? I guess after people tried it they might not buy it. It does not give me confidence in the product. Service– The hostess and our waiter were very personable. We were served very quickly and food was hot. We were given our drinks at the start and then nothing offered until after the meal although our water glasses were empty. I had a tea afterwards and when the waiter found out it was my husband’s birthday he let him choose a piece of pie. That was a lovely gesture. We had not seen our nephew for a while and wanted to chat after dinner. the restaurant never got packed and no one asked us to leave after the bill was paid. However, we were not offered even any more water while we socialized. They were done with us. Kind of heres your hat, whats your hurry. Impression– The food is not standout to me at all, in fact I go as far to say it is not good. I do not plan to be back, but then again i never thought I would have gone this time either.

5 out of 5 stars. We had lunch here today because we saw this place on «You Gotta Eat Here». We were seated relatively quickly given how busy they were. We sat next to a family who had been coming to this restaurant for years and loves it. We both had the brisket sandwich… mine with chopped salad and brown beans, his with fries and chopped salad. First, the chopped salad was incredibly fresh. No need for a knife to cut awkwardly big pieces of lettuce; everything was chopped perfectly and their Mediterranean dressing was flavourful. The brown beans had pieces of brisket and were the most flavourful I have ever had. The brisket sandwich? Wow. Flavourful without being overpowering and served on a wonderful brioche bun. Not a fancy place but decorated in a fun and whimsical way. We will definitely be back. You really do «gotta eat here»!!!

First time having Memphis style Barbecue. This is a vinegar/mustard based type of bbq. My lady had the pulled pork with sides of macaroni& cheese and fries. I had the brisket with beans and collard green. Add the coleslaw and pow. Ok. I’ll be honest, the brisket was wet. I mean it was like having stewed meat. You could taste the smoke but I expected a beef that was tender but not falling apart. The pulled pork was good, not great. Not quite enough sauce and no heat at all. I know the base is vinegar and mustard but a little pepper would have been nice. My lady loved her Mac and cheese, and when you consider that it’s made with smoked cheese — ya, I know — what’s not to like. The highlight of my dish was the collard greens with smoked bacon. The beans were also smoky but way over cooked, mush like. Coleslaw was vinegary awesomeness. I will be back to try the smoked wings — I mean anyone who smokes wings for 6 hours –well gotta try that. Ribs looked amazing — too bad the table next to us wouldn’t share ;)

I was going to give this place three stars, but then I remembered that the owner of the place came to our table during our meal to ask us how everything was. I thought this was a nice gesture and it was greatly appreciated. It made the experience that much better. This place has a whole bunch of awards hanging everywhere. They might as well wallpaper their restaurant with awards! The wait was long. Took about 40 – 45 minutes to get a table for 4 on a Saturday night. It wasn’t so much the wait but we couldn’t have any drinks or snacks while waiting and the waiting area was rather small with limited seating. The food was good and portions were pretty big. I enjoyed the brisket sandwich and would get it again although I would maybe ask for more sauce on the meat(insert comment here). Apparently delicious milkshakes and great ribs too and definitely a place to try. Wish they would take reservations though. This place is booming and I’m sure soon they’ll need a bigger spot!(Maybe take over the empty Thai place just around the corner!). Overall a great find. A bit out of the way but a great spot and definitely worth coming back to try something else! Oh! And an added touch of the owner coming to greet us was greatly appreciated.

This is the closest to USA southern cooking as one can get here in Canada! Been here 5 times and place still blows me away. Their portions are huge and melt in your mouth. Beware it’s always rammed so get there early. Always a repeat and never had a bad lunch/supper yet. They also have a food truck but never indulged personally.

We stopped here on a road trip to Niagara Falls based on Unilocal reviews. We were happy we did. We’re a family of 4 with a four year old and a five year old. We sat on the patio on picnic tables with a view of the local fruit stand. Service was friendly and prompt and helpful. We tried the slider sampler which was good, the sneaky cheesy burger which was better, and the ranch fries which were sooooo good. The fries definitely made it to the top of our non-poutine, best French fry plate list. The kids had mini burgers which were ok. We all shared a vanilla milkshake that was better than average and came with the extra tin tumbler of milkshake. Perfect! Overall, it felt like a more home-grown, more authentic, less refined version of the Montana’s Cookhouse you see in major cities. It gets four out of five due to being quite good with its food and building and service, but the food has room for a little more improvements. It’s pretty good, but just shy of great(meat in the burgers could be juicier, food could have been served a little hotter, etc). Would I recommend it? Yes! Would I go again if passing through? I’d probably take my chances on trying something different. Bonus goodness: several local fruit stands nearby with yummy fresh fruit.

I’ve been meaning to try Memphis Fire BBQ for several years now, and I’m glad to say I finally made it! I wish I could give a 4.5 star rating. My only issues had to do with personal preferences. We arrived at lunchtime on the Saturday of the May long weekend, and we were seated promptly by the friendly hostess. Everyone we encountered — hostess, waitress, food runner — they were all friendly and provided great service. Décor is quite interesting with lots of 50s nostalgia items. I had the pulled pork sandwich with Mac & cheese on the side. He had the half rack of ribs. Everything was delicious and portion sizes were generous. The Mac & cheese was a little runnier than I usually like it, but it still tasted good. When I return(which will be soon I hope), I will ask for the slaw on the side instead of on the pulled pork sandwich. I found it made eating a little too messy. Outstanding buns for the sandwich though.

5 out of 5 stars. Excellent, food, service and atmosphere. Awesome Classic American Dinner with super smoked meats. I had the three slider sampler plate. one pulled pork, one brisket and one burger. Was very good, but the brisket was the best of the three. The pulled pork was my next favourite, and I’m not a fan of pulled pork, and I have to say it was fantastic. The burger was also very tasty. I had a side of baked beans, good but made with BBQ sauce. This is not a good thing for my French Canadian pallet. It was more like Texas smoked BBQ beans. It was still very tasty and good, just too much for me. Yes I do recommend them if you like that kind of baked beans.
