This is forever my favourite pad thai place. Extremely tasty, and portions are large enough for leftovers. The owner is very sweet, and now recognizes me as a regular. Reasonable price for the amount of food you get, and the serving of shrimp chips beforehand(you’ll get a small platter before your dinner meal) makes it worth the price. I stopped getting take-out at this location a while ago because I found the dishes to be rushed. They don’t let the noodles cook in the sauce long enough(assuming they are rushing to get it out). When I order take-out I tell them to take their time, and not include the garnish with the dish. The location has enough seating — however sometimes, when busy, is extremely loud. Also, when busy the waiters wont come back to fill up your water glass as frequently as you may need it. Ask for the bill or they will take a while to ask you.

Service is always great. Food is always delicious, served hot and fresh. I usually have the green curry and never any complaints. Lunch prices could be cheaper.

We got there when the business crowd was leaving. It was a bit chaotic and we didn’t know where to wait for a table or who to talk to. After a few minutes, a waitress seated us. We have experienced much better Thai food in Australia and in Vancouver. We went last week for lunch after visiting Canadian Museum of History. We ordered from the very limited lunch menu Pad Thai, coconut chicken curry, pork with Thai basil, beef with ginger and pepper. Portions were a bit small but tasted OK. This restaurant is in an old house. The woman’s washroom was in a odd corner. On the other side of the toilet, there was a small door(e.g. where monsters might hide) and I kept hoping that nothing would jump out as I was on the toilet. LOL.

Great Thai place. Clean restaurant and good service. It was conveniently located next to the Canadian Museum of History, so it was a great stop after the museum visit. We requested vegetarian pad thai without tofu and with additional vegetables and they were very accommodating. It was delicious and so was the stir fry mixed vegetable. Highly recommended!

The restaurant is located conveniently next to the Sheraton in Gatineau and a host of museums on Laurier Street. This place has a great lunch menu and the dishes are quite quintessentially Thai in flavor. The décor of the restaurant is exquisite and the service is good. I look forward to this place when visiting Ottawa.

A most outstanding Thai restaurant. Their dishes were very flavourful, and the warmth from the meal was a welcome respite from the cold winter. Their prices are very reasonable as well. I would eat here again.

I had never tried traditional Thai food until I walked into Green Papaya. This Green Papaya restaurant is located inside an old building right on Laurier Street(so a very short walk, drive, cab to Ottawa) and across the street from the Museum of Civilization. This restaurant has several different dining room areas so it’s great if you’re looking to book an area of the restaurant or for a private party like the birthday party I was attending. I immediately told the waitress that I can’t easily eat spicy food and she was very courteous and understanding — enough so to recommend a really great dish for me. I ended up with the Green Papaya Grilled Chicken plate which had a really yummy chili spread. The service was excellent and they took care of our group very well — there was about nine of us there that evening. The prices were very reasonable and I left Green Papaya promising myself to return even though most Thai food is off limits for my taste buds given that I don’t enjoy spicy food.
