I fell in love with this place from the first time I visited. The atmosphere is just so great! I love all of the décor and the dim lighting. And the food is delicious too. The owner makes me laugh, be always seems so flustered but it’s great.

Great staff. Nice décor. Big portions. Decent prices. But the food was not good. It was not tasty. We ordered masamun and green curries. I was expecting higher quality based on the previous comments. It was disappointing.

What a restaurant! When you walk in it is as if you are walking into a Thai oasis! Beautifully decorated and exotic looking. The service was very friendly but the star of the show? The food. Delicious will not even begin to describe how amazing it was. I ordered the Pineapple Red Curry with Chicken and Jasmine Rice. The chicken was tender. it was the perfect balance of flavours as the coconut milk was not overwhelming at all. It had nice juicy chunks of pineapple to compliment the rest of the dish. My bf ordered the red curry with bbq duck and jasmine rice as well. It was amazing and the duck was flavourful and tender. They give you a good amount of meat as well! Needless to say we left more than satisfied. Cannot wait to go back and try another dish!

The food is so amazing that I don’t care the service is frantic. I take every person I know here, make them order the red curry with tofu, and warn them that the owner is going to be unwelcoming. They leave loving the food so much they don’t care about the service either. For there to be vegan options this delicious outside of Toronto is a miracle. I eat here every week.

Service was a bit slow but worth it. Very Very Good ! I arrived at this restaurant for dinner With a guest. It was very busy and loud, and this was fine because it was laughter. ALL the food we ordered and shared. Were Delicious! This place IS the only restaurant that knows how to make/create Coconut rice. Perfect texture ‚ Flavour, and spice. This really went well with the Pad Thai ! Spiced Delicious goodness.

Loved this place! The food was amazing, we ordered lychee beef and green curry chicken. The atmosphere was nice. I did like the décor and reminded my when I was in Thailand. Will definitely return when I’m back in Hamilton.

Food is pretty good but the owner has serious anger issues. He threatened us when we mentioned the food was too spicy and forced my friend to pay for her meal depsite being unable to eat it and making noneffort to rectify the situation. I wish i had read more reviews prior to coming here because it seems like it’s a bit of a theme. Ambience is a bit awkward, somewhat dank smelling, but became a lot more awkward after he started shouting at us and threatening us. Not sure how this place is still open…

Food was pretty decent but the service was atrocious due to the fact that the owner wants to do everything in the restaurant himself. It was busy but not full and it took us 30 minutes to get our drinks and an hour to get our appetizers. Total meal time over 2 hours. For Thai food that is ridiculous. Food left the kitchen at a snails pace and plates were delivered not all at once so some people at the table had their food a full 10 minutes before everyone else. The owner also did not let his server take orders or operate the cash register which further added to the excruciatingly slow service. It took 20 minutes just to pay because a group of 9 ignoramuses ahead of us from one table all paid with separate bills. A restaurant should never allow large groups to do separate bills when they are busy. Ever. We really should have walked as the wait for food killed the vibe as our table was pretty fed up with all the waiting. Maybe we went on an off night but based on some of the other reviews I don’t think so. The food was good but the wait was a Thai memory I would like to forget.

The food was excellent. Tarot root spring rolls were first to arrive at our table and the taste absolutely blew us away. Everything else that followed was savoury and delicious. Not the best Thai food I’ve had but it would definitely make the top 5. The atmosphere was very interesting. Quaint and warm. Soft lighting and gentle. Definitely worth the visit.

I came here a few years ago with some friends and enjoyed the food very much, so I decided to take my girlfriend here. I would’ve given this experience four or five stars if not for an unusual experience that we had, which I’ll describe below. We got there at 9:15 and unknown to us at the time was that the kitchen closes at 9:30 on Tuesdays. The owner didn’t seem too happy to see us, but gave us a table anyways. There were two other tables who looked like they had just gotten here too, so I think he was getting impatient. The owner was the only one working the floor at this time and between waiting on the three tables and answering the phone, he looked pretty harassed. I decided to order the lychee beef rice dish, while my girlfriend got a red curry beef rice dish. We also ordered the Thai-styled fried mussels pancake to share because it looked delicious. This is where things get interesting. We’re sitting there waiting for our food, when suddenly we hear a woman yell from the kitchen«I’m not making the pancakes!» Uh, okay. The owner comes up to us and informs us that the chef won’t be making the pancakes because it’ll take too long and the kitchen is supposed to close at 9:30. Fine, fair enough. He asks us if we’d like to get something else, but we tell him no thanks. For whatever reason, he then slams the menu shut in our faces and walks off without saying anything. Whaaaaat is going on. Then begins a brief shouting match between him and the chef, which all the customers can hear, followed by him making a loud commotion behind the counter(slamming the fridge door, throwing plates into the sink). My girlfriend and I just look at each other and wonder if we’ll get out of here alive. Thankfully that seems to be the end of whatever that was. Our food eventually came, and it was delicious. The lychee in the dish provided a sweet juxtaposition to the rest of the dish, which I enjoyed very much. Overall, I was disappointed that an otherwise wonderful meal was sullied by some unprofessional behaviour. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt though, as I overheard him telling a few customers that it hadn’t been a good day. I’ll be back, but will be sure to avoid closing time as much as possible.

