Well I like the coffee here Only one time did I get a less than great coffee Often quite busy but there is a fair amount of seating There is a large table to set up your laptop as well Since it is attached to Chapters there is more seating Staff is young but usually efficient, helpful and friendly Breakfast and lunch Sandwiches served all day Bean coffee a plenty Coffee cups or plungers Tea and cold drinks It is all one would appreciate in a coffee shop

Although I am not typically a fan of the Starbucks locations implanted in Chapters bookstores, this is still a nice place to sit and enjoy a great cup of coffee with a friend, or even alone.

Its located to the chapters. I love this place because I can grab my coffee and go to the children section in Chapters where my little ones will play while I enjoy my coffee and read. There is also a small bulletin board which advertises some of the events taking place around Kanata. One downside, its smalller compared to a full-size Startbucks and less space to manouver a stroller.

***UPDATE*** you don’t have to sign up for the Wifi, but just go through a couple of prompts to get logged in automatically for free. I’ve been here on a handful of occasions, usually around lunch time, and overall it is a good experience, I’ve frequented many a Starbucks branch around the world, so there is a level of expectation one looks for. Mine is always customer service. Most days they do greet you, and call out your order prior to paying as well as when it is finished, to ensure everything is correct. With that, there is a sendoff such as «have a great day», «enjoy», something along those lines. Today was one of the rare times I didn’t get that, and while singling individuals out is not an issue, Carolyn’s complete lack of customer service and personality won’t detract from my overall rating of this branch. It is a smaller size than other Starbucks that I’ve been to, but there are abundant tables, stools, and the comfortable leather chairs in the front, as well as behind the coffee servers. There is free wifi, and you can link your account with your Facebook(Which I dislike strongly as a whole). They also have a large quantity of mugs, cups, glasses, coffee makers, and whole bean coffee for sale, as well as snacks and sandwiches, yogurt, and cold drinks as well.

This outlet is attached to the Chapters store in that big box mall(Kanata Centrum), but it keeps somewhat independent hours from the book store(such as early morning, before the book store opens up). Still, it has free Wi-Fi, and offers the usual Starbucks fare and stock for sale. Same good coffee, same reasonable service. It’s not a big huge store, but it’s nice to be able to sit down with your shopping and sipping and start sifting through your purchases. :-) UPDATE: July 2013 — they’ve started offering a new blend of coffee, called«True North». It’s gorgeous! So I bought a pound of it to enjoy at work… «Try it, You’ll like it!» UPDATE: April 2015 — The Starbucks chain has now started offering a larger variety of items to nosh on. Better branding? You be the judge! And you know what? Starbucks’ coffee competition has raised their prices too. Comparing size for size, Starbucks’ coffee is NOT that much more expensive than the rest! Surprised? I was! Update December 2015… Had a funny experience here today: the cashier was really good — asked if my drinks were for here, even said my name instead of taking my gold card then asking who I am. The barista wasn’t quite the same, maybe distracted… a wee bit sloppy. It looks like they got new cups in, as they seem to disappear. I’m saying this because there was a sticker stuck on the side of the mug, which should have been scraped off. No big deal; it wasn’t in the way or anything. It was just funny/odd.
