I am glad this place is still around, and still caters to sewing, even though I don’t sew that much. However, I am a knitter, and occasionally need buttons for the items I make. I was in this shop in Kanata this past weekend, and was very surprised that they no longer sell fancy fun buttons for kids’ garments! I had come to this location as a backup for Michael’s which recently openened in Kanata. Their buttons were not suitable either. So, I’m still searching. While I search for a good button distributor, I will be back to this store for patterns and fabric to sew clothes for myself or curtains. It’s a rewarding hobby even if you don’t sew that often! UPDATE May 232014: this outlet will be closing its doors May 30th. More than half the stuff in it is gone already! Two other Fabricland locations, on Merivale near Hunt Club, and the other out in Orleans. *Sigh* what will sewers and quilters do now, to get fabric, patterns, notions and the like for sewing? We are such an «off the rack» society! It’s a shame to loose such a resource as this! On the upside, there are whisperings of a new store opening in Stittsville area. Will have to keep my ears and eyes open for that!