OWNERHASSERIOUSANGERISSUES! Made my order wrong. Ordered a chicken fried rice $ 14 and ended up getting thier version which had shrimp paste in it!’ I am allergic to shrimp!’ Complained and ended up getting yelled at by the owner and waitress both who they went on to call me a liar and. In the heat of the seemingly one sided argument he kicks the few customers out of the restaurant including myself! throwing chairs and things around the place. I barely got a chance to voice my opinion as he got very violent. I got out of there as fast as i could VERYSCARYEXPERIENCE. HORRIBLECUSTOMERSERVICEORNOTATALL! BEWARE… read other reviews and im glad im not the only one who thinks so!

INCREDIBLE. ive had plenty of meals here and theyve all been good. i highly recommend the pad thai with shrimp made spicy, the green curry, or the orange chicken. its all very very flavorful and authentic. one word to the wise though, believe it when they say their spicy is very spicy. i like spicy foods and normally dont worry about«very spicy» anywhere but their very spicy is pain inducing — it will give you that«im losing my mind» feeling that other heat lovers will know. that being said, if you like spice, i *highly* recommend ordering your food spicy, those thai red chilis are incredibly flavorful if you can handle the heat.

Based on a friend of a friend’s recommendation, we decided to try this place out for dinner. You know what they say about judging a book by it’s cover? Well don’t judge a restaurant by it’s store front. Thai Memory’s store front reminds me of a small trinket store. Inside the restaurant, the décor is… unique, with low lights and soft music, the ambiance is good for a quiet dinner date. The service was great, the waitress kept our glasses full, and took our orders promptly. It took us a while to get all our dishes, but when they came out they were hot and freshly cooked. We ordered the Khao Soy(an egg noodle dish with beef in a creamy curry sauce), the shrimp pad Thai, the Thai memory chicken(deep fried chicken with orange, pineapple, onions and bell peppers), the gaaeng ped ped yeng(bbq duck red curry), and the large coconut rice. The Khao Soy is spicy, heed the warning on the menu(it’s Thailand spicy not«banana peppers» hot). It’s tasty, but on the saltier side. I would have preferred a milder version, but the wet curry and noodle combination is awesome. The medium spicy shrimp pad Thai was delicious. If you’re expecting the Canadian ketchup tasting version, look somewhere else, this isn’t it. The Thai memory chicken(a signature dish) and gaaeng ped ped yeng were both gobbled down quickly with no complaints. The most popular dish of the evening though, was the coconut rice. We got the large Khaao Kati and trust me, you will not regret ordering this! The rice was creamy and sweet, with a perfect hint of coconut. It’s a waste to eat this with anything else, keep the dish separate and have it as a side. I’m glad we stopped by because it was a delicious meal. I can’t wait to try this place out again!

The owner had SERIOUS anger issues. He was yelling in front of the whole restaurant that he hates his job. Slamming chairs, yelling at costumers. I waited over an hour for fried rice and when he hadn’t come to my table for over an hour I kindly told him to not worry about bringing out the fried rice because I had to go work. He said no we are making it so you have to pay.

