I’m not one to order pizza from restaurants but a friend suggested this place. It was very very good and tasty. Service was a bit slow tho.

I’m a fan of good pizza, and Mother’s Pizza is just plain tasty — not the best pizza I’ve had, but certainly a tasty, satisfying meal. I like a soft crust and I try to avoid cheese — and without cheese, the pizza taste really has to come through(our server told us that there is a bit of cheese in the pizza sauce, though). Mother’s comes through. You can order dipping sauces for your pizza or bread. My daughter likes the garlic sauce; I prefer marinara. The menu is very kid-friendly and I noticed lots of families enjoying a Friday-night dinner. The atmosphere is very 1980s — large booths, poor lighting and wood panelling —which I find very amusing, and the service is good. Even the music is 1970s/1980s, so dinner at Mothers is a happy bit of a trip back in time. The last time we went to Mothers Pizza, the kitchen messed up our order. Instead of lots of veggies and no cheese, we got lots of cheese and hot peppers. But two servers and the manager apologized and they«comped» our pizza(no charge) and gave us garlic bread to keep us fed while we waited Mistakes happen, and as long as the service is good and the restaurant handles it well — which they did — I don’t mind. I’d still go back to Mothers again.

Very disappointed with our most recent visit to Mother’s. I was always a fan of the old restaurant and was so excited to see it back. Went shortly after the grand opening a few years back and it was fantastic but something has changed.(I see some other reviewers have said the same thing). The food was salty. Too much garlic and the prices seem to have gone up too. I ordered a coke and the waitress forgot it. When I mentioned it, she apologized but then forgot it again. Finally arrived towards the end of my meal and the waitress — who hadn’t been friendly the entire night anyway seemed honestly ticked off with me, as if it was my fault she forgot the drink. I have been to the one in Kitchener too. Same story. Shortly after it first opened it was great but went back for a birthday earlier this year and the service was terrible. I had hoped the Hamilton location would have been better. It wasn’t.

Went in for a taste of 1978 and left with the bubble guts. The whole family. My expectations may have been set too high? First pizza was Raw in the middle, second was somewhat redeemable.(it was cooked) Still does not explain why we all got the trots four hours later! They were very apologetic and paid for pizza which was unnecessary. I in return tipped the waitress the worth of the tossed pizza. Disappointed to say the least.

Been three times; first two visits were great, but they were months ago. Went this week and probably won’t return. Veal sandwich was awful, cold and dry, Caesar salad side was mundane at best. So sad to see this place fall, I am wondering if there is new management or owners? Service was also lack lustre, but to be honest the service was never the highlight. In the past we enjoyed the kids meals with our family and the pizza was delicious when we enjoyed it on our first visit, so I am sad to say I am crossing this place off our list of places to eat now on the back of our last awful experience.

Disappointing second visit. For $ 54 plus tip I expect more than mediocre(at best) pizza, beer and service. One large pizza. One pitcher of beer(first pitcher tasted off to our table, second was pretty flat but we went with it). We got the impression we were a nuisance to have complained about the beer.

Our first time dining here, we don’t live far away and pass the restaurant on the daily, and when I’m pumping gas at the Pioneer I always salivate over the cozy aroma clouding over. So we made Mother’s our Tuesday Family night out. The Atmosphere was welcoming and warm, staff was very friendly, greeting us with smiles. Our Server was great considering how busy it was. The only issue we had was that our Server forgot to mention to us that Tuesday’s were all you can eat pasta, and after I had placed my order I noticed the flyer on the table and would’ve ordered that instead, hands-down. I was starving as I had not eaten all day. But it all worked out great as the manager(Darryl) made frequent stops at our table to check in with us and had a great rapport with the kids. I jokingly mentioned the unmentioned all you can eat pasta, expecting to just share a laugh. Instead, he offered to give us the all you can eat pasta anyway, while we waited for our food, at no extra charge. Throughout the meal they made sure that we were taken care of. The Fish and chips were juicy and tasty, and the steak and cheese panzarotti I had was awesomely tasty! Great job guys, we will be returning. Bravo.

A Mother’s still exists? That was my reaction. But then this is Hamilton. There could well be a Red Barn, a Ponderosa, and an H. Salt Fish and Chips just down the street. I dunno. Mother’s was the Boston Pizza of the late 70s and 80s. You went. You’re not sure why you went. The pizza wasn’t that great(well, compared to Pizza Pizza, this is a good pie). You were in your late teens, it was the summer, you couldn’t drink. This place was open until 3 am and would serve bottomless coffees. The stuff of a young man’s dreams. Turns out, doing some research, this isn’t the Mokele-mbembe of Mother’s. It’s not some ancient Mother’s that’s defied time and shifting economics and survived long after all other Mother’s went extinct. That said, it’s not someone squatting on the name offering a bullshit product, like RCA( ). It’s a legit reboot, however. The Mother’s and Pop Shoppe brands were bought and rebooted by an investor(hence, the prevalence of Pop Shoppe sodas on the menu). What’s to like? First of all, the service. Second, great kid friendly place. The children’s menu items are big enough to feed an adult for $ 5.99. A pasta, side(fries, soup, or salad), dessert, and a drink(milk, chocolate milk, or juice). There’s a great patio for viewing the chaos and disability scooters on Queenston road. The pizza? As I say, if your baseline is Pizza Pizza, the pizza is great. I can’t really remember how the pizza was back at Mothers 1.0 but it seems to match. The 80s sound track that was playing during our lunch was a nice touch. Mother’s 1.0 was about trying to recapture a 1930s era. Flappers. gramaphones, washing machines that really required you to wash everything by hand. Mother’s 1.0 fans will remember the old flared soda glasses that collectors will pay more than you’d think on eBay. The 30s esthetic is somewhat more muted but present. And if you look, waaaay up, you’ll see some of the old flared soda glasses. I missed you, Mother. You’re a little different. No doubt you’ve been through a lot. But you’re still fine.

