Colonnade Pizza & Restaurant

I was largely ignored by the waitress and the small cheese pizza I ordered to share with my 2 children took 50 minutes, at that point I had to get it to go because it was to late. Magically she wants to chat when she knows I’m fed up and she is about to lose her tip. Unacceptable. Won’t be returning

Best pizza I’ve had in a long time! Perfectly cooked base, delicious tomato sauce, heaps of good quality toppings and generous with the cheese. There’s plenty of seating and the service is great. It was fairly busy on the Monday night I was there and there was only one server, and yet she was always available when we wanted something. Would definitely recommend!

This is my go to pizza place. The original owner is back and so is the quality, taste, value and service.
You can customize your pizza and they will make it for you. Service is fast and friendly.
Recommended for pizza lovers.

Geez I love this Colonnade pizza! On the weekend my nephew and I were going to the Sen’s game…(the battle of Ontario… Sen’s vs the hated Leafs) and cuz I don’t know the area well I told my sister I wanted got leave early for the game. The Canadian Tire Centre is a huge stadium and it’s easy to get lost!
Anyways my sister ordered delivery on an extra large meat lovers pizza. It was great! I would rate it as among the best pizzas that I’ve had! Rich and laden with toppings: cheese, meat, tomato sauce… It is on the excellent side of the hallowed pizza spectrum scale! Yes it’s a bit greasy, yes it’s filled with tons of calories but hello people we are eating a pizza!!! We’re not eating a diet cracker!!! I’ve had soooo many piss poor pizzas! It’s easy to find a bad pizza… Thick crust, scant on toppings and cheese… The Colonnade pizza is a ray of light in the black dungeon of delivery pizzas!
I say enjoy the decadence of this bad boy and work out extra long and extra hard at the gym tomorrow!

Completely agree with the review by Upindis M. My family used to either go to this restaurant or receive take out approximately every 2 weeks. Then the ownership changed. We ordered a pizza one night after work. I had an apt that night and needed to eat within an hr. I called and explained and was promised delivery in 45 mins. An hour and a half later, the pizza arrived. Okay, $hit happens… I’m always willing to give someone another chance.
I should mention that one of the reasons I prefer Colonnade is that I like ground beed on my pizzas and Colonnade is one of the few that still use real ground beef, not the imitation ‘meatloaf’ that a lot of pizza joints use.
So the next time, we went to the restaurant. First off, I explained what had happened last time, fairly (I think) expecting a discount this time based on the previous experience — I should note that we were charged. After listening patiently, the lady offered me a 10% discount. Are you kidding me?! You broke your promise, I missed my dinner and you offer me 10% off? Whatever, I was hungry and just wanted food. So the pizza comes and surprise, surprise, mystery meat instead of ground beef. I called the waitress over to find out what’s up. She ended up bringing over the lady I had discussed the discount with. She tried to tell me that they had always used the mystery meat. At this point, I’m totally flabbergasted — had I suddenly developed Alzheimers? That was enough for me. Have not been back. Will not be back.
Just because the sign says Colonnade, don’t be fooled. It’s not like McDonalds where it’s the same product everywhere. Stick to the location on Metcalfe. Some of the people there have been there for 20 years. I can’t comment on any other of the CP franchises, but the one downtown is authentic.

Used to come here regularly. Food was very good and the place busy with regulars. Type of place where you forgive the run down look because of the good food. But last year the ownership changed. They cleaned up the décor but went cheap on the food. Overcooked broken pasta with minimal sauce. Garlic Bread was a slice of Wonder Bread. Really?! You call yourself Italian? The waitresses were still nice though…

We bought two pizzas and the cost was $ 58 for two pizzas with bacon on it. The pizzas were quite greasy and nothing to. Write home about. I will never go here again.

I have to say I used to be a HUGE fan of Colonnade pizza when I lived downtown and we could walk over to the location on Metcalfe. When I saw they had a location in Kanata I was glad as I now live in the west-​end — too bad its really not the same food that we used to get downtown. We stopped in for a mid-​week lunch last week. Our pizza crust was very undercooked (barely brown), our pasta was overcooked and not seasoned, and flavourless sauce was not able to help save the pasta. Had we not had to very hungry 6 year olds with us I would have sent the pizza back to be cooked more and asked for a new order of pasta.. at least the garden salad was fresh and tasty.

Very good pizza with great taste and lots of cheese!
