A very hospitable, yet classy environment. I had the BBQ pork chop, and it was so tender and moist. The baked potatoes were set just right, crisp on the outside, but delectable on the inside. The only downside was the veggies. Left more to the imagination. A little watered down and tasteless. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. Had a very enjoyable dinner here, and would eat here again.

Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday. My wife and I ordered sandwiches. Food was good but we had to wait 30 minutes for the food to get to out table. Nothing complicated about the order.

Like many fine dining restaurants, the Fireside Steakhouse isn’t great for vegetarians.(Go figure with«Steakhouse» in the name…). They did offer a delicious baked brie and a salad that I really enjoyed but I do get somewhat tired of having to construct a meal out of appetizers. For those who do eat meat, all of my companions enjoyed their meals. The chicken and waffles looked particularly good. One place where the Fireside does excel is with their cocktails. They have a regular list of drinks as well as some interesting looking seasonal offerings. It was very difficult trying to decide which ones I wanted to sample. Spoiler: they were all good. Another thing I really enjoy about this restaurant is the atmosphere. It’s cozy yet open, has nice, comfortable seating, and is great for larger groups or for an intimate evening. As for the service? It’s pretty good overall. The last time I visited it was fine for most of the night but a bit spotty near the end when we waited for a very long time for our bill and then waited again to pay. Overall the Fireside is definitely a place I would check out again when I’m looking for good food and a nicer atmosphere than most other restauarants in Kamloops.

Had a steak that was cooked to perfection. Great peppercorn sauce and el dente vegetables. Baked potato could have been better, semi hard but would go back.

My sweetheart brought me here on our first date. I was pleasantly surprised with the gorgeous décor and lovely ambiance. It is romantic and nicely lit, with a live band playing wonderful music which wasn’t overwhelmingly loud. We had a nice bottle of wine to go with our dinner. I ordered the osso bucco, so perfectly seasoned and tender with some of the best mashed potatoes I’ve even had. He had the maple salmon, which was also incredibly delicious. We also started off dinner with the charcuterie board, that had a scrumptious assortment of cheeses and meats. I’d definitely come back here for a special date or even for lunch. Highly recommended.

I have recently been in Kamloops for work and I have to say foodwise, I am impressed. True you won’t find anything really ethnic, but what I have tried at different places has been suprisingly really good. Tonight, I had two appies at Fireside steakhouse and Bar; the grilled scallops and prawns and the charcuterie platter. Both were really great, especially the seafood. The seafood dish was amazing!!! Definitely on par with anything in Vancouver and probaby one of the better dishes I have had in a while. The charcuterie platter was also really good. 3 good servings of meat and 3 good servings of cheese. Only thing I would change would be some assortment of mustards. Service, is also really good, both at the restaurant and the hotel. If you are in town, you can’t go wrong coming here for dinner.