Thai Thai Thai. Nom nom nom. Starting off to a pretty yummy start. Had the mango salad and rice paper spring clear roll. Sooo good! Mango salad tons of peanuts and very clean flavours. Spring roll with shrimp was amazing. Sauce to dip in had lots of flavour and a touch of heat. Bring on the mains. Deep fried red snapper with 3 flavour sauce. Amazing!!! So friggin good I want more. Careful with the fish bones but otherwise a very good flavourful dish. The sauce is sweet and perfectly paired with the snapper. 11⁄10 Chicken and shrimp pad thai. Maybe it’s because my wife ordered it spicy but I couldn’t really taste any of the flavours that much. She liked it. I didn’t. She thought it had lots of flavour. I thought it was bland. Sorry. Service was… interesting. Water was promptly filled but don’t expect any conversation with the waiter. Overall amazing experience and will definitely go back. Highly recommended. Go on… tell your friends!

Let’s talk about non food issues first: 1. This is the first time where my husband and I have gone to a restaurant where the waitress doesn’t take your orders. 2. The owner is the only one allowed to take the orders and operate the cash as well as decide where you are able to sit, the waitress had no say. She was only able to bring us water, clean the tables after diners left and bring dishes to tables as directed of course. Now to the food. 1. For our appetizer we shared a shrimp Tom yum soup. Which was a pretty good start. The shrimp they used was a good size and the ingredients were fresh. 2.I had ordered pad thai(chicken and shrimp) and also order it to be spicy(they charge an extra $ 1) to be spicy. Which I have never come across before either. The pad thai was«wet» almost it was drenched in a sweet sauce. There was very few fresh herbs and bean sprouts, which lead to a «softer» texture. The only two notes were the sweetness and the spicy from the Thai chillies. The flavor profile was dull. I left pretty disappointed because I have been to Khao San Road and Pai. My husband and I are huge fans of Thai food. We had high expectations for Thai Memory. Needless to say, we will never come back here again. And would not recommend this place for authentic Thai food.

Have been here a couple times. Overall the ambiance is… strange. Interesting plants and things in the walkway — kinda tacky. The owner… also strange. I’ve had the pad thai twice. Haven’t tried other things like the curries, etc, The pad thai here is just OK. Beef — no flavor, bland. Same with the chicken. Too many peanuts. Don’t get me wrong, I love peanuts in my pad thai… but there were just so many and WHOLE peanuts, not crushed. It was strange. Also the noodles tasted overcooked and a little bit too firm for my liking. Overall, I would say Bangkok Spoon in Dundas is a much better option. This place is really just OK. Not sure why it is reviewed so highly. Maybe I will try it again some other time and order something different.

Appreciate the authentic décor of the place but didn’t have a great experience with the food. The khao soi was extremely salty so it was mainly left untouched(everyone at the table thought so) and the Tom yum soup was so sweet that it was more of a sweet than savory soup. The red curry was decent as it was quite fragrant but the pad thai failed to impress. The best dish we had was the satay chicken appetizer because it had a tasty satay sauce(which was again on the sweet side). I love thai food and have been to bangkok for authentic thai — unfortunately this restaurant didn’t live up to my expectations for a great thai meal.

I stopped by Thai Memory with a friend for dinner on Friday, having tried most of the Thai restaurants in Toronto and eager to see what Hamilton could offer. From the outset, the décor is a bit on the«loud» side. You definitely can’t accuse them of skimping on the lighting, flowers or general ambiance. It’s not that it’s in your face, but it’s just a bit much and makes the place feel quite cluttered. We sat down and were greeted promptly, and once we had decided, our orders were taken quickly too. While we were ordering, we queried the heat level in the khao soi and green curry. The server(one of the owners I think) explained that pretty much everything on the menu is served medium spicy at the very least, and there is no way to reduce this. Although I like a bit of spice in my food, my friend doesn’t and was disappointed that all of the dishes he had picked were medium spicy and couldn’t be changed. The server didn’t suggest anything on the menu that might be spicy, and we didn’t want to take up too much of his time asking questions, as he seemed to be run off his feet. We relented, and he ordered the thai green chicken curry and I ordered the jungle curry with chicken. The food arrived within 10 – 15 minutes and we tucked in. The first thing that hit me was the heat. As I said, I love spicy food but my jungle curry was off the charts, and my friend’s green chicken curry had a fair bit of a kick to it too. We both only finished half of our meals as it was just too much. Throughout our meal, the server checked on us and brought us iced water(which we needed!) as soon as our glasses were empty. We only saw the owner and another server the whole time, so I think this is very much a Mom and Pop operation, which I like to support. In conclusion, although the contents of both dishes were undoubtedly very well prepared and of excellent quality, we both agreed that the heat level in both dishes was too much. We both left a little disappointed and don’t think we will be back.