Nothing special. Really nothing special. The pasta sauce was bland and not enough on the spaghetti but when we asked for a little more the waitress charged us extra. I guess you can tell I’m not a fan.

Myself and my girlfriend met a friend here for dinner one night, we got to try some of the pizza and pasta that they serve. The pizza was quite good for the price but was nothing special that made it at stand out over other pizzas. The pasta as well, it didn’t seem to have a whole lot of flavor that I would normally even find I’m my own homemade pasta. The service was good and the environment seemed nice but the overall pack of taste brings this score to a halfway 3.

This is one of the only restaurants in Hamilton that we have found to be consistent every time we go there. We have had a couple simple issues, i.e. switch ingredient, pizza not quite as done as we wanted; and they quickly fixed the problem and were so sincerely attentive to our satisfaction. Oh yes and their pizza is probably the best in Hamilton, which is coming for a Chicago gal! Salad is great too! But the portions are generous! We’ve eaten here about ten times and plan on going back for more!

Had lunch today with my wife and it was delicious. The waitresses were not only helpful but very easy on the eyes. The restaurant itself looked very clean and you can tell that management was trying to make it look like the old mothers, that was very much appreciated. The people who have issues with this restaurant probably have issues with their own mothers. LEVEAREMOTHERSALONE! I hope that in this economy that this restaurant will do well and be able to stay open so my son can also bring his kids. Can’t wait to my next visit hopefully see you all there.

My family and I visited Mother’s Pizza with great anticipation, but we were disappointed with both the poor food and service. When our server greeted us, she was initially friendly and all smiles, but after she took our order(which wasn’t large — just two small pizzas and a soft drink), her smile disappeared and her attitude changed completely. As we were waiting for our food, we were irritated by the many flies that were buzzing around our table. When our server brought our food over, we thanked her politely, but she remained wordless(not even a «You’re welcome» or «Enjoy») and wore a scowl on her face(the scowl remained a permanent fixture on her face the rest of the time she served us). I discovered that my pizza was lukewarm and that the vegetables on top hadn’t been baked at all. It was as if they were slapped on at the last minute, as they were still cold. The taste of the pizza was nothing to write home about. There was nothing special about the quality of ingredients or the crust, all of which were mediocre. I’ve had better tasting pizza even at chains like Pizza Nova or at Fortinos. The other pizza we ordered was similar and we quickly lost our appetites. We paid the bill and left a generous tip, especially considering the unappetizing food and rude service we received. However, we will not be returning, nor will we be recommending this restaurant to our friends. We can go to other places without receiving tasteless food and without being judged by the size of our order.

I have read mixed reviews on other sites about the relaunched, legendary Mother’s Pizza so I had to try it for myself. We ordered a family-sized caeser salad, two small pizzas(Grandmother’s and a custom creation of pepperoni and sausage) as well as soft drinks. The food arrived within a reasonable amount of time. The pizzas were very good and perfectly cooked. Toppings are fairly universal across similar establishments but perhaps it was the crust that seemed to give the pizza a better-than-average taste. It was airy and not tough around the edges as pizza crusts can sometimes be. Toppings were generous but not over the top. The family-sized caeser salad was a bit lack-lustre. It was nice that it had homemade croutons but some fresh parmigiano would have elevated it to its $ 10 price. It has been around 30 years since I was at a Mother’s Pizza so I was looking forward to the old ambience. There seemed to be only a few minor elements of the original décor. Keep in mind that styles have changed since then so perhaps this end result was a balance. A few more smaller screens showing the old silent movies would have been nice. It did have a «pizza parlour» feel though. The service was very friendly. Nostalgia may motivate new patrons to try the relaunched Mother’s but based on my experience, the food stands on its own to keep customers coming back.

I really liked the old Mother’s…and this one is a noble nod to the legend. Great service, decent pizza very reminiscent of the original. Décor is very similar to the original too. At the end of the day it’s a fun pizza joint with good food and service.

Had to wait 15 minutes to be seated and food was at our table in 22 minutes. Pizza was fantastic and the floats were loved by the kids aged 7 and 9. This place has only been open for 2 ½ weeks and we feel the staff did a great, friendly and welcoming job. Will be back for pizza again soon.
