Decided to go green this week even though I am not an vegetarian/vegan. Looking around for a spot in a town you are not familiar with — makes me spend more time in checking out the menu. That is when I found out this place serves raw food. My trainer once went on a raw food diet for a month and I know is great for weight loss. Not that I need to lose weight since I am in double digit only. I thought it will be an interesting experience. I was not disappointed. The food was delicious, nothing is what it seems. Very reasonable compare to raw food dinning in Washington DC. The raw quiche was made with cashew cheese and other vegetables(avocado, onion, pepper…) on a piece almond crushed cracker. The salad is a kind of cabbage salad similar to coleslaw. The plating was pretty. The dessert is to die for. The three layers cake is with a layer of chocolate and raspberry and coconut cream. The highlight of the meal. The menu is large here, plenty of usual vegetarian dishes but there is also raw food. A great place!

I love this little resto! Everything about it and all the plates they have are absolutely delicious and not as pricey(I find in comparison to pay per kilo). The only reason why it wasn’t a 5 is only due to a bit of slow service on the occasions I have been there. Otherwise the staff are super pleasant and very helpful. I always recommend this vegan restaurant not only to other vegetarians/vegans but also my friends in general who wish to eat healthier. But oh so delicious! I love the tempeh wraps! My favourite.

This was my first visit and I LOVEDIT. The food was amazing and so tasty! Good proportions and the service was fast and cheerful. The menu had a lot options for every diet. At least half the items were raw. My friend had the daily smoothie and thought it was delicious. I had the tofu Eden sandwich with Pesto and I was not disappointed. Great ambiance and cute dining room. They also had a large selection of vegan desserts including chocolate tarts, brownies and cake. Highly recommended.

I was so happy to find this tasty healthy joint after days of greasy conference food! Loved the black bean wrap, yum! Super-sweet young Québécois hippies, what could be better, lol!

As I can’t eat wheat, I was excited that most of the dishes were gluten-free or used spelt flour. After thoroughly reading the menu, my partner and I each ordered a wrap and swapped half, so we could try both. Our food was beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. The wraps were flavourful and filled with lots of fresh vegetables. We split a piece of 3-layer cake after. It was surprisingly refreshing and delivered a burst of flavour with each bite. I’ll be sure to stop by every time I’m in Ottawa/Gatineau!

My go-to veg spot has always been The Green Door. So I wanted to try something new! I found La Belle Verte on . It’s towards the end of Eddy Street in Hull. It’s a very unique, charming little space with colourful, mixed matched tables and chairs. Almost their entire menu is vegan! Unless it lists Goat Cheese– you can assume it vegan! That is really impressive, especially considering how large their menu is! Service, albeit nothing to write home about, was fairly fast. Our server made it seem like we were inconveniencing her with our presence. The food is absolutely delicious! I had a pizza and a salad(Cleopatra salad?) Which was totally divine! Although I found it a bit on the pricey side of things, I would recommend La Belle Verte and I would certainly revisit. We had found that many alterations and upgrades to our order sure packs a punch to the wallet. Another down side was the lack of alcohol.

Fantastic place. I am not a vegan but love going here to expose me to the world of raw eating and how yummy vegan food really is. The best part is the incredible desserts! Yes, I said desserts — such as peanut and chocolate bars and the citron/key lime tarts! Plus really tasty sauces and the flatbreads are delicious! It’s a nice causal place. Sort of like a coffee house environment but with really great food options!

A mean green veggie restaurant in this part of town(Hull) — finally! This vegetarian, vegan and raw food specialty restaurant is located in the heart of Old Hull(Vieux Hull) on Eddy street(connects to Chaudiere Bridge and Booth street). It’s a small, neighbourhood type of eatery, but it’s incredibly charming and the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. The menu has a wide selection of exotic dishes as well as «green» twists on traditional dishes(like raw pizzas!). The prices were reasonable for the most part, considering that many«green» restaurants tend to be pricey. The accessible menu and its affordable costs make it an ideal place to introduce your non-vegetarian friends to your lifestyle! Although breakfasts seem completely out of question because of their business hours, and portions are not excessively large in general, this is definitely a place to try. La Belle Verte is near many small local businesses, including a food market, the Cha Yi tea house, Summium Chocolaterie(new) and Studio Mouvement(a yoga and dance school).

I had one of the best sandwiches in my life at this place. I almost didn’t get to eat here because they don’t take credit(only bank cards and cash). However, they accepted my US money at par. La Belle Verte is really cute and colorful and has a nice open kitchen. You go up to the counter and order your food, then sit down. You can also get take out here, so in that case after you order you just wait in the seats across from the counter. You pay at the end by going back up to the counter. They have a tip jar up at the register if you feel like leaving a little something for the nice people here! Basically half the menu is Raw and half the menu isn’t, but it is all 100% vegan and mostly organic. Prices are completely reasonable! I wasn’t feeling raw, so I got The Zorba Sandwich($ 6) which contains Zorba Greek un-cheese(cashews, black olives, and fine herbs), roasted red peppers and onions, tomatoes, carrots, parsley, sprouts and greens, sun dried tomato tapenade, and the house mayonnaise. I bit in and it was an explosion of flavor. I highly suggest getting this if you come here. This had to be one of the best sandwiches I ever had. The only downer about this place is the parking. I think there is a lot behind it, but I’m not sure if it’s for customers. It is really small anyway. There is metered parking right outside, but it is 25¢ per 7 minutes! That is down right insane! You get a 1.5 hour max. The parking patrol is very on top of the meters, so make sure you feed them properly. If you are ever passing though here, check this place out!
